CPU usage high on Cisco EMS-2000

Dear Experts,

We use two Cisco EMS-2000 in our network. but we face very high utilization up to 95 to 98% CPU.

We cannot see in details why it happened as in cisco RTR or catalyst "sh proc cpu" there see in detail by which service he goes high then we can very easy identity but in L3 Cisco EMS-2000 showing only the percentage not in the details. " so, how can I know.

We get the EMS-2000 this type of errors "2147480831 2012-Jul-06 13:14:45 % WARNING IPFFT-W-SFFTREDYELLOW: IP SFFT.

How can solve this and why it happened.

Please someone help me for the same thing, I appreciate it for that.

Thanks in ADV,

Hi DC, SFFT errors usually indicate too many IP traffic.

  • Excessively the CPU usage high on my Equium M70

    Hello

Recently in the last month my summer CPU usage hit 100% when I m not running any software tax (only internet explore and windows media player).

It is slowing down the load time and the area near the fan is hot enough.

I have a Satellite M70-337, with a 1.7 centrino processor and now 2 GB of RAM (formerly 512 megabytes). I upgraded the ram in December and had no problems like that, now it just started happening recently, I have installed everything that would, there is no unnecessary programs running and it was after I restored my computer to factory with the startup disk settings (a month later), he seems to have come from nowhere. On the list of the Task Manager it shows my web browser and Media Player by using most of the CPU, but I could have sworn that they use so far before.

I don't know if the RAM would have been a factor, but it was the correct RAM for it and windows recognized to 2 GB.

Why would it suddenly happened any ideas guys?

    Hello

I have the same model of laptop and at the moment I have no such problems. To be honest, I did new installation OS 3 months ago and after installing Microsoft Update, I noticed this laptop does not work as before. Just for example: if I use IE7 extensively with several different tabs in the Task Manager I can see this need for IE more than 300,000 k of memory and crashes somehow. After the closure of the IE and ending THE process sin Task Manager I can work normally again.

I don't really know how your operating system is configured, but in the Task Manager, you should see what running process is responsible for the high CPU usage. Maybe some antivir application? Sorry, but it is really not easy to sayt why this happens. Play around with the current process.

  • Satellite A300-1IE - CPU usage high with Bluetooth active

    Hello!

I recently installed Windows 7 and the Toshiba Software Installer on my Satellite A300-1IE.

I have a problem with the bluetoothmanager, it's more than double the CPU usage when turned on. When I close the CPU usage goes down.
    This is not normal?

When the BT active CPU usage is 9 to 15% and when not 1-3%

Seems to be high. Try an update of the Bluetooth stack.

Ensure that you answer the question during the uninstallation, if all configurations should be removed, with Yes.

  • Satellite R830-1GZ - CPU usage high (> 25%) and increase in the speed of the fan after reactivation

    Hi all

The CPU usage of my laptop shoots upward to 25% (and beyond) and increases in fan speed considerably after waking up, but only when I use an external mouse (Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000) - disconnect the mouse once it happened does not solve the problem, so I always have to restart my computer if I let go sleep with the connected mouse.

I noticed that when this produces the system interrupts - delayed appeals procedure and Interrupt Service routine appears in the resource monitor > CPU > process and seems to explain the increase in the use of the processor.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be most appreciated.

I use a Toshiba Satellite R830 1GZ with Windows 7 (64-bit). This problem will not occur when I use the same mouse with another laptop (Dell with Windows XP).

    Thank you very much.

I think that the process that controls the mouse MS WLan does not close properly.
The system to memorize it and therefore the cooling module begins to spin faster because these processes stressed the central unit.

Maybe its caused by the mouse driver
Have you checked if there is an update to the driver?

  • When Windows starts it is always a dialogue box that flashes on the screen and the CPU usage high (above 50%), after I connect sometimes for several minutes.

Original title: at the start of Windows there is always a dialogue box that flashes on the screen, but I've known idea what it is.

How can I determine which program is using this dialog box? I also don't expect high utilization of the processor (over 50%) after that I connect sometimes for several minutes. I see not all applications running in the Task Manager. The amount of CPU utilization in the services tab doesn't match what I see compared to what the gadget is read in my sidebar. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Soan,

    1. What is exactly mentioned in the dialog box?

    2. when the problem started?

    3. did you of recent changes on the system?

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

You can check if the problem occurs in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    Step 2:

If you are not faced with the question in safe mode, you can perform a clean boot and check.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

After the troubleshooting steps, please refer to clean the boot link to put the computer to normal startup mode.

    Method 2:

You can read the following article and perform a full scan of security on your computer.

    Microsoft safety scanner

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss. You can take a backup of important data before performing analysis.

    Method 3:

You can also read the following article and try to optimize the performance of Windows Vista.

  • The CPU usage high mad after DL anti virus

Hi, I hope someone can help me! I have an XP machine running Microsoft Security Essentials for a long time without any problem. Recently, my PC slowed to a crawl, so I ran the utility system to clean programs, disk clean up/Defrag, etc. I then noticed by Control Alt Delete I had a program that took a ton of memory. I googled the program and (sorry don't have the name because I am now in a different pc). But Google search resulted in the guilty being Security Essentials. I removed SE and downloaded Nod32 and had the same problem, although this time the culprit was nod32. I am under SP3 and am very * on updates, etc. I have that turns off the PC until I know what is the cause. It seems that no matter what AV program installed my machine is very slow. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you!

    • Amount of (RAM RAM)?
    • Manufacturer of the video card (* is shared with system memory)?
    • Size of the hard disk (free space total and current)
    • Windows XP is at least patched with Service Pack 3?

Download (FREE) MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware (FREE) on another computer and carry them / set them on the first computer and perform complete system analysis - remove anything they find.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

  • FIFO DMA read high CPU usage

    Hi al, it's a long!

I noticed a strange behaviour when I read from a FIFO DMA between FPGA and RT host on my crio (9014 controller and 9104 bottom of basket). The FPGA is writing data to the FIFO 2 points every millisecond and the loop of the RT is the reading of 500 data points each loop of the MS 250 CR period is controlled using the hold until the next ms multiple function.

Wait until the next use means ms that during the first round, the wait will be not so I gave the FIFO DMA read method a timeout of 750ms to allow data points to accumulate on this first iteration.

I then ran the VI and it read the data as planned and it was always 0 in the FIFO. Then using the system monitor, I noticed the CPU usage on the RIO and was surprised to see that it was 30% !

After a lot of puzzle and many other attempts as to set the timeout to zero if delays fair read until here, I've decided are enough data points and then executes a little behind so that there is always a constant number (non-zero) of data points in the FIFO. Now, the VI runs and only use about 3% CPU.

I thought that in the first case as I read exactly the number of points in the FIFO that I was tripping some kind of voting behavior in the playback feature which has been hogging the cpu.

So I ran a business with a zero time-out, where I was reading with 0 points of data to the left in the FIFO as in the first case and waited to see if the delay of read but it never does and the CPU usage is normal.

    So what's happening? I'm puzzled!

    Thank you

    Steve.

    Hi Steve,.

I think I can explain the use processor behavior that you are experiencing:

Case 1: Loop with nonzero time-out

-Your code starts with wait a multiple ms: This means that a 0-250 ms timeout occurs (on average 125 ms)

-Then your code tries to read 500 data points in the DMA FIFO (if 500 points come in every 250 ms). All data cannot be presented yet.

-If 500 points are not yet ready, polling occurs until they are. During the time of the poll, the CPU usage is high. Finally, the data is read.

-The next iteration of the loop begins.

-The code is now expected up to 250 ms after the last function call until the next ms Multiple. Roughly the same amount of data should be available by the end of this expectation as in the last iteration. Therefore, the question about the next FIFO DMA read should be roughly the same, and the CPU usage will remain high.

Case 2: Loop with zero time-out

-In your code, immediately after the first call to wait until the next multiple ms, you "synchronize" by reading all the remaining data from the FIFO.

-In the next iteration of the loop, we can expect the call until the next ms Multiple wait the entire 250 m means that the data DMA FIFO (discount jitter) should be ready. If jitter is low enough, this will result in delays very little of the read DMA FIFO and a low CPU usage.

I would recommend either using a timed loop and read the exact number of data points available (if your application can handle variable size data sets), or using a while loop as you are and make sure that the loop priorities are defined such that the CPU usage high does not affect critical functionality.

Thank you for the very good question; I personally really like thinking through these issues! Please let me know if you have any questions that deserve further discussion and have a nice day!

    Kind regards

    Hello Salman,

If DHCP requests are taken over by clients, you will probably want to focus on the limiting of requests DHCP using DHCP snooping.

    ENVY 15, 10 Windows version 1607

CPU cycles was about 50% this morning and discovered that the HP Support Solutions Framework service was 40 + % permanently.   No problems so far with high utility usage.  Problem started not with the update of the birthday that was filled with 4 days and there are several reboots.

At a chat session with HP support, but they couldn't help.

I stopped running - task seems to restart every time I run the HP support assistant and continues with + 40% of CPU usage.

Any suggestions please?   Y at - it an update utility that I have to download?

  • Qosmio F60 - alert constantly high CPU usage

    Hello

About 12 months ago, I bought a Toshiba Qosmio F60 computer laptop 6 GB.

When exploring using games, facebook etc, I am constantly alert of my Norton informing that there is high CPU usage.

I have asked around locally and advised to delete Norton because this may be the problem. I'm not eager to do what my subscription is still valid.

I also learned the other day that this is a common problem with laptops Toshiba using 'Explorer' and that I should use "Mozilla Firefox" instead which would correct the problem.

I am trying to arrange this.

Can you please indicate if it is a regular problem with Toshiba laptops and reviewing the options above to try to address this problem.

It doesn't really seem to my computer, it goes more slowly and when in the Manager tasks, it is constantly fluctuating between 5 and 35%

I look forward for your reply.

    Hello

This isn't a problem laptop buddy
Norton AntiVirus is a good antivirus program, but it uses a lot of resources and my experience locks the CPU.

I removed this antivirus software and now I m using the avast and Avira Antivir free Antivirus software. Both are freeware software.

But I still use Internet Explorer. Of course, I also installed the firefox and chrome. All these three browsers are great.

  • Satellite A45 - the CPU usage is high and slow applications

    Hi all

I'm trying to debug a hardware problem on my Toshiba Satellite A45. I am running Ubuntu 10.04, but I don't think that it's operating system or related software.

THE PROBLEM: The CPU usage is high and applications slowly to a crawl after using an intensive application of memory for a few minutes, i.e. to watch a video or a game. Basically, anything that could use the screen much. If instead, I work only from a prompt, even when the application could do a lot of work, I do not encounter this problem. After stopping all applications, the CPU usage is always higher than normal (90% idle, should normally be slowed down to about 99%).

    Xorg now typically showing about 6% (normally use< 2%).="" if="" i="" at="" any="" time="" after="" this="" try="" to="" work="" in="" any="" application,="" usage="" is="" still="" bogged="" down.="" only="" a="" reset="" gets="" me="" back="" to="">

Note: My system has always worked very well and I did not made the installation of the software or changes when it started to happen.
However, the laptop is a 800 miles round trip at the rear of the car in a padded bag.

DEBUG: This doesn't seem to be the RAM that I replaced the RAM and reinstall the RAM, and the problem persists. This doesn't seem to be the hard drive that I can try to run it from a Live CD (without use of HARD drive) and yet everything slows to a crawl.

HELP: I don't know how to debug from here.
I don't have extra pieces of hardware to make swaps.

Any ideas more how to debug this?

    Thank you
    Grommit

    Hello

    > I am running Ubuntu 10.04, but I don't think that it's operating system or related software.
It s interesting why you think that this may be software related issue

I think that it is a typical software problem because the RAM and the HARD drive has been verified you have reported this in the message

So what to say maybe some virus or malware likely to obstruct the CPU and the memory usage
Or there is some process in the background that are not properly

I recommend you to reinstall the Windows operating system or another distribution of Linux that runs NO Live CD, but which is installed on the HARD drive
I m sure that s kind of the process that is disabled and crashes somewhere in the background
