Convert the local Word to indesign character style formatting

Hello

I have a Word doc with local formatting (no paragraph or character style)

Is there a way I can convert all text which is Times New Roman Italic in a style of character so that I can format everything at the global level?

Any help in this would be be surprising (250 pages)

  • The different paragraph of distinct character style formatting

    Hello

In my paper, I have bunch of paragraphs and each begins with the name (two or three words). Character style is applied to each name. Now, I want to add the paragraph after each name of each mark is so in its own paragraph. Of course, I can do it manually, hitting enter after each name, but I was wondering if there is a more efficient way through search/replace or perhaps GREP.

    Thank you!

Try this on a copy to be sure, but I think finding ^. + and set the format to find the character style, and then change to $0, you can also set the change of any character Style Format and a new paragraph Style that is applied by the character style formatting.

This will probably leave you with a space at the end of the paragraph, or the beginning of the next. The location will depend on if the style is applied to the space. If this is the end of the paragraph, you can use find find ^(.+) (\s) and change to $1

If it's at the beginning of the next paragraph, in my opinion, you need a second query, Find ^ /s (leave find it empty format or the value initially attributed the paragraph style) and do not fill the field exchange.

  • I'm looking for links Hypertext in find/replace the dialogue (without applying a character style).

I have 7000 hyperlinks in my document, with different character styles ("italic", "bold" and "italic +"BOLD""). I need to apply the blue color to each of them. If I ask a new character style "hyperlink" to all, I'll lose my formatting.

Is there a way to find hyperlinks (for themselves, not their format) dialog find/replace in order to create and apply 4 different character styles ('hyperlink_regular', 'hyperlink_bold', 'hyperlink_italic' and ' hyperlink_bold + italic")?

Help please. I'm trying to convert a local account log in on a Windows PC to a microsoft account so I can activate parental controls for my son. God knows why you can't control a local account not more. However, I do not get an option to convert - any help appreciated please.

You should be able to do it by opening the PC Settings page and select "Accounts" (the fastest way there is in the start menu, click on the picture of the user and select ' edit photo account ").

Just under the user name, you should see a link: "To connect to a Microsoft account" click on a link and follow the instructions.

  • convert the money data type in a decimal format 2.

What is the best way to convert the money data type in a decimal 2 format in ms sql 2005 for use in my applications.

    This?

    CAST (tr.depositReceivedAmount AS decimal (10, 2))

I respectfully disagree with the idea that you must change the query column a type of 'money' data to something else.

In most database servers, "«argent» Silver" is a data type that is designed to provide a very homogeneous behaviour with regard to the arithmetic accuracy.  In Microsoft Access, the representation is a the whole scale.  MS SQL Server, it is obviously similar.  Ditto Oracle and others.

You like that the money data type in the database for this clarification, because "hell has no fury like an accountant looking for a bad penny."   The column of database storage formats are designed to satisfy the accountants, and it's a good thing.

Meanwhile, you also want to take care as to exactly how you are dealing with values.  There are several points where the district could take place.  You don't have available the strongest possible manipulation of the floating of the data types in ColdFusion.  You also are somewhat at the mercy of any interface software can be between you and that SQL server, you can use.  "It is correct to all about values , but not several times."

I suggest to round the value just before the display and user input must be two decimals.

Then, you may need to do some things at the end of SQL server.  For example, when you update a value in the table, you may need to use logical server to explicitly truncate the value to two decimal places, as well as an update of "$ 34,56" explicitly updates the column "$34,5600.."  (This kind of thing should happen in the context of SQL Server).  You know that the user entry has exactly two significant digits, but maybe (maybe not...)! SQL server may not know this.  You want to ensure that the stored server internally represents exactly two digits, when the origin of a user input value.

Do not err on the side of "convenience" or "which seems." good on the screen  (If you do, get ready get telephone communications of the accountants, always at inappropriate times of the night.)

  • After the creation of these character styles, apply clear replacements...

    Hello world

After you import the Word document into InDesign CS3 in some paragraphs, there are some substitutions of style. InDesign formatting styles are not correctly designed with paragraphs. Even if that word styles are mapped with InDesign styles exactly. If I select all paragrahs and click on the 'Clear the replacements' option in the palette paragraph styles, all InDesign formatting styles are applied correctly, but the character style formatting are removed. So I planned to create the script for each font style character style and each formatting characters. After doing this I can clear overrides paragraph hassle styles. Please suggest how simply this script and make it run faster that anyone can suggest me. Also suggest me how can add this "Clear Override" syntax with this script. I want to make this very effective script. Thanks in advance to all.

    Concerning

    Indana

    Enough basic syntax, really.

First, as indicated in the documentation, the argument is optional; Second, its default behavior is "All". You get 'all', because you have not provided any argument, and you expected something else. Apparently, you want to clear the formatting only. Just use

    myStory[j].clearOverrides(OverrideType.PARAGRAPH_ONLY);

Notice that the documentation indicates the return type of this function is zero; This means that you get no return value, and it is of no use to "store" the result in a variable myOvClr.

  • How to choose a character style instead of the entire text selection when running a script?

I tried to change this line which is to select all the numbers:

This line is all, but by selecting all numbers. It only checks if there is more than one selected item. Selection of texts always returns the length of 1. That's why this review.

    And given what I've offered before, all you have to do in Jongware script to match your needs is to add app.findGrepPreferences.appliedCharacterStyle = theStyle;

Well, it depends on what small caps you want. If it is small capitals, you can create it with:

    myDoc.characterStyles.add ({name: "SC", capitalization: Capitalization.SMALL_CAPS})

Otherwise, if you want to OpenType Small Caps (which may or may not work, depending on the font you're using)

    myDoc.characterStyles.add ({name: "SC", capitalization: Capitalization.CAP_TO_SMALL_CAP})

  • GREP search: match between character styles

I fight with it, even if it sounds very simple.

In a huge document, I need to find each space with these two features:

    (1) the space has no model of applied character

    (2) the space located between text1 and text2 which have the style applied X character.

    In other words:

    < text1 [Character Style X] > < space [Character Style None] > < Text2 [Character Style X] >

    How would you do that?

The reason why you are struggling is that GREP can match two specified character styles, or two specified paragraph styles in the same time. This will require script.
