Corel Paint Shop Pro installation program on Windows 8

I have problems all of a sudden getting Corel PaintShop Pro X 6 to run.

Until recently the X 2 and the X 6 was perfectly with Windows 8, Internet Explorer 9 and 10

Someone at - it any idea why it happened all of a sudden?

I would be very grateful for an answer.

I have the disc and even a removal and resettlement has not worked, nor has a repair.

Now, it appears not even in programs is still displayed in the list of computers.

Thus, any attempt to delete is impossible through the Elimination of programs.

Problem has been solved, it seems that there is a problem of HDD in Windows 8

so he'll be back for repair used, I hope that most of my work can be saved by the/company/factory store etc. involved with the sale of Windows 8 for me.

For the moment, I use my faithful old XP.

Many thanks to Carmudgeon for the answer for me.

    Hello

If the software saves files in a proprietary format, it should include a preview handler that displays thumbnails for this file format.

I would recommend that you contact Corel technical support or ask on the support of Corel forums for more information.

  • Cannot install Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo ultimate

I recently bought Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo ultimate and have not yet been able to install it on my vista machine.  I contacted Corel and the support rep has worked on my machine remotely for more than two hours without success to get the program to run.  After the new program was installed and launched a windows warning message appears indicating that windows had closed the program.  I get an error message when you install the software that reads the following:

Error 1402 - could open key Unknown\Components\a42bc89bfz5f5bdoaf18c3b991a1ee8\1bf27e46343277944b8a62c25dd3bo3d not check have sufficient access to that key or contact your support team.
Technology Corel updated my software to the motherboard as well as my software of Nvidia graphics cards.  He ran the Configuration of Windows Installer utility and malware remover.  The program has always failed to launch.  During an attempt to later install the above opinion included a line of unknown module whereby the tech told me that there seems to be a corrupt file or error in the Windows program and that the program Corel cannot be installed until the error is fixed.  It offered no suggestions on how to correct or even to identify the error.
I don't know what is the error when it is or how to fix so that my software can be installed on my computer before you reinstall the operating system.  Unfortunately, I don't have a copy disc of the operating system that is pre-installed on my computer.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Problem with the installation of Paint shop Pro photo X 2 on Vista

Try to install photo Paint shop x 2 on my notebook, but at the end of installation it freezes and there seems to be a problem with "registration"...
Corel (provider of the paint shop) now advised me to change some drivers but the links I received are for XP or lower versions.

Is there anyone who has had the same problem and find the solution?

I tried already several things (such as the closure of norton, msconfig changes etc)...

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello

I noticed that not all programs and applications are compatible and support the Vista operating system. Have you checked if this program supports Vista?
I think that it should be clarified everything first.

If you install, what exactly happens when you try to open it?

  • Corel PaintShop Pro installs directx config then X 3 installation stops

After taking 4 hours for the wizard to install the files, the installation program starts and runs until what directx config displays when the installation ends.

SOLVED! I went through this same problem. The problem is that Corel Paint Shop Pro installation tries to run the version of DirectX 2007 right off the bat during the installation process and it will fail to install because it is in conflict with the new version of DirectX that comes with Windows 7. Corel's marketing hype said their programs are compatible Windows 7. How DirectX is now integrated into the operating system, why in the world would they attempt to install an older version of DirectX? Compatible with Windows 7? I don't think so!

    HOW TO FIX:
    (1) run the installer as usual.

    (2) for the configuration of the installation, the installer will extract a ton of files in a temporary folder named c:\users\yourname\appdata\local\Corel Paint Shop Photo Pro\1.1.5.001. It comes to the actual installation of Paint Shop Pro extracted. I don't know the exact name of the folder, but just look in your account in c:\users\yourname\appdata\local folder, and you'll see a newly created Corel folder. CAVEAT! If you quit the Setup program, it will automatically delete this entire folder structure, so don't hit the button 'FINISH' until you complete the following steps!

    (3) when the Corel dialog ask accept you the contract of license, open Windows Explorer and copy the installation Corel since \users\yourname\appdata\local to somewhere else, directory structure such as your desktop. This will ensure that the files are not deleted, and you can go run setup.exe as many times as you want.

    (4) now you can fill or kill the original installation of Corel Paint Shop program still running on your PC. After she fails and you press the button COMPLETE, it will automatically delete the folders that it created under c:\users\yourname\appdata\local.

    (5) access to your new COPY of the installation Corel folder, drill down to the 1.1.5.001 which is a subfolder and edit the file setup.xml with a text editor. About six lines down from the top, you will see the XML key for the installation of DirectX code (contained in square brackets). REMOVE the line that refers to DirectX, then save the file. You can save the XML with a new name, rename the file setup.xml original setup - orig.xml, then rename the new version in the setup.xml file.

    (6) run the program setup.exe and watch with glee the installation process is done correctly!
