CookieManager Android in BB10 equivalent

Hi all

Y at - it something like an Android CookieManager in BB10?

I need to set the cookie policy in BB10:

CookieManager mCookieManager = new CookieManager();
mCookieManager.setCookiePolicy (CookiePolicy.ACCEPT_ORIGINAL_SERVER);
CookieHandler.setDefault (mCookieManager);

Is it possible to do this in the BB10 or I'll have to manaually all using QNetworkCookie?

  • Is BlackBerry Z30 Aliendalvik signalling to bb10, good? (Notifications android on BB10?)

    Hi all

    I currently own a phone of la Jolla, as well as a potential to replace it with a device (probably Z30) BB10.

    Let me explain my problem.

    On the features of la Jolla, there is a problem with alert (sound/event) to run applications Android Jolla messaging system.

    For example,.

    Jolla doesn't have a native Skype client. So, we use one Android. Drink whenever there is an event (call, message), it is silent - not only by sound but there is no trace of it in our events. I don't see an Android application event when I actually open Skype.

    Is it not better to BB10?

    I know that BB has a native Skype client, so this probably isn't a problem, but it's more a question of a general nature. I am Freelancer, using various native clients freelance (so not only a matter of Skype) are available only for Android and a few other platform which is (for my reasoning) not worth mentioning, but I need to be alerted when a message or event occurs.

    I hope I did my clear inquty.

    I am an old user of Nokia (before WP), and I think that, at this moment, BB has the best support of productivity with is the hub.

    I hope you can help me.

    Best regards

    István

    Short answer, yes - Android notifications are working properly on BlackBerry 10.

    The BlackBerry Hub separates the notifications in a separate signal from the main for your email, messaging apps etc. Currently, BB10 does not differentiate between different types of Android applications and thus all notifications are simply put into notifications of power on the hub. This isn't a perfect solution (I wish that the differentiation between apps, and better integration of notifications - for example, display notifications in instant messaging applications in a similar way to BBM), but it does not work and you will not fail to notifications.

    With regard to the Skype application - it is not a native BlackBerry application. I don't know if it's just door Android version on as a BlackBerry app or if it is simply provided via world of BB Android apk, but either way it is certainly not a pure BlackBerry app - it is also outdated compared with Android, making it preferable to use the latest version of Android if possible.

    I hope this helps.

    The map of Google apps in BlackBerry are using Google maps directly (via WebWorks or AIR). They are not dependent on libraries of the device.

  • Android.cfg file not created - BB10 Push Notification

    I'm enbaling push notification in my android app BB10 runtime. I'm following this doc to implement the push. I developed the Android using Novell project. I tried different ways to create the file cfg under bar.

    1. Before you create the apk, added the cfg file in the root of the project name of the application (tried naming as android.cfg also).
    2. Using this apk, I generated the .bar file, but Android folder, res folder and apk file do not exist, cfg file is not exist.
    3. Then I tried to add file cfg under bar file after you have created the apk but before signing bar leader, but I started getting the following error:

    Hello

    Could you please clarify your question?

    If you want to convert your Android for BB10 app so here you have the tools and documentation reconditioning:

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/Android/tools/

    Your Android app should contain no native code and be compatible 2.3.3.

    If you want to know how to publish your application duly completed to the BlackBerry World so I recommend starting here: https://developer.blackberry.com/devzone/blackberryworld/adding_new_apps_and_digital_goods.html

  • Read Android app events

    I have an Android app that reads the events calendar on the phone using the request of content provider.  When I Pack this app to work on a phone blackberry 10.3, the cursor is no event, even though I know that there are events on the phone.

    This is supported in the Runtime Android for BB10?  If not, is there a different way for me to have access to events calendar for an Android app?

    Contacts by using the content provider query works like inserting new contacts.

    Thanks a lot for your help.

    Aliza

    The team is actually aware of the issue, so it is possible that it can be implemented in a later version of the runtime.

  • Using application server MCG for pushing BB

    Hi all!

    I am currently a porting Android to BB10. This application supports push notifications and I wish the portability to BB10 too. I understand the client side manages very well now. However, what I wonder is:

    On the page "Creation Push.enabled Android apps", he said "a similar web query." Then here in the forums and the SDK push he speaks on the PAPER size. So the question is: what changes should I actually do my application server to push properly? The page doesn't have much info on this topic... In reading the page I I would assume switch simply the URL for the BB it and value. But now I guess this isn't the case?

    If we really need to use a completely different format to the push initiator, then this should be documented here. Cause, that would mean that we really need to implement from scratch.

    Thank you

    Max

    The format you send must be the same - the only difference is to send it to the BlackBerry instead of GCM servers. The only tricky part is to know what kind of device the user is on.

  • Problem of the activity lifecycle

    Hello

    I am trying to transfer our Android to BB10 app and I am facing a problem with the life cycle of activity.
    In our application, we have a TextView with linkified text inside - only phone numbers. When the user clicks on a link, the dialer application is open with the loan number to be dialed. The problem is the sequence the activity lifecycle callback methods are called: when the dialer application is opened, the first method called is Activity.onPause () - it's OK. But after that is automatically called the Activity.onResume () and Activity.onPause () methods. This occurs without a change in navigation - we still have the Dialer app on the foreground activity. Now, when the user navigates to our application - NO method is called - NO reminder of the life cycle - NOTHING... and the application does not meet the user interaction. After that the application is moved to the background again and for the second time... the Activity.onResume () are called and applications is again active and reactive.

    An idea for a workaround?

    Thanks in advance

    Just an update:

    We have updated our device test to 10.3.1.634, and the good news is that this problem is SOLVED, as well as other issues, I presented previously.

  • BB 10 Deploy Error

    Hi, I'm porting an application from Android to BB10.

    While deploying the application, I get this:

    Info: Action: install

    Info: installation...

    actual_version::1.0.1.0
    result::failure-12
    com.qnx.bbt.deploy.Deploy$ DeployException: result::failure-12

    What does it mean-12? I guess this is the error code.

    After that, the app on my Q10 can be seen, but does not load (crashes automatically) opening.

    HELP please.

    -12 means you are using a version of Android SDK higher than what is supported on the device.  You will need to compile with a support of the Android SDK version.  Assuming you are using BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 you will need to build targeting Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 or lower.

  • BlackBerry tablet OS native sdk, should I use it?

    Hello

    I am an experienced C/C++ developer, but have no experience with BlackBerry.

    I wonder do the research as evidence of the application of the concept on BlackBerry.

    (1) is the native SDK for platform able to target BlackBerry non-tablettes BlackBerry Tablet OS?

    (2) where to find some QAnywhere to the APDU commands Exchange with the jury on SIM card?

    Thank you

    WebWorks is the only supported way to target all phones.

    Another option would be to support a Java application with a base of code designed to target older phones of the BB as the Android player, BB10 taking place.
