Configure Security Center
I already have an anti-virus that is through my internet provider, and now I have to configure my security settings in Windows Vista, can I get help?
Hello
Some antivirus/security products may cause this error. McAfee, Norton, Windows Live OneCare.
ThreatFire are some. What antivirus/antispyware/security products you have on machine now. And
who have you ever on it, even if you have uninstalled them. (These leave the remains that can cause some)
strange questions.)
Check the default services and dependencies to ensure that they are running.

MS Security Center not showint more.
MS Security Center used appears in the quick launch on the right side bar. Now it does not work and I try to understand what has changed. I don't see it in my group of programs either. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Thumper357
HI Thumper,
The area LEFT is the area of quick launch for various programs. There not need an icon of QuickLaunch for the Security Center as it is always running (if things are properly set up) so do not start as other programs, you put here for easy access.
The area on the RIGHT is the Notification area that contains icons of various programs that are running. On my system (32-bit Vista Business SP2), the Security Center does not show more. Indeed, if your right, click on start, click Properties, then click the Notification area tab, then click on customize, you will notice that he is not there as an available option - but that is probably something called Windows security alerts (and make sure it says either "hide when idle ' or 'show' and not 'hide'). In short, there is no icon for the Security Center itself show here all the time, but if an alert occurs, an icon will appear showing the alert if you can open the Security Center and solve the problem. I would, however, make an icon in the tray for MSE is the status of my AV/AM/AS protection.
It is not in the programs as it is not really considered to be a program in itself. It's actually more than one service. To access it, go to start / Control Panel / Security Center. There is no way I know to add a security "always there" don't Center icon to the notification area - there is no configuration option I know so he can appear - but if something is wrong the alert and you will have quick access to the center of security in this way (otherwise you can get to it as described above in this paragraph). I never noticed it there before so I don't know if they took with an update as being unnecessary if alerts will show up or why it's 'away' - but in fact, the important thing is that alerts will appear here and you really only need an icon Security Center if there is a problem to solve - otherwise an icon which shows just right is a waste of space anyway. Changes that are quite rare and you have easy access to it via Control Panel if you want to change (because even once, problems will appear as an alert icon in the notification area that appears only when there is a problem and if it is not there then you know everything is going well with the Security Center).
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

does anyone know why my Security Center can't turn on showe just me a message (windows Security Center cannot be started) what can I do for this?
If someone help me I thank a lot.
Hi belizariocruz cruz,.
· You receive an error with the message code?
· What is the operating system installed on the computer?
This problem may occur if the Security Center service is not configured to run under the Local Service account, but the dependent services are configured to run under the Local Service account.
Note: The following can be used for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Method 1: To resolve this problem, make sure that the Security Center Service and all its dependencies are configured to run under the Local Service account. Set the center of security and its dependencies services to run under the Local Service account.
a. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
b. double-click Security Center, click on tab log .
c. Select "this account" click on the Browse button, type Local Service and click ok.
d. type the password and confirm the password and click ok.
Method 2: You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner for any infection by virus. Check out the following link to do the same thing.

Security Center is missing in the list of services
Security Center is missing in the service list - he deleted the file Trojan horse if yes, how can I get that back, I did a full clean and pc is clear of the wicked, but the Security Center in the control panel says the service Security Center has not started or was stopped. close and restart the computer - nothing helped. I downloaded WSCSVCFIX. EXE and instructions of follow-up but the Security Center file is still missing
Thanks in advance for any help you can give
Edna
Hello edna lillian.
Please review the thread below that has a possible solution for your missing Security Center after removing a virus.
Please note that one of the suggestions is to change the registry. If you are not comfortable making changes in the registry, you may need to communicate with someone who feels qualified to make the changes.
NOTE: Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk...
Please reply back and let us know if this can help.

I get a message that my Windows Security Center is not on, but when I go to the center of the Action it won't let me turn it on. What should I do?
Hello
· You have a third-party security software installed on the computer?
· What is the error message that you receive the error code when you try to turn it on?
· Do you remember all the recent changes on the computer before the show?
· What is the service pack installed on the computer?
Follow the methods below:
Method 1:
Make sure that the Security Center service is configured properly, and then start the Security Center service. To do this, follow these steps:
a. click on start, click on run
(b) in the Open box, type services.msc
c. on the right side of the window, locate the Security Center service in the list of services.
d. right click on Security Center, and then select Properties.
e. in the drop-down list startup type, select Automatic (delayed start).
f. under service status, click Start.
g. click on apply, click OK, and then close the Services window.
Method 2:
Run the verification and virus scan online if any malware or virus detected on the computer activity. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
NOTE: Make sure that you select the correct version of the operating system before downloading the scanner)

Hello
AVG has been known to disable the Security Center.
AVG 8.x and 9.x even caused a lot of problems. If you decide to remove it using their removal tool
and download, but not install any replacement before you run it.Download - SAVE - go to where you put (all) - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT when each
is made and before the following.AVG removal tool

Hello
· Are you can change the Security Center service parameter by using a different user account on the computer?
I suggest you to make sure that Windows Defender is running. Follow the below mentioned articles and check.
Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:
Method 1: I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
Method 2: If the method above is not enough, then I suggest refer you the link try the steps and check if that helps:
How to perform an upgrade on the spot on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 & Windows Server 2008 R2
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2255099
Note:
You can back up data to an external hard drive and no CD. It is essential to back up data even if you do an upgrade on the spot.
