• Could not load media

  I try to install The Orange Box from Valve Software DVD, yesterday it worked fine (just had problems with the steam registration process, so he abandoned until at the latest).

  Now, when I try to load the DVD disk spins and keep trying but nothing ever happens, then my PC crashes and on the first attempt to restart says "Operating system not found", if I turn off / my PC boots fine.
  My drive is a TSSTCorps CDDVDW TS-L633A, in a laptop Samsung R510, under Vista SP2.
  While typing this I tried a CDRom and it's now also failing to load (was fine earlier today). I tried to update the drivers for the drive, but they are already up to date, remove and reinstall the device also makes no difference.
  I tried to use the Microsoft FixIt tool, but of course, this requires that you are at least able to load some media.
  I'll risk to guess that this will prove to be hardware related, but any advice would be appreciated.
  PS. If I insert a blank DVD + RW media it loads OK, using Nero to burn an ISO image to disk through apparently OK, but then Vista still considers it a blank disc when you load.

  Hello trotskyicepick,

  I have to agree with you so it's material since you mention that we are unable to boot from a CD of the OS.

  The reason why we are able to burn media, is that the engraving uses a different head than what we use when we read a disc.

  I'm unable to load the latest version of Flash Player.  I have upload successfully but then get a dialog for Adobe Flash Player install which is black and there is no activity. Suggestions please?

• Netflix in Media Player error: "we could not load the video player.

  I recently installed the add-on Netflix to my Windows Media Player.  It was working fine (though I don't find Windows Media Player to be a great product) but now when I try to play something Netflix I get two error reading - each other.

  • The first read error is: "we could not load the video player.
  • The other on another pop up window begins with: an error has occurred in the script on this page. "There are so many lines with details and a URL, then he asks:" do you want to continue running scripts on this page? "With radio buttons or not.

  I tried to uninstall the add-on from Netflix and reinstall - but that does not change.

  The solution: check if your antivirus activate macros run. For me, I completely disabled my antivirus and Robohelp works better.

  I couldn't see the wording of the filename exactly as you pointed out, but I ended up doing a file search "*.ini" on my hard drive, which resulted in 359 files found. then I scanned down the column name and entered a "configuration settings" file simply named "profiles" in the folder: C:\Documents and Data Data\Mozilla\Firefox

  I deleted it and opened my Firefox browser! I lost all my favorites, history, etc., but this isn't the end of the world.

  Make sure you have backups of all important data for you (Favorites/internet Favorites, music, photos, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, drawings, numbers of series and product keys and installation to start with media) as soon as POSSIBLE.

  Format and start from scratch OR use the 'Restore Factory default' the manufacturer can give you.  Your stuff of restoring a backup after installation of your spplications on the machine.

  I have no problem with printing from the desktop wired or wireless laptop. But every time I print something this error appears in the Print Service event log.

  I found that the event ID 315 with error 2114 is a synchronization problem.  When I turn on the printer to the computer before, I get this error in the event log.  If I start first to the computer, and then turn on the printer, the error disappears.

  Opera to load the Adobe Flash Player very well at home, but I get "Could not load plugin" on my desk without wire.
