Control Windows error cyclic redundancy

I have two identical laptops. Both started having the same problem today. Model is Notebook CQ61-410US of Compaq.  Running Windows 7 Home Premium. 64-bit operating system.

I started having a cyclic redundancy check error (error error_crc by MS Windows).  The error occurs when I try to sync or either of my two laptops with the ACT of Sage software loaded on the remote server. I have been successfully sync these laptops for two years in the same way.  Just today started to have this problem. And I have two other computers that are syncing without problem. I did a restore to yesterday morning before a critical update is installed Windows. That did not help. Because it is a problem with only these two laptops, my suspision is that it has something to do with laptops and some kind of an update which affected them.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Solution found!  A ran a chkdsk on the server. It found errors and fixed them. All computers are now the synchronization.

    Hello

It seems that something go wrong with the HARD disk partition.
Did you try running chkdsk and to check the external HARD disc ability?
    Do this!

    Startup command box (cmd)
    You can use the command: chkdsk c: /f r + +.
But c: means that the HARD drive or partition, you need to change this with the same letter that is assigned to the external HARD drive

    Hello

    1. When you save the backup?

    2A it worked fine earlier?

This error occurs if the hard disk has errors on this subject.

I suggest that you run a check disk on drive c and then try the backup.

You can help solve some computer problems and improve the performance of your computer by making sure that your hard disk has no errors.

    a. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.

    b. click the hard disk you want to check, and then click Properties.

    c. click on the Tools tab and then, under error-checking, click check now. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To automatically repair problems with files and folders that detects the scanning, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will simply report a problem, but not to fix them.

To perform a full disk check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This scan is trying to find and repair physical errors on the hard drive itself, and it may take much longer to complete.

To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.

    d. click Start.

Depending on the size of your hard disk, this may take several minutes. For best results, do not use your computer for any other tasks while it checks errors.

    Hi shaunrollett,

Control of cyclic redundancy or CRC errors, usually occur when copying data to a CD or DVD. The error may indicate a bad block, a damaged disc or a hardware problem.

You can check whether or not the CD works in another computer.

You can try to run the Fixit mentioned in the link below and check if it helps to reolve the question:

Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media

    Hello

I have an external backup drive.  I wasn't able to make the backup now that it returns errors.

I guessed it was a video folder and the files that I copied recently and he was causing. When I tried to remove it, it displays an error that is not able to read the source. Tried to remove the folder using 'rmdir' at the command prompt. Cannot delete with errors "data error (cyclic redundancy check)".

Ran a chkdsk on the volume, but still freezes at 2%...

No way to delete the folder? Or if I reformat the drive, it will help?

  • Sims 3 download error, cyclic redundancy error!

I am trying to download the sims 3 late at night, he will get about 98% finished & then an error pops up. Every time! It is said of cyclic redundancy... I did everything site Web EA told me to do and nothing works. Any help?

    Hello

    1. How do you try to download the game?

    2. you download from the Web site or that you try to install via a CD/DVD?

If you use a CD or DVD to install the game, this error occurs when your computer fails to read some of the content on the CD/DVD it needs to install the game.

Main reasons for this error on CD/DVD, it's that your drive needs a quick cleaning. It could also be that the CD/DVD is scratched then upwards that the drive cannot read the disc.

I also suggest you to perform a disk defragmentation and check.

Improve performance by defragmenting your hard drive
