convert DB2008 SQL express oracle 12 c by sql developer

Hi friends,

I created a SQL 2008 declare for the prod database. I run OMWB_OFFLINE_CAPTURE and receive an ocp source file complete

Transform ocp Oracle express12c sql developer (3.2.20.10) but failed with error DB

oracle.dbtools.metadata.persistence.PersistenceException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 14: PLS-00201: identifier ' MIGRATION. GATHERCONNECTIONSTATS' must be declared ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: statement ignored

Research on the basis and the migrated tables revised, I found that I only migrated system SQL sql objects and does not see any user with dbo SQL prefix object

OMWB_OFFLINE_CAPTURE test its backsql P@$$w0rd1234

The SQL server database was generated by s a software vendor and we know not what user has application data.

How can I get sql tables dbo server in ocp for the migration file.

Thank you

newdba

Hello

I ran a test on my system using SQL * 3.2 Developer and don't see the problem you have.

Can I check what you have done and the steps to follow?

1. you have generated the ocp in the menu - Tools - Migration file - Create Database capture Scripts

2. after the execution of OMWB_OFFLINE_CAPTURE you see 2 directories under the directory chosen for migration?

You should see - 2 directories - 'master' and 'backsql.

3. in the migration wizard.

Tools - Migration - migration

for the 'Source' database, you chose "offline" and then the file .ocp is generated - sqlserver2008.ocp

4. in the next screen "Capture" you shoud see the database "backsql" in the column "databases selected. If it of in "Databases" then move it across.

If that's what you see migration should precede as planned.

5. in the next screen - target database - choose "offline" and check the generated scripts.

They should contain instructions create for all objects in the database 'backsql.

If this isn't what you see then please detail the exact measurements you have taken.

Kind regards

Mike

    Unfortunately, the answer is no.  SQL * Developer does not currently support the migration of DB2 on z/OS.

  • How to convert MS SQL Server 2008 Stored Procedures of Oracle 11 g SPs?

    We have an application from MS SQL Server 2008. We want to migrate to Oracle 11 g.

    What is the recommended Oracle method for
    (1) migration of data (Tables, triggers, sequences, views etc..)
    (2) the stored Procedure migration.

    What is the recommended tool or method pls?

    We have 100s of MS Sql Server stored procedures. Then, needing a tool or method. We can rewrite all of them from scratch.

    Hello

    Let me clarify some of the issues that you mention. But I advise you to get some professional help with migration because:

    1. you must understand the architectural differences between SQL Server and Oracle. They are of different databases.
    2. understand data type mappings.
    3. understand the complete migration process. Just using the OTN article as a migration guide won't help because it just shows how use SQL Developer to this task.
    4. understand that 100% of successful Oracle conversion is not possible with all the tools. There will always be gaps, gaps in functionality, bugs etc. So there will be some amount of manual work involved.
    5. There are many other tasks involved in the migration that cannot be accomplished with SQL Developer.

    Get now your questions:

    1. in 3.1, there is migration option for the "capture of database in offline mode". It is under the Tools option. So in 3.1 we do not have a separate tab, called "Migration."
    2. use 3.1 because it is much better than 2.1 in terms of capabilities.
    3 migration Wizard is the easiest way to migrate. Where are you getting confused?
    4 "column data" seems to be a stored procedure in SQL Server. If it is not there in the underlying table, why he uses in the SQL statement in the procedure then? I think that we have a problem of "reserved word" with the name of column "Data". Will have to check that.
    5 VARCHAR (@max) must be mapped to VARCHAR2 (4000) in Oracle. It may be a bug in SQL Developer. So during the mapping of data type in the migration wizard, you can change the default mappings.

  • Why I can't connect to sqlplus but not EM express or SQL Developer with sys account?

    Hello

    I am running in a strange situation. Any help is appreciated!

    I have an Oracle 12 c database shared running on my local computer. I can connect on it through sqlplus very well. Sys and system work. However, I could not connect on EM express or SQL Developer such as sys, only the system account has worked. I get the following errors when you sign on EM and SQL Developer as sys. I checked that the sys password is correct.

    em_express.PNGsqldev.PNG

    > Express EM or SQL Developer

    both use SQL * Net (ONLY) to connect to the database.

    There is a security risk to allow "sys as sysdba" to log on to the network and should be avoided.

    logging as long as SYS via the network using external password file; probably, that does not exist or contains the wrong password

  • Installation of Oracle and SQL Developer data

    Hi, I was looking for some help/advice with regard to the installation of an SQL Developer and Oracle database on a 32-bit Windows 7 computer. I have been asked to create a database to store the data that I create through reports in Excel format, so I'm required to create a local database but do not know how to do this. Also do not know if I install the Express edition or Oracle 11 g R2 database. If someone could please advise on how I can get this has begun or even links/tutorials that guide me in getting this installed with a localhost.

    Thanks in advanc.

    Thanks guys, I managed to install Oracle 11 g 2 and I installed a database using dbca tool and I can connect to my database. One thing I noticed is that when I look in my tables in sql developer I see plenty of tables different i.e. def$ _, logmnr_, etc. and I don't know why did I expect an empty table.

    Thank you for all your help btw.

    One of the fundamentals of relational databases is that they use their own facilities to manage themselves.  This means that the database management system uses the database to manage data on the database using exactly the same facilities (tablespaces, tables, user accounts, procedures, etc.) that an application uses to store application data. See "data dictionary" so there is no such thing as a completely database empty.

    As said by others, you do NOT want to create your own tables under patterns oracle (users) or in the disc spaces logics own oracle (esp. SYSTEM and SYSAUX).  Create your own account user/schema.  Create your own tablespace. Do this by default tablespace for the user.

    I'm sure that it is coded in the old hostname, simply replace it with the new host name.
    Restart your receiver and please try to connect again.

  • Oracle Sql Developer

    Dear all,

    I use oracle 10G r2 on windows.

    I downloaded developer sql to convert the ms sql server Oracle 10 g database.

    but the thing is that when I'm trying to give third driver database driver sql developer i.e. (jtds) party not to update the same.

    someone can tell me step by step driver update not online but the update offline for sql developer.

    I know, it's
    1) go to tools and click on the "preference".
    (2) go to help
    (3) control upgrade.

    but it does not please answer me if anyone know step by step to update the driver.

    thnkss...

    Hello

    (1) jtds - 1.2 - dist.zip download here
    http://sourceforge.NET/projects/jTDS/files/jTDS/1.2/
    Note, Important that you use this version.

    (2) unzip it, we really want the jtds - 1.2.jar inside.

    (3) open SQL Developer. Tools > Preferences > Database > third party JDBC drivers

    Add entry > choose jtds - 1.2.jar
    Click OK

    Now you should be able to create a connection to SQL Server and start the migration.

    Kind regards
    Dermot

  • Creation of a new database Oracle and Sql Developer

    Hello

    I am a newbie to Oracle and and a beginner not so Sql Server and Visual Studio.

    I am trying to learn Oracle on my local machine. I want to create a new Oracle database and start learning from here.

    I downloaded the Client Oracle sql developer and maker of data. Could someone please provide some guidance on how to create an Oracle database?

    From the responses, it seems that none of the articles I've mentioned actually creates a database. SQL Server provides a free download, also a developer version for a small fee. What specific Oracle product would be better to provide this type of service?

    Thank you
    Mark

    You can download the company for educational use via the OTN site. There is also the Express edition, which includes limits on the OTN site as well.

    Whatever it is, read the agreements to make sure that you use it properly.

  • A question about the Oracle SQL Developer Oracle instance connection

    Hi all

    I would be grateful if you could kindly give me a helping hand.

    Recently, I installed the Oracle 11 g on Linux (ubuntu 8.10) database. I not create startup scripts. So here's how I start the server: (my linux user name is "dariyoosh", but in order to start the server I have connection on the terminal shell as user 'oracle')
    dariyoosh@alborz:~$ su oracle
    Password:
    oracle@alborz:/home/dariyoosh$ cd
    oracle@alborz:~$ ORACLE_SID=database01
    oracle@alborz:~$ . oraenv
    ORACLE_SID = [database01] ?
    The Oracle base for ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1 is /u01/app/oracle
    oracle@alborz:~$ sqlplus '/as sysdba'
    ...
    SQL> STARTUP NOMOUNT
    ORACLE instance started.
    ...
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE MOUNT;
    ...
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE OPEN;

    Database altered.
    Then I can work without any problems with my database and everything works pretty well. Today, I decided to install Oracle SQL Developer IDE as it makes it easier to modify the SQL code. My problem is that after reading the tutorial Oracle online, that I am still able to connect to my database. Firstly according to the method that I wrote, I have set up the Oracle instance. But then when I run Oracle SQL Developer I don't know what to choose for the user name and password? because since SQL * Plus shell as you can see I always write: "sqlplus 'virtue sysdba' and it does not prompt me for any password, I can access the database directly." Any idea? What password? What user name? for Oracle SQL Developer?

    Thanks in advance.

    When you connect "/ as sysdba", you actually connect as the user named SYS from the privileges of your operating system. SYS is the owner of the database and a privileged user. You really want to use this username for the day to day operations, but only for what can do only SYS. If you need a different user name. Several Oracle databases have a user named SCOTT who has a number of tables for use tutorial. By default, the password for SCOTT's "Tiger." You may also have other demo users, such as "HR". I admit that I forgot what is the password of the HR, but it doesn't really matter because SYS can change with this command:

    ALTER USER hr IDENTIFIED BY whateveryouwant;

    This command:

    SELECT USERNAME FROM ALL_USERS;

    lists all the users in your database. Understand that many of these users are there as owners of objects such as stored procedures and tables for Application Express, or TYPEs for Oracle Locator, not for general use. When you are ready to create your own objects, ask SYS create a username for them with

    CREATE USER myusername IDENTIFIED BY mypassword;

    and grant that user the privileges as necessary. You'll want to read before you get too far - I think that the developer of the Application Guide is a good starting point.

  • Oracle SQL Developer to the database unifying connection

    Hello community!

    I am developing a SQL string that will pull data from various processes of cost (i plan to wrap the dataview object in a cube and publish a dashboard after that). I was wondering if there is any way to connect oracle SQL Developer for oracle hosted instance unify to create code more efficiently? If so, explain the steps for me please?

    I can get the following information of Oracle BI Publisher, see Exhibit A.

    I have to fill in the fields in Appendix B and this is where I don't know how to do this, see Exhibit B.

    Your help is highly appreciated

    Concerning

    Amir

    Hi Amir - there is currently no way to directly connect to the DB for unifying hosted environments. We are currently working on this issue.

    In the meantime, you can use the SQL Editor in your BI Publisher server interface. You build instructions SQL can then be pasted in via data in unifying views.

  • Why is-menu Oracle SQL Developer navigation so slow?

    For example if I click Tools, it takes like 5 seconds to open.

    The cursor icon taking also like 2-3 seconds to next day where it is.

    Oracle SQL Developer has impressive features, but I can't use it like that.

    Can anyone help or point in a direction?

    It's a nice machine but I remote desktop to it, but the rest of the applications are working fine.

    #added it

    AddVMOption - Dsun.java2d.noddraw = true

    AddVMOption - Dsun.java2d.ddoffscreen = false

    looks a bit better

  • Partitions don't synchronize only not - Oracle SQL Developer 4.1.3.20

    Hello

    First of all, thanks a lot for developers for this great tool.

    I use the Data Modeler which comes with Oracle SQL Developer 4.1.3.20.

    In the 12 c database, I created the following table:

    CREATE

    TABLE MMOURA. TEST_TABLE

    (

    NUMBER OF ID_TEST_TABLE (10) NOT NULL

    DATE_TEST_TABLE DATE NOT NULL

    )

    ORGANIZATION HEAP PCTFREE 10

    LOGGING NOCOMPRESS NO INMEMORY

    NOCACHE NOPARALLEL NOROWDEPENDENCIES DISABLE THE MOVEMENT OF THE LINE;

    I import with Data Modeler and add the partition:

    CREATE

    TABLE MMOURA. TEST_TABLE

    (

    NUMBER OF ID_TEST_TABLE (10) NOT NULL

    DATE_TEST_TABLE DATE NOT NULL

    )

    ORGANIZATION HEAP PCTFREE 10 TABLESPACE SYSTEM NOT LOGGING NOCOMPRESS NO INMEMORY RANGE PARTITION

    (

    DATE_TEST_TABLE

    )

    INTERVAL OF

    (

    NUMTOYMINTERVAL (1, 'MONTH')

    )

    (

    PARTITION P_BEFORE_2010 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE (JANUARY 1, 2010 ',' DD/MM/YYYY "")) NOCOMPRESS

    )

    NOCACHE NOPARALLEL NOROWDEPENDENCIES DISABLE THE MOVEMENT OF THE LINE;

    So I can create a partition and generates the correct code.

    I click on "Synchronize data dictionary with model" and see the differences with the model and the database.

    In the models 'compare', 'Physical Details' is red. 'Partition' is red, "Selected" are marked, "Source table: TEST_TABLE ' is YES and" target Table: TEST_TABLE "is no.

    "Partitioning" is marked, and I can see the new partition "P_BEFORE_2010."

    teste_partition_chamado_oracle.png

    But when I click on 'Overview of DOF', theres no changes:

    -Generated by Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler 4.1.3.901

    -in: 2016-01-14 14:19:50 BRST

    -site: database Oracle 12 c

    -type: Oracle Database 12 c

    -Oracle SQL Developer Data Model Summary Report:

    --

    -CREATE TABLE 0

    -CREATION OF INDEX 0

    ...

    ...

    In the tool preferences, model, synchronization, it is marked:

    FUNCTION

    PACKAGE

    PROCEDURE

    ROLE

    SEQUENCE

    SYNONYM

    TABLESPACE

    In "Import Options", it is marked:

    Partitions

    Triggered

    What I am doing wrong? Is this some sort of bug?

    Hi Marcio,

    I'm afraid that data Modeler does not "DOF Preview" statements for changes in the distribution.

    Kind regards

    David
