You can install up to an i7 3770 here. You could possibly install a 3770 K but won't be able to overclock the processor BIOS or memory is a waste of money.

I7 3770 processors are selling for around $200 on eBay.

That said, I'm not sure that the 3770 will be much faster than the 2600.

Yes, the upgrade of processor is really feasible in your laptop - which is not the case, usually, but if this cost is ridiculously high, I'd go for newer towers equipped processors Haswell or Ivybridge 3rd or 4th gen.

  • I need to sell an old brand cpu/mobo with XP home can it be re-written by someone else? If this rite throw on that one please?

Hello to all who read this and you can contibute. My dilemma is, Windows XP Home Ed can be used by someone other than me when its locked to a certain CPU/motherboard? And it can be recorded/re-recorded to someone else than me? If I sold it, and they used the same CPU/MoBo but different hard drive? I have all the recovery discs w/windows and all apps on them. Processor is an Intel P4 2.53, MoBo has these # s above, P4-S533-VX, and it is a Sony Vaio desk end 2002 (yes I know it's old). Just some FYI. I really need to make a little money now that Christmas is around the corner & sell this thing as soon as POSSIBLE! Anyway any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Registration is optional and has no real meaning.
If you sell your PC and all the recovery disks, while the buyer is the owner of the license
Change / pose a new hard drive has no impact on license

  • Upgrading from Windows Vista Home Premium at 8 - CPU does not support NX

    Hello

I have Vista Home Premium (very probably OEM as it came with the PC) on a PC and I bought the upgrade license to Windows 8 Pro.
I understand that it is in terms of the license transition, but here is my problem:
The CPU does not support NX (and for sure there is no setting in the BIOS for this).
    So I can't move to 8.
To replace the CPU, I need to replace the motherboard.
If I replace the motherboard my understanding is I'm losing the license because it OEM.
So, in reality, I can't switch to Win 8.
The license, I bought said that I can pass any system running XP, Vista, Win 7 to 8 Win.
It does not distinguish between older versions of Windows OEM and retail versions.
For me, it's a huge conflict.
    So the question is:
Can I change the CPU + motherboard to earn 8? or not?
    Thank you
It has been some time but I finally had the time to do the upgrade (hardware + software).
For history and for others who could come on this post with a similar question and be discouraged by responses like this:
I contacted the technical support of MS and they confirmed that I had a Windows 8 Pro upgrade license and after upgrading my license would Win 8 Pro full-detail (what you want to call it). Essentially, after upgrade, I can reinstall any other motherboard. Of course you can only use a license on a machine at one time.
(Of course your upgrade license type may be different to mine, so you should check they type of license)
In any case, what is more interesting, it of that I got the confirmation that I can do a clean install and activate my upgrade license. Not only that, but they recommended the installation of Vista should not be present when installing on 8 to win. I was very skeptical and I asked for an account of the cat to be on the right side. They assured me that the support had made several times and is not a problem.
And so, I do a clean install on the new motherboard (and a new player) and activated windows 8 with no problems at all.
It seems very stupid that you can change the motherboard after the upgrade, but could not make the move and the Windows update at the same time. Fortunately, it is not the case.
To me, it seems that the MS are aware that in you to go from XP (soon), they should also use the materials for the upgrade.
  • Install vista on a new motherboard

Hello, I'm going to install a new cpu/motherboard in a few days, but I bought vista service sp1 microsoft digital locker that is now gone, but I never had the chance to make a dvd of it. Is - this from there anyway I did not reinstall windows when I put in the new motherboard? If I have to reinstall I can get a replacement cd or make my own? I have my product id, one who is under the properties of my computer, but it doesn't have the key number 25 just an id number 20. Please help me.

If you borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • CPU is dead now, I need to install Photoshop and lightroom on a laptop?

I have photoshop and lightroom install on a laptop and a desktop through the creative cloud. Last week my laptop had a failure or a failure of the CPU motherboard. Anyway its dead. I can get my pictures on the hard drive, but now I want to move the photoshop and lightroom for my laptop to marry while I decide what to do on a new machine. After I bought a new machine then I will suggest two programs to it. My question is how can I move my subscription for a new machine because the old is dead?

According to my understanding, you only need to install the cloud on the new machine and sign in using your account id/code.  This should close autonatically of other activations you have.  You can then connect to the desktop again.

Your only hope is probably by contacting the Support from Adobe directly through chat or by phone to see if they can help you, but don't be surprised if they refuse to give you a serial number... There is only so much that can be done to prove your legitimacy as the owner.
