  Hi, I know this has been discussed before, but I have not found a solution to my problem in the existing threads. Probably missing me something obvious, and perhaps someone here can point out he me.

  I recently updated from CS3 to CS5. In the two editions of photoshop I followed the recipe of Eric Chan to set up the print workflow: http://people.csail.mit.edu/ericchan/dp/Epson3800/printworkflow.html. In CS3, everything works as expected, i.e. Printing corresponds to the test. Print the image even from the same computer/monitor in CS5 product which is much darker than the softproof printing or printing from CS3.

  In case this is relevant, my psd files are all in Adobe RGB 1998, I use the print Epson provided (v5.51) for the Stylus 3800 diver. I use the icc profile for Epson exhibition fiber paper, which is what I print on. The conversion method is Relative calorimetric with verified Blackpoint Compensation. Photoshop runs on a Windows XP SP3 32-bit computer.

  Any suggestions? Are there settings that are not mentioned in the description of Eric Chan I should look to find the source of the difference? Is there anything that could explain the different random draws?

  immediately I notice you're using different printer profiles in photoshop CS3 and CS5 print dialog (the text in your screenshot is too blurred to read)

  I have no way of knowing if you have used the same profile in Proofing

  But if photoshop softproof does not match the impression that something is happening, the question is: what?

  I design a monthly publication, which is always started from an InDesign template.  This template has been created in CS3 and Incopy all links have been created using CS3 as well.

  We have upgraded to CS5 today and now we are unable to connect to these stories.  Here is the error message:

  Should I dissociate and create a new InCopy Documents or is there a quick way to solve this problem?

  I don't know, I think it's pretty fast.

  Open the file in CS3.

  Select all the stories in the Panel assignments (shift-click to get them all). -10 seconds

  Click the icon to break the (trash) link at the bottom of the Panel. -1 second

  Close the file in CS3, do a save as w/a different name if you wish. -5 seconds

  Open the CS3 to CS5. Save or save as. -20-30 seconds (depending on the size)

  (Personally, at this stage, even if I was not using InCopy, I would still be exporting to IDML and then reopen it in ID CS5, by saving the document without title with another name, since you are skipping a few versions.) But it is not necessary. If you do, add another minute).

  Both versions can coexist on the machine of the CAs, and I highly recommend you keep CS3 available.

  Contact by web chat support. As a general rule, however, you get what you expect - suites can only be upgraded to suites. You should ask before rather than making a noise about it now.

  I am currently moving from CS3 to CS5 on my iMac. I've updated the main part of the suite, but when trying to update Acrobat received a warning him scared me. He said something to lose eventually my current PDF. It seems that you have to uninstall your old version of Acrobat before you install the new version.   Straceylou16 no you will not lose your PDF documents.  It's only going to remove the old version of Acrobat.  Will not suffer your PDF documents, you have saved.

  I would do in literally the cheapest way possible.  I know that nothing tends to be cheap with Adobe, but I was wondering what the best way would be to go to the Master Suite CS3 to CS5, and if change of licenses can student to commercial over upgrades (or what I have to buy the range Master many times?)  I do go through CS4 to CS5?  Is there any remotely cheap medium to do this?  Thank you.

  Hi Vito,

  Yes, you can directly upgrade from student to commercial and get the upgrade prices - which is one of the benefits once you own student editions...

  However, if you happen to be still in school so you can continue to get student price of a full copy of CS5.5 - so you would need to compare the price of upgrade compared to the cost of a new edition student above and if it was lower.

  And you do not need to go through CS4 in both cases - just go directly from CS3 to CS5.5 Commercial in the first case, or buy the CS5.5 Student Edition pure and simple (if you are still eligible) in the second.

  Basically, my organization has improved from BOF of CS3 to CS5 and we are having some performance issues.

  Can I set the preferences so that when I have a pan on a document with images of age or work located in the screen goes all jerky?

  Is this something to do with the function of direct circulation of CS5?

  It is also possible to copy and paste images from a document of CS3 to CS5 offline?, currently when we try the images are not in rshould in the CS5 document.

  CS5 takes more resources, but sometimes it's problems like the screen Live drawing coming to make it appear as if it was slow.  Other tips include now the links Panel and closed pages when you're not to use them and turn off live preflight.

  You have a small screen?  Who does not respect the minimum of 1024 x 768 pixels in Photoshop maybe?

  Unfortunately, it will not put a record on a too small screen dialog box.  Yes, that sounds pretty fake.

• Different fonts between CS3 and CS5 on Win7 system using the same fonts directory

  I have several files created in Fireworks CS3 that work very well. Fonts are all installed in the directory system on my Win7 box.  This used to be a WinXP Pro box.

  I can load a file in Fireworks CS3 without a single question and text everything seems perfect. As it should.  Close the CS3 open CS5 and load the same file and CS5 tells me I must update my fonts.  Why?  Same system, the same fonts in the same font directory. Only thing that's changed, it's that I open the file (s) in CS5.

  The fonts look the same in CS5.  I'll have to redo all the Fireworks CS3 files so that it looks correct in CS5? If so, why?

  Here is a sample image of the way it is supposed to look like. The Swift gets watered. PlazaDUtil is the police. I'd hate to have to redo all my files logo.
