I have a windows 64-bit computer that is running Windows 7. In recent months, Firefox has been crashing on opening - opening occasionally on the profile of my husband, but not mine. I now use IE9 running as administrator but would prefer to use Firefox.
I can't adjust the settings, plugins etc that I can't open the program at all. After the first attempt, I go to the Task Manager and stop firefox.exe. Then when my next attempt to open I get the error again. I sent off the coast many reports of incidents at Mozilla.

    Hello
I found my profile.ini for Firefox file by using the information in your message *http://kb.mozillazine.org/profiles.ini_file. There were 2 profiles in the ini file, so I deleted one and kept the other one who had the same name as the folder profile and saved the ini file. Bingo-test - Firefox works! I think the graphics card driver update helped also that IE works properly now as well.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Vista can only boot mode safe after updating Panda Internet Security installed on the system

Original title: VISTA can only successfully starts in Mode safe. When you try the System Restore restarts in Normal Mode and restore failed "Volume Shadow Copy Service used by the system restore does not work"

Problem started (I think) after that PANDA INTERNET SECURITY did a update and says a restart is required (29/09/2010). System could not restart normally. Started, but virtually nothing loaded and couldn't do anything.

In Safe Mode, first mistake was a Protection Exception for TPSrv.exe (a PANDA executable)

Tried to do a Safe Mode system restore to point before PANDA update (28/09/2010). System Restore starts safe mode and then restart in Normal Mode.  After about an hour comes up with error message "Volume Shadow Copy Service used by the system restore does not work. (0 x 81000202) event log.

I also tried sfc.exe but found no compromise windows

    Hello

    Follow the steps mentioned below.

    Method 1:

Check if the Volume Shadow Copy service is started. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. click the Start button and in the search box, type in: Services.

    b. press "Enter" to open the Services window.

    c. find related services that are listed above and check the status (on the road) and the Startup Type (automatic).

    d. double-click the service to change the status of started and set the startup type to automatic.

Try to do a system restore and check.

    Method 2:

Since you are able to boot into safe mode, I suggest you perform a clean boot and disable all non-Microsoft applications, then boot normally and control.

To perform a clean boot follow the steps mentioned in the link given below.

Note: Follow step 7 to start the computer in normal startup.

    Method 3:

If you think it's a Panda Security software that causes this problem then, I suggest to uninstall Panda security of the system and check if you're able to boot normally.

  • How can I get Mode safe on my Satellite U300?

No one knows how to get into the mode safe on my u300. tried the usual F8 unsuccessfully

    Any ideas?
Getting "The user profile Service has no connection." and he would try the system restore to solve.
    Any help would be appreciatted.

    Hello

You can access the advanced boot menu using only the F8 key.
Have you tried to press several times in his line?
You must press it immediately after the laptop has been powered!

Sorry, but another way is unknown to me

You can try to start by using a Windows Vista disk... This could help to repair the operating system.
In the worst cases, it should reinstall the OS... :(

  • Vista won't open in Mode safe (after installing new software)

I loaded new software (Stop Motion Pro) and the next time I rebooted, Vista is entered directly in Mode safe without asking.  I guess it's Safe Mode, although I have read some talk online that maybe he just screwed up my display settings and/or theme.  I tried readjusting my display settings and can't figure out how.  I also tried to remove the new software, but I don't see the option Add / Remove programs in Control Panel.  (The problem is that I want this software, so if I remove it, so what?)

    Hello

Try a system restore before that has happened - you will need to re - install the software.

  • PC will not open in Mode safe

My moms ADVENT PC has stopped working and will not open in safe mode. If I try to open it in normal mode it gets stuck in a loop of trying to open and then automatically close down and then try to open it again.

I have checked for viruses, it has been reduced to a restore point, tried to uninstall the virus check tool and install a new one and then later retrieve the machine back to factory settings and wipe all data on this subject and nothing worked. Recovery and wipe the machine this means loading OK, but as soon as I tried to access the internet, he crashed and then got stuck in the loop once again to try to open and close then.

Anyone have any ideas? Is it a hardware problem, that I have to throw the PC?

    Thank you

    Hello

    ·        Do you have an error message when you try to start the system normally? If Yes, what is the exact error message?

    Method 1:

It might be that internet explorer is corrupt. I suggest to run a SFC scan on the system and check if the problem persists.

    a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    b. type the following command and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    Method 2:

I also suggest you to remove the external devices (such as printer, scanners, etc.) of your system and check whether you are able to start the system normally.

    Method 3:

It can also be that some driver or hardware causes this problem. I suggest a prior clean boot on the system and check if you are able to start the system normally. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

  • How can I disable Mode safe permanently?

I am one of the many people who use an addon for Firefox called "Leechblock" to help fight against the tendency to waste time online by visiting sites are time consuming, or in my case - visiting pornographic sites. LeechBlock helped, because it allowed me to ban the sites and search for terms that usually, I'd go. The only problem is that I know now I can bypass all of the ban by pressing 'Shift' when I click on FIrefox and the opening of Safe Mode, this allows me to freely search for porn and/or disable the addon.

I know that many other people use Leechblock in the same goal, and we all are facing this - if we could disable Safe mode on our own version of Firefox, it would take considerably more effort to return and return to those bad habits.

Others showed how to turn off Safe Mode, but they only worked with older versions of Firefox. What is someone with experience able to devote a little time to understand and explain to the non-technical user how to proceed on the latest version of Firefox?

Your help would be very appreciated, not only by me, but by others with the same question. Thank you!

  • That means when I can work in Mode safe, but normal mode is unusable

The other day, I booted up my laptop in the morning and read the news when my browser froze, then the whole system locked. Now, it takes an absurd amount of time to start, and once I have, the system hangs once more if I try to do anything. I am able to get safe mode and it works very well without any problems. So I'm clueless as to what the problem is. I tried to perform a clean boot and gave no results. I am running Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

  • After doing a system restore factory on my toshiba satellite when my windows screen it asking admin password I tried the old but it won't work but I can get on in safe mode please help

    It is a toshiba satelliteL505D-Ls5001

When you perform a factory restore then all passwords are cleared and you are prompted for an account name (that you choose) and his password.

If you are prompted for a password to an existing account, then you don't have a factory restore. Maybe you did a Windows restore to a Restore Point, in which case the password is the one that was current when the Restore Point was created.

If you can get in Mode safe under an admin account you can reset any desired password.

  • Instructions to get out of Safe Mode may not work (reboot, reset), then how the heck out of Mode safe?

Tonight, I went in Firefox for the first time at least two years. When I tried to open the version of Firefox, I got in my Applications, it is opened in Mode safe.

So I downloaded the latest version of Firefox open, and it automatically retrieved my old favorites. However, the download open mode without failure.

I have pores through the help files and tried a few suggestions required out of Safe Mode. I closed and reopened Firefox, choosing Reset. That did not work.

I closed Firefox and restarted my computer. Then I opened Firefox. It opened in Mode safe and gave me no alternative.

I only went in Firefox, because I couldn't access the router configuration page Cisco/Linksys (198.162.1.1) following the instructions I gave to me. I guess Chrome might have had a problem, so I decided to try Firefox. But I can never know if Firefox might have gotten me in the configuration page of the router, I have to go, because I'm stuck in Mode without failure.

While I strongly agree with nature without non-profit, open-source Firefox, I remember why I stopped using Firefox a long time ago: it is narrow in its help functions, and it takes too much knowledge of the user.

So, I'm stuck, and I can never get this router put in place, as I am in desperate need of.

I doubt that I will check in the forum, because I do not think there is any point. If I can't even get out of Safe Mode - and I don't know how it happened in Mode safe, because there certainly were no accidents in the years more doubled in the course of which I haven't used Firefox - it is useless to attempt to use this browser. If you want to contact me, you can do so through the email address I registered with.

Have you checked the target line in the shortcut to the Firefox desktop (right click: properties) to ensure that there not - safe-mode switch of attached command line?

Also make sure that you are not now the SHIFT key or use a hotkey with only the Shift modifier.
