Core of CIN / P4 incompatibility?

I have a problem with a simple environment in LV 8.6 CIN. The FILM was written and compiled with Visual C++ 2008 Express on a Core Duo PC with Win XP SP2. It only performs numeric calculations that refer to the functions and the only other "includes" are windows.h, cvilvsb.h, and extcode.h for type definitions ("int16" + some that are some DLL & CIN related).

The .lsb file loads correctly in LV and CINEMA works fine on many "recent" PC (even Quad Core 2 with Vista 64). However, on some other PC the VI is broken, with the message that the CIN has no associated code. After some tests, it seems that this happens on 2 PCs with processors P4 (with XP SP3). I always thought that all of these architecture were x 86 compatible so no compatibility issues arise. Is this wrong? I mean, it's predictable to present incompatibilities between these two platforms (Core Duo and P4) CIN?

If that were the case, what should be done? Recompile the Visual together on a P4 machine project? Or don't treat the compiled DLL to a file .lsb with the post-build tool lvsbutil.exe on a machine P4? Does this make any sense?

Even if it's probably little useful, I join the LV 8.6 VI with embedded CIN.

Any help would be appreciated...

Vincent

Another possibility that I remember just now would be that your cin code made use of some libraries external (Visual C runtime would come to my eyes since you say that you use only math.h) that is not installed on the machines. Windows XP is far earlier than Visual Studio 2008, so it does not come with the Visual C 2008 runtime libraries out of the box.

When you choose to link your CIN Visual C DLL project and select this option to use the dynamic runtime library Visual C will connect only to a stub library that loads the real execution of Visual C DLL C runtime. However, each version of Visual Studio comes with a newer version of the library.

That's why when you create a project with a version of Visual Studio, and you want to ensure your project can be run on all but the most recent version of Windows duper hyper, you should also distribute the C runtime library that comes in the redistributable of libraries for that version.

Or like I do, use an earlier version of Visual Studio. I compile most of my projects (no doctors for several years now however) with Visual Studio 6, which the runtime libraries were even on old machines of Windows 98.

  • What happens if there is multi-core or Dual-Core coupling processors to the top with Windows 7 Home Premium?

So if I have a Windows7 Home Premium 64 - bit operating system and I use a processor dual core (Intel Dual Core e5300 CPU) are fully compatible or how they work together, given the fact that Windows 7 recognizes that one of the two processors? Playback of the system is expressed in the fact that it has two current processors. Both processors work simultaneously to form a combined data stream is a dormant or they turn on and off opposing to another so that each works half the time? Many scenarios as possible, but I would like to know... the real answer as to what needs to be changed eventually to bring together a system more fluid? My main question is the operating system and the processor may be an incompatibility problem that has not yet been addressed? I can't find any answer in the Center Compatabiity of Windows 7 or anywhere else. Or is the limitation of windows 7 Home Premium and only be able to support an unfounded processor see the fact that there are many systems that are in work today with these components. ?

    Hey Randy,

If your system has two separate physical processors (not hearts) and you are running Windows 7 Home Premium, the second processor is completely ignored. It turns on and turn his fans, but it does not all rights for the computer. Windows 7 Home Premium will not take advantage of a single processor.

However, if you have a single physical processor with multiple cores, Windows 7 64-bit will benefit from up to 256 cores. It is very probably the type of machine that you have because it is quite rare to have multiple processors co-location in a workstation computer.

In this scenario, Windows will use two cores for separate tasks. Applications will be evenly distributed between the carrots, unless the application has been written to take advantage of multiple cores. The two hearts are turned on and both are used when the system is running.

You can check if Windows has recognized the two hearts looking Manager of the tasks of your system:

    1. Open the Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar, and then click Start Task Manager.
    2. Click the performance tab.

The top two graphs show how much CPU is used, as well at the moment and for a few minutes. If the CPU usage history graph seems shared, your computer has multiple processors, a single dual-core CPU or both.

Windows 7 system requirements also go in a little more detail on how many windows cores/processors can take in charge:

If you do not meet the above, but respect what follows, then you can upgrade to El Capitan.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

    Upgrade to Lion

If your computer does not meet requirements to install the above, it can still meet the specifications to install Lion.

You can buy Lion to the Apple store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus taxes.  It's a download. You will receive an email with a redemption code that you then use on the Mac App Store for download Lion. Save a copy of this installer to your download folder because Setup deletes itself at the end of the installation.

  • Your comments on 10-core CPU

    All,

I am currently using the Mac Pro 3.7 Ghz 4 strands and I'm pretty happy with the performance

The main tasks are to 50% of video editing with Final cut pro (soon in 4K), imaging and work with VM parallels but also 50% Office and iTunes. Right now, I would have the chance to get a Core 10 E5-2690 3 GHz which would certainly enhance the video editing for very cheap.

The question now is on Single-Core performance? On the internet there are a lot of landmarks, but I can't really judge how they could perform my daily work ESP the 50% share of office and itunes. The performance is still on a good level or it becomes slow? Anyone of you 10 drivers or even the 12-core in its use to provide feedback on the performance of Single-Core? It would be great... THX in advance,-)

You have installed one of the worst, in the opinion of most of us users here, malware applications available, MacKeeper.  It proved too toxic for Macs.

Read this tip to the user: do not install MacKeeper.  It also has links to uninstall programs.  You can also do a Google search for "uninstall MacKeeper" for links to the site MacKeeper to uninstall programs. Once you have removed the offending files re-run Etrecheck to confirm that you have them deleted successfully.

You can also check if you have deleted all the files by downloading and running find any file to find all files with the application name and the name of the developer in the name of the file.  For example, for CleanMyMac, you would do two searches:

    1 - name contains mackeeper

    2 - name contains zerobit

All files that are found can be dragged into the window of search results on the Office for suppression.

FAF can find areas that Spotlight can not as invisible folders, system folders and packages.

Where did you get the memory modules that are in your Mac?  They are Apple?  If not, where do you have them?

  • Install Snow Leopard on iMac 2.8 GHz Quad Core i5

I just bought a refurbished 21.5 in iMac 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i5 on the Apple Store to replace an aging 21.5 in iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3. The new iMac has 10 El Capitan 10.11.6 OS and the old iMac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

I have old versions of Quark Xpress, Photoshop, Illustrator and Filemaker Pro on the old iMac running SL and I want to continue to use these. I am now retired and can no longer pay to upgrade.

I partitioned the HD on the new iMac and had hope install SL and migrate all my old files from the old computer. I tried to recover from a Time Machine backup since the iMac old and installation of the system from a bootable USB stick SL. None of them has allowed me to move forward.

Has anyone else tried this and succeeded? Will I have to completely erase the HD in the new computer, partition the drive, install SL on a partition and, on the other?

I've seen similar issues but no response to my problem. Real help would be appreciated.

Your mac is not designed to work in 10.6 and the operating system will prevent installation of 10.6 using the API. While this is possible through virtualization, but you will be using a 3rd party solution to do something your mac was not intended to do and any instability could be traced back to this.

Use the version of Mac OS X included with your Mac, or a more recent compatible version - Apple Support

  • Add memory to my 2011 iMac 21.5 "Quad Core i5 2.7GHz

    Hello

Can I add 8 GB memory cards in the 4 slots in my iMac 21.5 "Quad Core i5 2.7GHz? At the moment I have 2 x 2 and 2 x 4 GB cards and my mac is evil and taking a age to perform simple tasks. I thought he could have my HD was complete but there is two-thirds still available so it must be a problem with memory - unless someone has other suggestions of what it could be? I was planning on replacing the four locations maps 8 GB but want to verify they are compatible before shelling out.

    Thank you

If it is a Mid-2011 model:

Maximum memory (Real) 32 GB 16 GB (Apple)
    Memory locations 4-204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

If it is a late-2011 model:

Maximum memory (Real) 16 GB 8 GB (Apple)
    Memory locations 4-204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Actual spending refers to the maximum tested by OWC.

  • It will work with an amd processor dual-core E1-2500 (1.4 GHz)

Will Firefox run on dual-core AMD E1-2500 (1.4 GHz) CPU

I do not know. According to a page that I saw, it supports SSE2, which is listed in the minimum requirements: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/40.0/system-requirements/

Are you interested in giving it a try to see if it works?

Hello, you probably have dust in your fans. If your iMac cool can´t, himself and the temperature is rising. Or I guess that your dough processor colling has not changed. First chcek with activity monitor, if isn´t there is an app that have heavy load on your processor and if so, remove it. If not, there will probably be problem of dust and fans or with colling stick on your processor.
