Convert existing VM will not hard drive space increase

Hi guys, hope someone can help.

I have converted a Windows 2008 R2 from a 5 ESXi ESXi 5.5 server.
Conversion was successful without error, however, did not increase the HARD disk space.  Under disk management, it shows the correct space (700 GB) Yes in computer science, it remains still to 200 GB?

I tried a new analysis of the discs, but it makes no difference.

What have I done wrong?

How can I fix this please?

TA...

OK, I fixed it.

That's what I did.

I downloaded a free partitioning tool here: http://www.disk-partition.com/partition-assistant-lite.html

I used this tool to shrink the partitions (as shrink Windows would not work) then used the windows Disk Manager to resize and everything looks correct now.  Its a remapped to the table to partition properly.

Hope this helps anyone with the same questions.

Can be any number of things.  One possibility is the restoration of the system, which, by default, uses up to 12% of your hard drive.  An older version of Zone Alarm (6.5) creates very large files which have been followed by SR (http://bertk.mvps.org/html/tips.html#16 ).  In general, the default should be changed so that the space allocated to the SR should be limited to 1 GB (seehttp://bertk.mvps.org/html/diskspace.html ).

Rather just guessing, download and run (free) JDiskReport , allowing you to know what is too much space.  Once you know, after return to get advice on how to deal with it.

Sorry, you can not. A CRC error means that there is a serious problem with your drive. You need to replace it.

  • Is there a reason to save the original NEF files after import for the LR in the form of files 'convert to DNG?  Is there a reason to save the two versions?  The NAVE seems to have no further use other than too much hard drive space.

Is there a reason to save the original NEF files after import for the LR in the form of files 'convert to DNG?  Why save versions when the DNG is the original and the NAVE seems to just take remote hard drive space?

I see no reason to keep them, they take a lot of space, one of the reasons to convert to DNG is that they are almost 20% smaller than the ships.

But it is of course your choice...

  • can I use an external hard drive to increase the disk space and memory on xp?

I am considering an external hard drive of 1 TB to trasmet all files on the computer. There is little hard drive space and memory left. Can I use the external hard drive free space and can it will be installed via USB and use my operating system?

You can use the external hard drive to transfer your data from your internal hard drive.  Cannot move system files (such as Program Files, Windows and swap files) well.  Looks like your use of the word 'memory' made reference to disk space - it normally refers to which an external drive would not affect RAM.  If you mean disk space, however, you can certainly free SPAC drive this way.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

I have 2 failure windows 7 installs with 35 GB of hard drive space. but I find no windows.old file?

The first installation failed because I had a copy of counterfeit Windows 7.

I bought another copy and installed. Then, I got a horrible virus/worm that disabled all .exe files and the fix was just beyond me!

I installed again but did not know that the previous facility where still there.

I tried to clean the disc, but I don't me "from previous versions of windows" to clean.

I find no windows.old file. (Enabled hidden files)

Only I have a disc ssd 60gig and want the missing 35gig kindly returned to use.

    Can someone help?

Check the system restore to see how much disk space it uses:

    Click Start

    Right click on computer

    Click on properties

    Click on advanced system settings

    Click on the System Protection

    Click on configure

Adjust the amount of disk space allocated to system restore.

In addition, the amount of RAM you have installed, it will take more disk space for paging, hibernation, and dump files.

  • Bridge takes a lot of hard drive space

    Hello world

IM new to this forum and new also for Photoshop CS6 and everything that surounds it.

I had a small question which may be simple to you guys but its been annoys me a bit

I work with bridge this morning and import pictures in it. Then I looked at my hard drive space and he was down about 5 GB. I do not change or do anything special, just imported photos so it would be easier when I start using PS CS6. Is it normal when I import images that it takes up little space on my hard drive. I thought that the bridge was used only to create a link between my photo file and Psalm I then tried to remove the images in Bridge to see if space would come back available, but it didn't. Anyone? Please help me to answer my questions?

    Thank you

PS: I have 164 GB of free space on my hard drive, if it helps. Thanks again

What you see is normal.  Once you import pictures Bridge generates a cache file, then you can disply a thumbnail.  Delete the picture will still retain the thumbnail, which is the function of compact cache.

The options you choose depend on the size of the cache.   Embedded thumbnails takes less space.  If you check generate and save previews of 100% that will really increase the size of the cache folder.

See this thread for more information on the cache.  http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1094509?TSTART=0

  • If I reinstall the original software, which removes the existing files from my hard drive?

I accidentally deleted programs that my computer needs access to the Internet.  I tried the system restore, but nothing.  Can I re - install the original software without compromising documents on the hard drive?

    Thank you

    Hi Jill,

Yes, reinstall the programs would not remove the existing files on your hard drive. Your old files remain unchanged

  • I lose a hard drive space every day on my Windows 7 computer

My computer is barely a month.  I only put on about 6 programs, all with small footprints.  I transferred to about 70 GB of files.  I know that the system uses the memory out of the box, but even with all that taken into account, that I can't take into account more than 40 GB of space and the amount increases every day.

I was check and each day I lose a few GB of hard drive space.  Where's he going?  There is much info on Vista and some of its features that uses a hard disk space, I guess than some that apply to Windows 7.  But seriously, for example I lost 2GB between yesterday and today, and I have absolutely nothing to the computer.

Clean temporary files and use Disk Cleanup to reclaim space.  But it is usually minimal and it does not take into account what I lose.  I have the system to restore all of the space to a fairly small percentage.  In summary, I think I have everything correct in order to minimize the use of hard drive, but the space is to be consumed at an alarming rate.  No virus, MSE is on the system and did not find a thing.

Where the hell the space continues?  I am glad that I have a large hard drive, so there is move the room, but it's ridiculous to have disk space available endangered on its own.  I don't know that it's associated BONE.  Thoughts?

  • My (C) hard drive space becomes low. What can I do?

    Hello

My Windows Update is set to the recommended level. (C) hard drive space becomes low and other drives (E, F, G) have enough space. What happens if the C drive space comes to level down while Windows Update is taking place. The minimum amount of space have stand to drive C? How to manage the process?

    Your cooperation will be appreciated.

    Thanks & Rgds,
    Solvemachine

You really need to think about 15%, a minimum of free space on the disk.

Your 1st task is to try to identify the cause of the lack of space. Things like music, photos and especially video may gradually creep on you.

TreeSize here is quite useful to work where space is gone.

Libraries can be moved. Expand 1st level of etiquette in the left pane to display the top folder and right-click. The location of the tab, you can change the location of one of the empty discs and it will copy all files when you click on move. If you have more than one user, it is best to create a record of the user for each group and then do it for each of them. Don't forget to check the new location is included in all of the backups.

Also use disk cleanup too. Open the computer, right click on the C drive, and then click Properties. Click Disk Cleanup. For more options in the result, click on the option of system files and see what you can get rid of.

  • Many disappear from the hard drive space

    Hello

Recently I factory reset my computer and proceeded to put some of my old files save them on the computer. Some of the files were games, but I realized that I couldn't play without resettlement of their records. I was unable to uninstall properly an any of them, so I just deleted files - but I noticed after I had deleted the files that I had lost more (about 30-40 GB worth) hard disk space

When I went to reinstall these games of their records, I found that they were taking about three times as much space as they said they would be (for example, it said it would take up to about 3.5 GB of space, but it ended up taking 11 concerts of my DD)

Since then, I've lost an another 30 concerts without doing anything.

Is there a reason for this? I scanned my computer for any sort of malware with two different anti virus systems, and they all come in white. I have two firewalls running as well, so I highly doubt that it is malware.

I managed to solve the problem.

System Restore has been fixed to raise as much as 50% of my hard drive space. I have since lowered to a more reasonable amount and have obtained a large part of the rear of space SD, and I at least know where the rest. Thank you very much for the help.

  • Deleted photos appear not to be freeing up hard drive space

I just deleted a ton of photos of Photos to free up space on my hard drive, but nothing seemed to change - why is - this?

    Thank you

    Hello mknj,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how it is important to keep your Mac organized and your free storage space, and I want to help him. Just to be sure, after you remove the photos in question, did you also remove them from the "Recently deleted" album in the Photos app? This is like the trash on your mac but specific photos, giving you an extra chance to save your photos that you not wanted to delete. Until that they are excluded from this album space on your Mac will remain full.

To find this Album open the Photos app and click 'Albums' tab on top and click to open it. To empty this album 'Delete All' at the top click or select the photos you want to delete and click Delete.

If you have already done so, try restarting your computer and again controlled storage. Let us know if you have any other problem, and the whole community will be there to help.

    Best regards.

  • CentOS 64 comments sees not any HARD drive space

    Hi all

    Here is the configuration...

WS 7.1 installed on Win7 64 as the host.

(Repeatedly) installed CentOS 5.4 64-bit with 20 GB HARD drive (all other details by default), but after installing friendly CentOS 64, I only 1.2 GB of free space, and the total size of the mounted file system is only 3.8 GB.

I tried pre-alocating the disk, same results. I've updated CentOS post install, same results.

Is this a known issue with between these two?

You have selected the option Easy Install of VMware Workstation or did you install directly from CD?

If you have set up Easy-Install, disconnect the diskette drive in the virtual machine settings and delete the autoinst.flp in the folder of the virtual machine. Then run the installation again, by booting directly from the CD.

  • Vista Home creates removable at startup drives when none exist and will not work my mapped drive

    Hello

I'm trying to fix and the problem I am having with my Vista Home.  I got this machine running for two years with the same program that requires a G: drive.

All of a sudden when I start the machine there are some removable drives created (F, I, M) and my G drive has a big X on this subject.  I create my G drive with a .bat file and when it is run, it says Invalid G drive.

I can get my G working disk by clicking on one of the removable drives and choose safely remove.  After that I can click on my drive and it comes back.

Anyone has any idea why it is?  And what I do about it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi JRCPDXOR,

There is a possibility that this computer can contain some infections malware or virus causing the abduction drives created at startup.
First of all, I would say that you remove the external hard drive from the computer and then scan the computer for any infection and remove.
