Cool app for Tungsten T3 & Palm Desktop?

I have an old Tungsten T3 which serves me well.  Recently I started to use the expenses application (v. 4.5.1P) that comes with the Palm OS (v.5.2.1).

I noticed there was no application fees on the Palm Desktop, which I'm running under Windows XP SP2.  So I re-downloaded the latest version of Palm Desktop of T3: version 4.1.4e.  This is the latest version that the palmOne Web site says is available for Windows XP and T3.

"" "If I click on Palm Desktop' help ' on Palm Desktop" Version "General, I see, in the component files,"Expcn20.dll (not found).  I guess this .dll is the application of fees.

On another thread posted, followed by office expenses missing 4.1.4, I see that the application of fees exist for Palm Desktop v. 4.2.  But the palmOne site Web told me that the most recent version for my T3 and Windows XP was v. 4.1.4e.

Issues related to the:

  • Does anyone has tested Palm Desktop v. 4.2 on the Tungsten T3?
  • What's the application of fees available on the Palm Desktop 4.1.4e v. CD-ROM version?  (which I did not)
  • Is it possible to somehow download Expcn20.dll and add it to the installation of Palm Desktop 4.1.4e v.?
  • Any other suggestions?  (not including "buy a new pocket computer", because I'm a poor student )

Palm Desktop which is available for free download from the site of Support of Palm, version 4.1.4e, is a generic version in that it is usable for a variety of devices, but has not all desktop applications (costs, media, etc.).  This is because not all laptop models come with all of these applications, and the downloadable version is really intended to be a safety net for the basic clock only.

For the application of charges for your office, you need to use the original installation disc for your device.

Hi, Brian (Brian Roberts, second player goal o, right?) and welcome to the Community Forums of Palm.

To transfer your data from your desktop, if you have been synchronize your T3 with M$ Outlook you should already be set, since the devices Windows Mobile to Outlook synchronization.  If you use Palm Desktop to synchronize, you will have to migrate the data to Outlook first.  Go to the Knowledge Base of Palm and enter 25263 Solution for the article on how to do it.

  • Palm Tungsten T5: Palm Desktop Version

I lost my hard drive on my laptop and a tent to rebuild.  I had Palm desktop 4.1.4 on it and on my desk.  What is 6,2,2?  Can I load and run with my T5?  I'll be able to hotsync between 2 versions?

Palm Desktop 6.2.2 is the latest version of the software ever made.  It has been designed for Windows Vista and newer Windows versions after that MicroSoft changed the things that broke several more features Palm Desktop 4.x.

Your T5 will work with it, but you can have only one version at a time, not two.

  • Any way to get the files (not apps) for non-persistent floating desktop?

    Hello:

We are currently running a pilot to replace our training labs, with the offices of pool floating non-persistent.  Currently, we are trying to find a way to simply deploy a file folder in the end user's desktop folder.  I tried to watch using Thinapp, but that seems to work only if there are executable files.  In our case, we just have a folder of files Excel & Word we want to have on every desk in the pool.  Is it possible to do, without having to use a part 3?  I was looking at possible ways to do it, but so far I only found ways to do it with the Windows user profile.  It is an option, but we would like to do this at the level of the office pool instead.  Basically, just like Thinapp works but just copy or synchronize files rather that install applications.

I was wondering if anyone else has found a way to do it.  Thanks in advance.

I would probably put the files in the image as the 2nd post mentioned. Another option would be to use some kind of startup script to copy from a network share. Have you looked at the volumes app?

  • Palm Desktop 6.2.2 on Win8.1 synchronization but only showing no data

I'm so happy to have found this forum.  I didn't know there was so much love for the old Palm devices.  I started with a Palm V and worked my way up to a Tungsten T & palm Desktop 4.1.4 on WInXP and everything was so good that I resisted to move away from Palm Desktop, as it is just what I need.  But I just bought a new Win8.1 PC and am having a few problems that I hope someone here can help with.

I have been through help here on the installation of Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and win8 driver and installation has been very good and I couldn't hotsync via USB without apparent problems, except that Palm Desktop does not display any of my palm data!

When I ran hotsync (from cradle palm button) it asks a user name.  My Tungsten T was already used on my XP PC and was full of data.  If I entered the username of tungsten and hotsync continued.  It took a few minutes or so (as would be expected) and once finished he said that everything was ok.  I checked the logand Hotsync, it was confirmed that everything was synced properly - but when I open Palm Desktop there is no displayed data.

I then checked the data files in ...documents\Palm OS Desktop\... and addresses and calendar files are present and full of my data.  I've even opened in Notepad and could easily see loads of text ascii among all of the "junk" characters, so it seems that the synchronization process has worked correctly, but none of my Tungsten is displayed in Palm Desktop.

I then added an event on the agenda in Palm Desktop and another event the same day in tungsten.  I then did an another hotsync.  It was reported as a success, but the event of tungsten is not in the office, although the same office appeared on the tungsten.  If the synchronization process seems to work only one way!

I have had it before and would appreciate any help.

OK, try to use the "Palm Hotsync Setup" program found on this page.

    Since you're using an old T | T, maybe that's the answer.

There is a guide available on this site for the migration of data from Palm OS Android, if you are interested.  I made this jump years ago when webOS was finished.  You can find it on their homepage.

  • Palm Desktop 6.2.2 (Treo 650) displays only media

For some reason, Palm Desktop suddenly displays only media. I can't see tasks, calendar or anything else. I don't see any way to display them. Hot sync works as always, but all I see is photos. This could have something to do with my having ran a registry cleaner recently. However, I reinstalled the program (using the repair option), and it still only displays images. What Miss me? I have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall?

As mysteriously as the problem appeared, it has now disappeared. Everything is the display in Palm Desktop as it should. The only possible clue: earlier tonight a message appeared that Media Player had a problem and closes. Only Media Player is not running; around the same time, I had to reload my printer because it wouldn't print a document on hold. I guess something was messed up in Windows somewhere and this was Windows correcting itself.

  • Upgrade Plam Desktop app for Palm Desktop by ACCESS

Have tried to move from Palm Desktop on Vista (Tungsten T) again Palm Desktop by ACCESS that came with a new Centro, I get the message "File in use" during the installation process.  The message is this: the following applications use files should be updated by this Setup. Close the application and click Retry to continue - Windows Explorer (process Id: 1716).  1468, yesterday.

Explorer does not at least visibly.  Yesterday, I ignored this process and passed, but something seems to have gone wrong.  I was not able to sync.  Information about Palm Desktop was missing.

From TT to Centro, I probably have to give up 3rd party applications, but move all the other data (contacts, calendar, Memo, etc.) for Centro.  The tech guy that I was talking last night could not help me and told me to call someone who is familiar with the Palm.  Someone at - he meets a similar problem?

Yes, you will need to update the Docs To Go to 10 or save the files in 2003 for use on the Centro with the current version of the DTG.

Regarding the 3rd party app, the Centro is a newer and improved performance compared to the T.

The Centro has 4 times the internal memory at T has.

If you wish, you can first try to install it on the map and see if there are performance problems. If this isn't the case, then stay on the map. If it seems slow, install in the main memory of Centro.

  • A Palm Desktop allows to load/update a Palm V and Tungsten T2 (separate for each software/data)?

I have a T2 tungsten used for business (in sync with your desktop XP and laptop XP). I recently got a Palm V I intend to use for personal applications / hobby (a controller requiring a serial connection). 2 devices may not be synchronized - in fact, they need their files and separate applications. The current installed desktop application comes from the T2 Setup disk (V 4.1.4).

I need to load an older version of Palm Desktop for Palm V of load/install programs?

How can I load applications Palm v and keep the Palm V files to take charge of the T2 (and now the files synchronization T2 Palm v)?

    DRM for all the advice!

Hello and welcome to the Community Forums of Palm.

As long as you keep a separate Hotsync ID for each of the two devices, you should be able to sync the V of the same installation of office.  Create a separate Hotsync ID will also create a folder of device separated on the desk, at which all the separate data and third-party applications will be synchronized.

Palm knowledge base Article explains how Hotsync two devices on the same office, but also a device on two different workstations:

I tried the blue tooth beaming my contacts from my Palm Tungsten T5 to my BB "BOLD", but it fails (I think that the bluetooth of tungsten is not the Protocol for the "BOLD").
    Running Windows XP, SP2.

Managed to do work! I did events more than 1 month on my Palm device (I had to look at their database of support to get this operation works correctly) which reduced my total to 200. Clearly that removed the offender because all other events transferred via, and now it's the last of my data.

I'm bored of the PIM desktop Windows interfaced with my Palm. Is there a similar app for the storm? It's very painful to type a lot of data in the storm the device. It would be much easier to be able to use my regular keyboard and monitor.

    Hello

Palm has released a bundle which was at the same time:

    • a desktop PIM
    • a connector between the PIM and the Palm device
    • a backup tool
    • a configuration tool

RIM has just introduced a package that is:

    • a connector between a task FORCE and the Palm device
    • a backup tool
    • a configuration tool

To date, some PIM are compatible:

    • Microsoft Outlook
    • IBM Lotus Notes
    • Google Mail/calendar
    • Yahoo! MAil / calendar

If Palm users think that RIM provides fewer features, it is true, but at the same time, it gives you the opportunity to choose your PIM.

  • 64 bit Windows7/8/8.1/10 USB drivers for Palm Desktop

Thank you people much more to Aceeca.com (Palm OS Garnet NEW manufacturers), the USB drivers for Vista, Windows 7 and 8 Win 64 bit operating systems are available.  There are many users Palm Desktop 4.x strives also to the declaration.

I have synced my TX my Vista64 laptop computer bits and Windows 8.1 HP spectrum X 2 hybrid successfully through my USB cable.

    The drivers are located here:

    Aceeca Driver Downloads

(NOTE: as of today, 01/08/2016 Aceeca site to be down for 'construction'.)  Drivers can also be found here: http://www.palmdr.com/windows-7-64-bit-usb-drivers)

Installation instructions for Windows 7 (from Aceeca) are included in the download.

    Basic instructions:

1 download the drivers and extract them in the same folder.  Remember the folder that you extracted to.

    2. try to HotSync your device.  It will fail.

    3. open the Device Manager and look for the yellow Triangle next to the other "Acceca" or "'Palm device ' in the"Other devices"section."

    4. right click on the device and choose "Update driver software".

    5. choose "Browse my computer for software" and guide them to the folder that you extracted the drivers Aceeca.

6 choose 'Next' in the driver and then file location window tell him 'Confidence always Aceeca Ltd. software', then click on the button "install".

    7. I received an error message (Vista64) who told me "the drivers have been installed, but the device could not be opened." I realized my TX had expired, and fell asleep.  I tried a HotSync and it worked!

    Good luck!

NOTE: Palm Desktop 6.22 may only multimedia show and install.  Here's how to fix this:

If Palm Desktop 6.2.2 shows only the media and installation, try this: right click on the shortcut for Palm Desktop, and then choose 'run as administrator '.  Other modules should appear.

To Palm Desktop run as administrator every time in Windows 8 / 8.1:

Close to Palm Desktop, if it is open.  (This is a very important thing to do when you use 6.2.2 - it has been known to lose data when a computer is shut down without closing the program!)

Right click on the desktop icon of Palm in the metro screen, then choose "open file location".  You will now see the actual file for the shortcut.

Right-click on the file "Palm Desktop" shortcut, then properties.  Now, choose the tab compatibility at the top.

At the bottom of the Compatibility tab is a checkbox: "run this program as an administrator", click OK.

Try to open the Palm Desktop, all parties must appear.  You can see a box opens when you close the program asking "did the program runs correctly.   I chose 'Yes', and it has been working fine since then!

If you are using a much older PalmOS device and try using Palm Desktop 4.x, you will need this additional patch Pimlico Software:

It is me, and after some research, I discovered the following trick that allows Device Manager to display hidden and devices not present.

Open Notepad and paste the following two lines are:

    Set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES = 1
    Start devmgmt.msc

Save it as SetDev.bat in My Documents.

Open My Documents in Windows Explorer and double-click SetDev.bat. Device Manager opens.

On the view menu, select Show hidden devices.

You can now see in the other position of the device with a yellow triangle against it.

You can now proceed to install the drivers according to the instructions.

Note that the driver supports most versions of Palm OS. "I actually use an Aceeca Meazura 1000 rugged PDA running OS 4.1 - bobboffin.

  • Transferred to Palm Desktop for Palm Pre event calendar are incorrect

My old phone, a Center, has been synchronized using Palm Desktop 6.2.1 on Vista. I used the data migration tool, and all my data transferred to my Palm Pre. (Just directly Palm Desktop > Palm Pre).

The only problem is that a lot of my events are not on the correct days (ex: an event in Palm Desktop comes Sunday, now appears on my Palm Pre Monday).

I don't have the time to sort out again all my calendar events since this is the case of random events.

Other complaints that I have on the calendar, it's that the birthdays of my contacts do not appear as events, even those in Agenda facebook. In addition, it would be nice to be able to classify the events and color coding in the calendar.

For transfers of schedule of the Palm Desktop, upgrading your Palm Desktop version 6.2.2 (rather than just the 6.2 shown in the migration instructions) will prevent specific annual date all day events, such as birthdays and other events, to appear on the wrong day.

He let still one day of the week of the annual events, like Thanksgiving, the demand for each 1 month instead of every 12 months.  These must be set manually on the meadow.
