CQ50-210US

I wonder if someone can tell me if I can replace a motherboard 494182-001 with a 489810-001. I'm trying to put together a CQ50 with a bad motherboard (memory locations) and I have a good 489810-001 and would like to know if I could use it.

Thanks in advance for anyone to help

Installed the second Board. Worked for about a day. The same problem. I started testing in the provider and after several emails he admitted that he had some "issues" with these cards. So I guess what I'm saying, it's to look at where you get your parts and make sure you can return them.

Thanks again for your help. If I find a good advice somewhere, I'll post again.

  • CQ50-210US: drivers for Windows 10

Hello. I installed Windows 10 on an older machine, and it seems to work ok, with a little delay here and there. I have a question however, I have a CoProcesser who is not identified, need a driver. Any ideas?

    Mike

    OK, MIke:

It appears that none of the sites support HP are working right now, so I can't find the right driver.

So, what I did go to the nvidia website and I found what I want, it's the equivalent driver.

I pulled the EMS out of 228 MB driver file, zipped file it upwards and attached it below.

It seems to be a less hardware ID in this file as the HP we had, so I hope that the hardware ID for the coprocessor in your laptop is supported by this driver.

    We will know it soon.

Download and unzip the attached to his record.

The first manual installation method easier because the reason why it did not work he could not find a 64 bit driver to install.

Just browse the driver folder that you unzipped, make sure that the include subfolders is checked and the driver should install.

    Then restart.

If for any reason any, it does not, we will have to sleep top and hope that HP gets the support site to the top and work.

You can get to it, but when you click on any model of PC, nothing happens and the business support site is down for regular maintenance - a real double whammy!

  • Why my screen of laptop Compac Presario CQ50-210us suddenly begins to roll?

As I use the computer all of a sudden the screen begins to roll horizontally.  Picturesque, the control key does not help, but sometimes moving the lid back and forth results screen slow down and finally stop.  Turn on the computer, and then there is no solution.  Really upsetting that I waste time trying to get the regular screen. So far I have not had success in the search for a solution.

    Hello

Welcome to the community forums of Microsoft and thanks for posting questions.

Because when the movement of the cover's fixing, looks like a hardware problem. It might just be a loose cable or hardware fault.

I suggest you to contact the manufacturer for assistance.

  • How can I connect CQ50-210US with Atheros AR5007 wireless?

I used to be able to connect wireless but had problems connecting to a new router (Netgear DGN2200) so I tried to reinstall the driver for the Atheros. It was a bad idea because now I don't see networks wireless at all (I used to be able to view my router secure neighbors even if I couldn't see my Netgear, but now I don't see anything).

When I'm in the wireless and diagnose connection status window perform them, he said: "the NIC"Atheros AR5007 802. ' 11 b / g WiFi Adapter knows driver or hardware related issues. I tried to disable and re-enable the network card (disabled, power off and then restarted the computer and the adapter installed automatically). That did not help. Boot in safe mode with Networking does not work either.

I am running Vista Home Premium.

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

Disable the Windows Firewall and Firefox does not solve it. But your question about internet protection suites made me wonder if the AVG Antivirus (free version without a firewall) might have been interfering with the driver installation. I removed AVG and then reinstalled the driver Atheros. Bingo! It worked! The computer can see the wireless networks, it can see my new Netgear router now (what I initially tried hard). Thanks to make me suspect other programs interfere. It helped to have someone as a sounding board.

I reinstalled AVG and restarted the firewall and even wireless internet access so all is well now.

  • Press the orange antenna, and now I can't connect to my wireless router.

    Here's my question:

There is this button next to the power button on my laptop which has a glowing orange antenna icon on it. He was always orange (which I don't mind) and never responded to any pressure that I had done in the past... In other words, until today. I was talking to a friend of mine while we were playing an MMO, and I told her how I have this little button that does nothing. They said "Must be a deception." (which, in hindsight was kinda funny) and then * boop *, I can't connect to the internet without connecting an ethernet cable.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ50 - 210US Notebook PC and an Atheros AR5006X wireless network adapter in my laptop.

I tried everything: of a hard reset, to a system restore (which in fact didn't even touch the wireless issue or one of my favorites in Chrome), trying to disable/enable/upgrade to update / restore my wireless card. No rollback option was available. First thing I did was to try to hold the button in the same way that I had the first time (I thought that the problem with a power button had to press on it, silly me.)

    My Solution:

Sometimes, the solution is as simple as to be soft and pressing this button antenna for but half a second. And then, above all, be patient!

  • Compaq laptop screen suddenly begins to roll and will continue to do so even if I hold down the ctrl key.

My laptop is Compaq Presario CQ50 - 210us Notebook PC running Windows VISTA. All support comes from HP. He developed a mind of your own. The screen starts rolling when he wants to. I have no control over it. This happens with the games already installed HP, IE9 and office. Sometimes I can stop it by pressing the ctril, but once I stop it again.  If I turn off the laptop and wait to turn it back on it starts rolling and sometimes it for more than 10-15 minutes. All updates are in place. Any suggestions is it really a problem? Thank you.

    Hi JoAnn,

Did you recent hardware or changes to the software of the system?

    Method 1:

You can check the following items and check if the problem occurs in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    Method 2:

You can also update the chipset and graphics card drivers by visiting the HP Web site.

    HP support

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    Hope this information is useful.

  • CQ50-NR215: bad recovery

This Compaq CQ50-NR215 continued to get slower over time. It was purchased at BestBuy and came with (2) "GeekSquad" recovery CD - as opposed to a Microsoft OS disk? The backup of my data, I went with Disk1 - which he said successfully did something with the partition. Second step was installing original software. He won this stage and gave ERROR 1005. After removing the CD, the laptop did not start, indicating that a device in the boot sector was not present.

It so happened that I had a CD of Vista operating system from another computer so I inserted the CD and tried to restart. After asking to fix/install windows (I chose install), he seemed fine. The welcome message appears & says "Prepearing your DESKTOP computer for first use. It starts very well, the user interface appears intact. The problem-

The WLAN light on the laptop which is red when this is turned off/blue when on remains-red & will not turn on. In the Device Manager, I can't find any network card. A section called "Other devices" is highlighted in yellow indicating a question - when you select other devices, a submenu appears, and the following list is present (see photo)

    Coprocessor

    Ethernet controller

    SM Bus controller

    Unknown device.

Download section of the HP driver, I downloaded what I thought, it is maybe the chipset suitable for a flash drive, then moved to the computer laptop & installed. Still nothing.

It was suggested that I be able to plug an ethernet straight cable from my router to the laptop and access than average internet - failed, no access.

My first impressions are that the CD I have installed from was designed for an older desktop computer, not having no internal not the software to make use of the wifi.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I can't believe so much is wrong with her, that she needs a few hundred dollars in a computer repair shop - when the value of this cell of aging is certainly lower than that.

    You are the very welcome.

  • Compaq Presario CQ60-210US lab: the laptop Compaq Presario CQ60-210US does support Windows 7 64-bit OS

Hello.  I know for my brother, if his Compaq Presario CQ60-210US laptop that is running Vista 32-bit operating system, can be upgraded to a 64-bit version/edition of Windows 7, 8.1/8 or 10?   As stated, the laptop OS is Vista 32 bit, and I think that's Vista Home Premium, but I'm not sure.  It has 4 GB of RAM, which is the maximum for a 32 bit OS.   I realize that you can do an upgrade on the spot of a 32-bit operating system to a 64-bit OS and it will take a clean install, but nobody knows if material of this laptop, BIOS etc supports 64-bit operating systems?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It is my opinion, to you, you can run 64-bit or 32-bit. Sogtware much still run as 32-bit anyway.

    Kind regards.

  • CQ50-139wm upgrade

CQ50-139wm upgrade ram and windows 7 to 4gig is possible

It was a Wal-Mart Black Friday model since a few years back and has the Celeron 575 processor which is, believe it or not, capable of 64-bit. Memory max is listed as / 3 gb in the features of HP but crucial.com says it can take 4 GB and I don't see that would be incorrect:

    http://www.crucial.com/store/ListParts.aspx?model=Presario%20CQ50-139WM

So yes, I would like to install Windows 7 64 bit instead of Vista Home Basic and works for 4 gigs and it would be almost usable. The video is technically capable of Aero in Windows 7, but it will lag what it is demanding, even things like Netflix.

It came with a 160 GB 5400 RPM hard drive and it would be even better to slide say an 80 GB or 120 GB SSD in there and it would be quite a bit snappier. The problem is, I'm not sure the same profitability invest the sum of $75 or more for memory. That money would be better spent if you sold the CQ50 and invested a little more in a current entry with a dual core processor laptop level.

  • CQ50-130US: CQ50-130US SSD not recognized

My in-laws CQ50-130US has a scratch disk, but the machine is SO slow I want to update a 5400 RPM for one SSD and windows Vista 7 (or maybe 10). I installed a Sandisk Plus 120 GB SSD but can not get the system to recognize it. I can see it using a USB docking station I have on another machine, I even formatted it so the drive seems to be OK.

I updated the BIOS of F.25 to F.65. The BIOS will start to test the drive (because I don't know what all the test consists of I cancel immediately so I use unnecessarily) and if I remove the disc test fail... so the BIOS sees it, but when I get to the windows installation, Windows is unable to find a drive to install on.

I google a certain number of things, but what I found doing the litle is meaningless, as it said that it should be a 256 GB for the BIOS drive to see, but it doesn't seem to be the problem.

I had to use the drivers when I install disks to a RAID controller and which seems to be what windows 7 is looking for here, but too sholdnt happen.

I'd appreciate help if there is to be

    At any time.

I am pleased to have been of assistance.

On a newer platform, I think any SSD will work.

On the largest, it's a crap shoot.

As I wrote yesterday, I have a HP 6930p notebook with the same chipset that you work the CQ50, and I installed a 330 Intel 120 GB SSD in this one and it works great.

I noticed in the specifications of the HP 6930p, which was the first company PC HP 'officially' supported for one SSD.
