Copy existing attached file of database to the FTP server.

Attachments in our TAM system are currently stored in the database now occupy almost 40% of the database. A decision was taken to transfer these attachments from the database to the file system.

I changed the definition of the URL to point to an FTP server instead of the RECORD://PSFILE_ATTDET delivery, now my question is how to migrate existing attachments from basic to this FTP server.

Book PT CopyAttachments utility takes a very long time and I want to do this in small batches (say through a motor approx.) of my source (db) destination (ftp server). Any ideas?

Create an engine of the application (for example) and use the GetAttachment build - in function to download a file of source record://PSFILE_ATTDET on the file of the application server/processcheduler system.
After that use PutAttachment to transfer files from filedir appserver/processcheduler to the ftp site.

Code would be something like this:

local & rsPSFILE_ATTDET rowset
& rsPSFILE_ATTDET = CreateRowSet (record. PSFILE_ATTDET);
& rsPSFILE_ATTDET. Fill()

i = 1 & at & rsPSFILE_ATTDET. ActiveRowCount
SYSIXCOL = & rsPSFILE_ATTDET(&i).getrecord (1). SysFileName.value;
& ret = GetAttachment ("record://PSFILE_ATTDET", & sysfile, [MakeUpALogicalFileName]);
& ret = PutAttachment ("your ftp site", [GenerateNewSysFileName], [MakeUpALogicalFileName]);
-end;

GenerateNewSysFileName is usually a combination of datetime UuidGen() & %.

You can of course also use CopyAttachments, except that with code above, you have more control of wich batch of transfer by adding a where clause for the instruction of filling clause.

  • (9.2.0.5.0) 9i - Oracle Text - Indexing of Oracle files on the FTP server

    I'm using Oracle 9i (9.2.0.5.0) and I cannot upgrade to a newer version of Oracle DB.
    I am new to this technology, and I have not tried it yet myself.

    I was reading some articles, documents or references on Oracle text technology and I find that Oracle text must be able to create an index of context on files residing on the FTP server.
    I also discovered that, for this purpose, a 'URL_DATASTORE' should be used.

    I'd be happy if someone can answer my question before I decide to start using this technology:
    Is there a limitation that I should be informed when creating index of context on files residing on the FTP server? (file size limit, limitation of the types of files supported)
    -In the creation of the index process are the files indexed, downloaded and copied in the Oracle database permanently or only temporarily until the index is created?
    -Everything is of incremental indexing (when I add new files in the data store that I don't have to rebuild the entire index)?
    There there a formula between context index disk size and the disk size indexed files?

    Kind regards

    Michal

    Is there a limitation that I should be informed when creating index of context on files residing on the FTP server? (file size limit, limitation of the types of files supported)
    Maximum file size is configurable up to 2 GB. No limitation on the file type from the data store itself, but if you want to process binary file list filter suported file formats will apply (see the appendix in the Administrator's guide)

    -In the creation of the index process are the files indexed, downloaded and copied in the Oracle database permanently or only temporarily until the index is created?
    That temporarily

    -Everything is of incremental indexing (when I add new files in the data store that I don't have to rebuild the entire index)?
    The question, I suspect that you see this as a robot - you expect to provide the address of an FTP site and have it look for all documents. This isn't how it works. Instead, you must place all of the URLS in a table, and text will index these URLS (and only these URLs)

    If new files are added, you must reorganize somehow having the new lines added to your table. Then the text will do an incremental update, it will not have to rebuild the entire index.

    There there a formula between context index disk size and the disk size indexed files?
    It varies a lot depending on the data types and indexing of selected options, but a typical result is that the index will be 40% of the total size of the file. However, if the documents are in the format (for example, Word, PDF) the percentage will be much smaller.

  • Can I prevent Dreamweaver CS6 constantly querying the FTP server?

    When I work at the CS6 I little work directly on the FTP server. I do not work in a great team, check in and check out is a feature that is lost to us. So I have the Advanced Server settings to automatically download files when I save them. It works pretty well with the exception that Dreamweaver CS6 seems constantly ask the FTP server anyway. Many times I will go to save and it will throw an error that it cannot download the file now because it is currently interacting with the server.

    In Dreamweaver, I have the log open FTP tab and it is just constantly looking for things on the server at random intervals. It is not to download anything or reconnection. I have no problem at all in fact apart from this connection.

    I poked through settings and I can't find anything that says something like "Stop constantly check the FTP server, it is still there, do not worry there...» »

    Here is the error for all she's worth. I wouldn't bother even complaining about this, except that it happens to me constantly throughout the day. If it was just once or twice I don't care. The other problem is that when the error occurs, it does not save the file locally which is useless in my case also, but since it signals as saved I have to make a change so that he could register and download. So many times I'm waiting so he could stop to interact with the FTP server for no good reason, adding a space, back space and then hit save again. Seriously odious, please tell me there is a setting to stop this behavior.

    dw-error.png

    I have over a decade of experience with Dreamweaver, ongoing Web-based management of dozens of sites. He certainly had periods when FTP was seriously problematic, even after the CS6 updates where he was supposed to have been fixed. I managed to solve the problem on my production machine main actually two things:

    1. Temporarily disable my firewall and antivirus.
    2. Added the string "ResolveRemoteURLToIPAddress" to "Download Remote" in my registry and affecting false.

    #1 told me that my security software may be panic all level access Dreamweaver and perhaps got its hooks in the software so as to jeopardize this access, which causes delays in the transfer file and synchronize operations.

    #2 has been added to disable the feature to resolve the address IP of Dreamweaver, which caused it to sometimes hang when opening existing documents. This feature is enabled by default in the PC version. I don't know if DW interacts with the server just to open the document, or if it is something that occurs on a basis continues. If the latter, then it could be the cause of a lot of frustration "interacting with a server" for many users. More details here: http://helpx.Adobe.com/Dreamweaver/KB/hang-opening-document-Dreamweaver-CS5.html

    Dreamweaver is not as effective for as a standalone application FTP file transfers, because it is programmed to keep track of all the files and folders at any time and take notes of the same thing. For this reason, I always have a FTP program open when I'm working. Having said that, the difficulty of recording, in conjunction with several combinations of firewall and antivirus applications allowed me to find a solution that little close to put an end to my problems of FTP of DW.

  • Disable the FTP server on the server of the Smart Net Total Care collector?

    Quick and easy question, hopefully: How can I disable the FTP server on the server of the Smart Net Total Care collector? I saw not one obvious way anywhere.

    Thank you!

    Hi Luke,.

    SSH into your collector using the "collectorlogin" username and password. If you have not generated that yet, then SSH as 'admin' and create with the command:

    pwdreset collectorlogin 180

    and save the password it generates. Now SSH for the collector using 'collectorlogin' as username and the password have given it previously.

    Now, enter root:

    Su-

    Now, run the command:

    touch $CSPCHOME/donotStartSyslog $CSPCHOME/donotStartSnmpTrap $CSPCHOME/donotStartFtp $CSPCHOME/donotStartTftp; chown casuser:casusers $CSPCHOME / donot *; chmod $CSPCHOME 710 / donot *; epsc service restart

    Who's going to disable SNMP, FTP and TFTP, interrupts which none are needed by the CSPC and can cause performance problems. After you have created these files, it automatically restarts the service of CPA.

    Hey there,

    Unfortunately I deleted a project muse by mistake, now I want to re - edit.

    No, there is no solution, except by using a backup or rebuild the site and use of the goods stored on your FTP server.

  • Export a Table to a flat file and upload to a FTP server for external provider

    I did some extensive research on forums and I think I have an idea, but really need help. Basically to have a table that is to be exported in a flat file and uploaded to an FTP server so that our provider can obtain the data from Monday to Saturday and automated by sysdate. These data are used to produce daily letters that come out to customers.

    After doing some research I came across the UTL_FILE package and read more into that right now, but I don't know if that's what I use to create the file.
    I use TOAD right now and see how the do it manually but really need the file to create itself and send it automatically to 06:00 Monday - Saturday, with the date at the end of the name of the file, which makes a single file for each day.

    Thanks in advance for all your help.

    As Justin and others have said that I wrote [XUTL_FTP | http://www.chrispoole.co.uk/apps/xutlftp.htm] If you won't find in the Oracle documentation. It is pure PL/SQL using UTL_TCP and implements a built-in FTP from PL/SQL client / API. One of its many procedures overloaded FTP the contents of a refcursor directly to an FTP server of your choice, which means that no intermediate file is necessary. Since it is pure PL/SQL, it is trivial to program using DBMS_JOB/DBMS_SCHEDULER.

    Any questions just ask.

  • E4200 V2 - cannot access the FTP server build - in Internet

    Hello.

    I just bought a new E4200V2.

    I have a static IP and I would like to make the built-in FTP server accessible from the Internet.

    The server is accessible behind the router, but not from outside. I guess it's the firewall blocks the traffic, but I have not found any detailed firewall configurations.

    Thank you.

    Solved! It wasn't a real problem. The FTP server is accessible by its static IP, but only from the outside of the network. It could be consulted on the inside by its local IP address. Quite strange...
