Core Dumps

Hi friends,

How solve or deal with or solve some core dumps unexpected that happens to your systems?

Thank you very much

MsK

Hi MSK;

It is a glance upward to find fundamental to ORA-600 or ORA-7445 errors, if you hit core dumps unannounced, you first check this doc. After doing research if you find no solution as suggested received in research, you have to climb a SR

The research note mentioned below:

Troubleshoot an error ORA-600 or ORA-7445, using the [153788.1 ID] error search tool

  • Is there a way to get a core dump of an app that crashed in release mode

Is there a way to get a core dump (to get the stacktrace) an application (Blackberry OS 10) which was crushed in release mode?

I tried libbacktrace to get the stack trace in a signal handler (from the thread Id of the thread that caused the accident), but it seems that the battery is gone in the signal handler (backtrace simply returns the address of the most recent function call which is bt_get_backtrace() actually)

You can do if you are able to make an update to your application and install it. That "should" not (I have not tested) affects mehdi files which are located in the logs / folder of the sandbox. You may have this "update" be nothing more than a program to copy these mehdi files somewhere safe (effectively "cp newspapers/*.core shared/misc").

You can add this feature in the application itself (for testing) as a function of diagnostic if you needed this more than once.

It is possible that the installation of an update will erase the previous core files (up to 3-4 are kept in general) but I suspect that it is not. Very easy to check, since you can try that with an application simple devmode first and make sure that it will work until you do it in the published application.

ORA-600/7445 errors are associated with any trace files that gives many details on these errors. Before triggering the SR keep those handy also.

  • How to analyse the core dump generated by the user application

My user application developed for ESXi 5.5 occasionally generates signal SIGSEGV, causing in turn core dump generated.

I used this command to enable the generation of core dump in the directory/var/core.

    / sbin/vsish EI configuration/userworld/global/coreDumpEnabled 1

After dump generated, I tried using esxcfg-dumppart to extract the logs of information, according to this link http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1006796

But it seems that this tool is intended only to analyze the kernel image.

    / var/core # esxcfg - dumppart - L appdump - zdump.000

Error running command. Failed to retrieve the log. Cannot find a valid dump VMKernel file. Partition of discharge can be uninitialized.

Is it possible to analyse the core dump generated by application "userland" in ESXi 5.

    Thank you

    Arun

    Hi arunkrish,

OK, this tool (esxcfg-dumppart) is exclusively for the extraction of a file readable to vmkerneltext - zdumps.  The recommended method for the guest operating system dumps review is vmss2core which gives you the news crashdump desired in a format readable by the debugger for the OS in question asked.  As I understand it, the * zdump.000, * zdump.001, etc., are questions of trapping in the VM (i.e. rather than the GS) level.

I think that only VMware support can read these basic gos/vmx dumps that you are trying to review (I hope I'm wrong).  However, you can try your luck opening them in a debugger pro such as IDA Pro (speculation).  They have a free trial version.

  • VMWare Esxi 5.5 Core dump to disk

    Good afternoon!

I am facing a problem in VMware esxi free 5.5.

The server is crashing and showed a purple screen with the message "core dump to disk. Site 1 of 1... ».

I searched on the problem but have not found a solution.

We are the migration from VMware to XenServer.

In my environment, I have a San with Equallogic PS4100.

Can someone tell me what could happen?

    Image attached.

    Thank you.

It seems that you are affected by this problem:

    http://KB.VMware.com/kb/2059053

    https://communities.VMware.com/message/2301745

Unfortunately there is no patch for ESXi 5.5 still. The solution is to replace the vNIC e1000 in virtual machines with one another as the vmxnet3 vNIC.

  • Segmentation fault (core dumped)

    Hi all

    11.2.0.1

    AIX 6.1

We have DEV & UAT servers with oracle 11.2.0.1 db. and with the same operating system.

Then we have a pro * c program exe which run on DEV without error, but when it is run on UAT he throws Segmentation fault (core dumped)

But the database have the same content of tables and data.

    No idea why this error?

    Thank you

    Petra k.

    Hi all

I let the program do some trace and exposure where the error occurs and it seems that the program can't handle certain conditions. So, it's a bug in the program.

    Thank you

  • can save us core dump of ESXi in remote server?

    Hello

In ESXi 4.1 you cannot save core dump to the remote server but with vSphere VMware 5 provide you it the feature to save the dump to the remote server.

check the below article from core dump configuration in vSphere 5

All the clues as to what could be the cause? The xsd matter two another xsd, these two were properly recorded in the database.

    Concerning

    Paul

BTW, all namespaces referenced via include, import, etc., should be entered in the XDB repository before you can save the XML schema that has these dependencies.

    Online documentation of the Oracle;

    + Note: +.
+ Oracle does not recommend the use of the SORT_AREA_RETAINED_SIZE parameter, unless the instance is configured with the option of shared server. Oracle recommends enable auto sizing of SQL working areas by setting PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET instead. SORT_AREA_RETAINED_SIZE is retained for backward compatibility. +

You are running on a shared server? If this isn't the case, please use the PGA_AGGREGATE_TARGET.
