Correct product key is rejected

Install Windows 7 from my son went through repetitive restarts after the repair stuff did not work, I decided to reinstall W7 on the same computer.    The box was upgraded to Vista with 3 computer pack MS sold several years ago.

So.  Relocation seems to be fine and he then asked for the product key.   I have three times tried the key out of the map and had other people check that I typed the key correctly.   However, the installation is complaining that the product key is not valid.    This is, ah, junk.
For installation I have not so far formatted partition trying to maybe save data, but the essential question becomes a fairly large gluteal pain.
So, what gives?   Most of the product all over was nothing else than the aggravation and now if I can't even reinstall, it becomes useless.

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

Enter the product key

Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Give me my correct product key for my windows vista 64 bit, I use on my toshiba Office Qosmio X 305 - Q705 operating system

I need my correct Windows vista Home premium 64-bit product... which will correct the error, such as fact but with error and 404 error, this page is not availible.

It's not Microsoft, and we have no product key to give you.

If your 64 bit Vista pre-installed look for a sticker on the underside of the case, which will contain 25 characters of the product key.

Or look in the battery compartment.

If before is not your problem, I suggest that you explain your problem in detail and include error codes.

    See you soon.

The version of Windows Vista that is available for download seems to be pirated.  In all cases, you can not activate it with your computer OEM product key.  As this web page says you need to purchase a license and get a genuine product key.

Contact Acer and ask a legal installation for your computer model DVD.

  • Reset windows 8 and but did not get the correct product key.

    Hi all.

I bought a used HP Pavilion desktop computer and decided that it would be better to reset factory settings before you start using it. Unfortunately, I made and then found I don't have the product key of Windows 8 for it, and no more than the seller. The reset process is to half-way through, but I'm not sure how to do this when I get to the part where it asks for the key. Nightmare!

    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon

    Andy

You should not be asked for a product key because you used the factory reset to reinstall Windows 8.

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

    4. choose the option "activate phone".

Can't clean install or recovery without entering key - where I have to enter? Pls help!

    THX in advance!

Windows 7 came preinstalled on your computer or you buy separately and install it yourself?

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Samsung: Press the F4 key to the Samsung logo when you turn first.

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

    -------------------------------

If you bought it separately, did you upgrade from a previous version of Windows?

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

How can I know who is my correct product key for the Windows OEM Toshiba 8.1 I use?

You bought a laptop with preinstalled Windows 8.1 system and this system has already been activated during the first connection to the internet.

Upgrade Windows 10 requires no serial keys where the beginning system has already been activated!

If you want to return to factory (back to the preinstalled Toshiba system) you must use the recovery media.

  • Satellite L350 - product key for Microsoft Office

I bought a L350 laptop and it has Windows Vista pre installed and also Microsoft Office home and Student 2007 pre-installed that when I try to use I be prompted to enter the product key.

I entered the number on the sticker under and it says it is incorrect and must verify and enter the correct product key, but I'm definitely entered right.

Could someone let me know how to solve this problem

    Hello!

I think you don't understand something wrong because the product key on the underside of the laptop belongs to your version of Vista and it s not for Microsoft Office.
Please read what is printed on this product key sticker.

In addition it s only a trial version pre-installed and if you want the full version you must pay for it.
Toshiba doesn't provide laptops with a full version of office.

    Good bye

  • My system came with Windows 8 pre insalled. Where is my product key of Windows 8?

You bought your laptop Windows 8 and have noticed that it is no longer a certificate of authenticiy, located on the laptop with the product key.  Some users prefer to have the product key for their recordings or other future use, they may have for her.

The product key is embedded in the BIOS on the motherboard and is encrypted so that users will not be able to read it.  However, Windows 8 should be enabled, which means that the product key is located in the Windows registry.

There are utilities that can retrieve the product key listed in this thread on the Microsoft forums.  The first two, Belarc and Magical Jelly Bean, work in Windows 8.  As far as I know, the product key that is returned is the correct product key.

Tools and developers are not affiliated with HP and are not supported by HP.

I hope this information is useful for those who want to know the product key.

  • Even if I get correct correct product ID, it says "product ID you entered is invalid" during installation of Windows XP

    Hello

I'm having trouble installing Windows XP on my laptop. This is not the first time I install windows, but this time I'm stuck in the middle.
My laptop was having Windows XP to start. After that, I installed windows 7 in that.
Now I decided to install windows XP in this (please don't ask why). To do this, I booted the laptop computer from the windows XP installation CD, then I deleted all existing partitions on the hard drive and created fresh new partitions.  The implementation of process went well until what I enter the product key.
Even if I enter the correct product ID, it shows "the product Id you entered is not valid.
I used Windows XP is OEM software and came up with the new PC and already also two or three times that I had installed the same window in the same machine. This one time i'm stuck.
Any kind of help is much appreciated...

Yes... I'm pretty sure that I got the correct product key.

By the way the problem is solved now... The problem was on the installation CD. After repeated attempts failed installations, I thought to give a try by changing the installation CD. During the installation of the different installation CD, it worked like a charm. The product ID that wasn't working...
in any case thanks a lot 'J W Stuart"for your answer.

  • Model ENVY 17-j020US: my product key was cast

I had to do a refresh of Windows and now my product key is not valid. I contacted Microsoft and they said it was leaked and I need to contact HP. Before I called them, I contacted HP and they said I had to contact Microsoft.

I get the runaround. I bought this laptop to a retail store and has not received a disc. I found others with the same problem and it says that HP is using the same product key for multiple computers.

This is no fault of mine and my warranty is up.

I need HP give me a correct product key so that I'll be able to get the free Windows 10 update.

I paid a lot of money for this laptop including the product key and it turns out that's not just mine. Who should I contact to get this support?

If you have connected a case with HP, you should have received a 10-digit case number.

Please give me the file number a private message so that I can check the case and seated you better.

  • How can I find the product key for a specific OEM drive?

    Product key for reinstallation question

I want to reinstall Windows XP on my Dell computer.  I have the oem disc, but it is mixed with the other two provided with two other computers Dell oem disks that were purchased at the same time.  The sticker on my computer displays a product key.  When I do a search for product key on the computer using a program key finder, sometimes with a different product key.  Which should I use and is at - there a way to find the product key on the disc?  Thanks for any help.

PS. the unattend.txt to disk file is NOT the correct product key.

If the drive of a Dell computer with the same edition of the OS, then you can use the disc - I think that each of them will have the same key as the one that is currently installed (and that on your sticker)

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

    (A) OEM SLP: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with Bios OEM flag only on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows key leans on the motherboard and he sees the flag proper Bios OEM (for the manufacturer and the version of Windows) and activates.

    (B) SLP COA: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side, bottom or (for some laptops) in the compartment of the battery from your computer. It's a valid product key, but it should be used only in certain situations (for example, when the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone.
