Cookies and issue of profile

How Firefox stores cookies? In other words, I understand that they are stored in a file in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\d3z0e911.default. In one or several files called Cookies.sqlite. I have PC Tools Performance Toolkit and I delete Cache, Cookies and address bar history. Problem is when it deletes this I lose my profile and must move all around back. It seems that there is no way to delete or save cookies in PC Tools PT individually. Is there a way to prevent the Performance Toolkit to remove my profile? Which of the 3 above will allow the profile to stay?
My other option is to use Firefox to delete my cookies and history. In this case, if Firefox stores cookies in a single file, how great Firefox does allow this file get? Firefox retains a certain size of the files that contain cookies? The reason I ask is that if I remove the cookies form Firefox I am only able to 'Remove Cookie' or 'remove all Cookies '. I can't select some cookies to keep.
All-in-all but I like Firefox so far. Everything seems simple except for get themes. I can't seem to find a quick way to do it, but I'll get it.

Yes it will keep Cookies, but later, you can also delete unwanted Cookies

  • Cookies and redirects

    Hello

I'm having a problem with cookies. I have a page that requires no authentication, but is part of an application with a custom authentication scheme.

If I disable cookies in the browser, I get an infinite loop error. Apparently, according to my tests with Fiddler is that Apex is trying to set a cookie and redirect again and again affecting a new cookie value each time.

Now I realize that Apex needs cookies to work but I need my pages accessible to this Facebook thing and it seems to be scraping pages without cookies.

Is it possible to create a page in the Apex that does not require a cookie to see?

  • big problem with detection of cookies and javascript

So I try to detect if the user has javascript or cookies enabled. I need them to have both, but all the sites I found were terrible ways to detect these.

I'll start with my COOKIE problem. Even if I disable acceptance of cookies in my browser, I use cfcookie to create cookie.test and then check further down in the same script with isdefined() if cookie.test exists, it says it does! Now, I'm guessing that this is because coldfusion isn't actually create the cookie until the end of the loading page, so maybe it just treats it as a regular variable before the end of the page load? If I put the cookie and then do a cflocation to another page and check for the cookie, it does NOT exist. Now it works normally for me, but the problem is, when I do this cflocation to the other page I lose completely all the variables of my url that someone may have moved the page they are viewing. I have no way of knowing what are the variables URLs they're going.

The issue of javascript is basically the same. The most common method I've seen done a noscript meta refresh, but in ie 7, the user can disable meta refresh! Even if I used meta refresh, I lose all my variables in the url.

Is it possible to place the entire url variable string at the end of a url without even knowing what (if any) url variables have been set?

I could just cfparam variables URLs that could possibly have been submitted and then post with all THE of them, but there are hundreds, if this isn't really an option.

Help, please. I can't believe in the 4 hours of search I could not find an intuitive cookie or a javascript detection method. Thank you in advance, I feel like i "im going crazy because of this.

  • All IT gurus out there who know Firefox... have lost the passwords saved when FF created a new profile and delete old files key3.dbf and logins.json profile.

All IT gurus out there who know Firefox... have lost the passwords saved when FF created a new profile and delete old files key3.dbf and logins.json profile. Any ideas, anyone?

    So it's not a logins.json file?

I see a signons3.txt file and a file signons.sqlite older, if you can try to see if you can import passwords stored in this file.

You can force Firefox to re-import the passwords in the file signons.sqlite and regenerate the file logins.json with the following steps:

    • reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
    • Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder

When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true.
You have passwords that are imported in the password manager, unless there were errors or signons.sqlite signons3.txt.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • can not put cookies and exceptions on the same screen. Need to fix this.

Went to the options today and the format has changed. Now I can't put Cookies and Exceptions on the same page at the same time. It is vital that I can put together up to manage cookies. Please fix this. Anyone have any ideas?

You can enable/disable browser.preferences.inContent false on the topic: page config to restore the autonomous Options/preferences window you had in previous versions of Firefox.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • Firefox leaves behind cookies and form history and research?

I have Firefox value Never don't forget no form & search history, delete cookies after closing, delete the cache after closing. However, if I do and scan with Ccleaner I notice that Firefox seems to leave behind the cache, cookies, and form data? Why is it not completely eliminated? They are just empty files?

SQLite files are never deleted or size reduced if the content is removed, so you can not tell by their presence if all data are left in it.
There may be some records marked as being removed still left in the file that would not display in the user interface.
You will need to check the files with a hex viewer to check that.

I don't know about the cache of the jumplist.
    You may disable this feature.

  • Why Firefox auto delete and replace my profile?

Firefox crashed and when I restarted it was slow. So I restarted again, and then my profile was missing (default location Win 8). It was as if Firefox deleted the old profile and created a new. The profile folder is a different name than the old also. I have my profile saved, so I copied the content in the profile folder, and everything is ok.

However, it is dangerous behaviour on part of FF - auto delete a users profile. I have never seen that before and I've been using FF since ver 1.

Please check that. It is possible that Firefox mentioned something about problems with a reset, but the message is not clear. Given zero looks a lot like restart, but is significantly different in Firefox Lingo!

If your backup was updated, then the folder on the desktop is no longer necessary. If there was a gap between the two, and you miss Favorites, for example, or to restore the tabs and windows open from that moment, we could describe how to extract those.

If you still have a problem with crashing after the reset, you will earn accident data that you submit to Mozilla. Please read the support article "Firefox crashes - help out, prevent and get help fixing accidents" (especially the last section) for steps get the accident report for IDs and then after the most recent here. I do not know how far back that the data will, that is, I don't know if you can see the cause of the accident as soon as possible.
