create a remote hard disk recovery

HP support assistant proposed to create the recovery of our new laptop (HP Envy 17-j008eo) - by default, the program 'create recovey together' can create recovery set to DVD (single & double layer) and external USB Flash drive.

As I have a good NAS RAID-based system of home network, I want to create the recovery on remote drives har located on my NAS. Can I do this? How?

Sorry, but once again the answer is no it takes DVDs or a 32 GB USB Flash drive.

  • Satellite L850 - how to replace a HARD disk recovery partition?

    Hello.

Toshiba laptop Satellite L850. PSKDGA-02Y012. The original HARD drive has failed in his colleagues even mobile, so we replaced the two HARD drive after you have created a recovery USB. When used to restore the operating system to original status of OOB.
That has worked and portable runs much, but now I want to BACK the recovery partition (now only on the USB I think) for the new HARD drive.

Simple to shrink the disk HARD C: (partition 2) on the HARD disk, but then how to transfer twhats on the USB (USB recovery stick) back on the HARD drive?

    Thanks for any help.

    Karim...

    Hello karim

When you buy the notebook you will get it with preinstalled operating system (recovery image). Original recovery image is saved on the HARD disk on the recovery partition.
Each owner of the laptop has option to make the backup recovery image and create recovery media. It could be the DVD or USB support. You can do this by using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool.
This tool will create bootable recovery media that can be used for the installation of original image recovery if there is problem with the installation of image disk HARD recovery or when the drive is defective and must be replaced.

Where the HARD drive is faulty and should be replaced or the owner of the laptop to upgrade HARD drive, you can install original image created using recovery recovery media (USB). After installing recovery image, you will have the same situation as for the first boot after the purchase of the laptop. With other words notebook will have factory settings again.

In this case original recovery image is already copied onto the new HARD drive and you will also be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery. There is therefore no reason to copy a recovery on HARD drive media.
Please note: installation of HARD drive recovery works with the factory only settings.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

    Good luck.

  • Replacement for HP G62 hard disk recovery

    Hello

I've seen other similar users have reported this problem but am not finding an answer that would solve my problem.  Having a laptop of HP G62-355DX under Windows 7 Home Premium, the hard drive turned be default via diagnostic codes and by calling the HP technical support to confirm.  The mfr/size of the existing hard drive is a Samsung 320.   Bought a new Seagate 1 TB of Best Buy.   I have 4 HP recovery disks.  Through the specified process for the recovery of the system, but once reached the end of it when the display shows "Preparation of recovery is complete:

.. When the portable computer is restarted, it appears with the message no boot device is (and the hard drive for laptop boot option is enabled in the BIOS).

Am stuck at this point;  supposedly, more large drives are supposed to work but is at - it a known issue?  I've seen references to one for different situations in these forums (for a desktop PC, for example).

Or do I have to repartition the hard drive into two partitions, a 320GB and everything else - use someone elses of the Microsoft Windows 7 OEM CD?

I do not have the Microsoft Home Premimum disc of course, only the HP recovery discs.

The new hard drive sometimes requires to prepare first with utility cd from Cyberlink. Download and save the file. Once the download is complete, place a blank cd in your drive and click on the downloaded file to create a boot cd. Start with this cd and wait until you get a green check mark indicates the hard disk is ready. Remove the cd, insert the first disc of recovery and restart the laptop.

  • Hard disk recovery and replacement system

I have a laptop of 1155 ca HDX 16 running Windows 7 ultimate (upgrade of Vista) pre-installed. I recently discovered a bad sector or several bad sectors on my hard drive using many tools of diagnistics. SMART info indicates 3 pending sectors. Also, the hard drive failed the test under BIOS self-diagnose. That my computer can cope with imminent hard drive failure, I would like to replace the hard drive. Is there any HHDs with greater storage space and higer RPM compatible with this laptop? In addition, I can't create a second set of recovery disks containg my current system and settings, how would I be able to recover my data/system and how can I back up all my files current?

    Thank you.

    Hello:

You can use the backup and recovery of Windows 7 system to make a ghost image of your current content of the hard drive on a hard drive portable.  You will also need to make a bootable CD that will give you the opportunity to do so, to access the recovery files, and then reinstall your current configuration.

However, if I were you, I would back up all files, music and photos separately I didn't want to lose, just in case the reinstallation fails.

Although HP doesn't show any upgrades to your hard drive, I guess you'd be sure to install a 640 GB SATA 7200 RPM up to. It's a PC pretty modern.

You can also be on the right side and order a set of recovery disc for your laptop. They will be for Vista, but you can then go ahead and reinstall W7.  A set of recovery disks normally costs about $16.00.

Here is the link to the support page for your laptop.  Under the "Alerts for this product" section, you can click on the blue link indicating "how to order recovery disks.

    Hello sdf361,

The recovery partition, that is what you would use to restore your computer when you bought it with the OS on it
that was pre-installed. It is not your old programs and data on it. You will need to backup your data to restore and install
your programs since the original installation discs.

If you do not have the program disk, I suggest that the manufacturer of the computer.

    Hello

If you do not need all the data stored in that partition, I suggest that you format.

    See: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/fr-fr/Windows-Vista/Create-and-format-a-hard-disk-partition

Note: Upgrading to Windows 7 will write only the operating system files to this partition.

    Hello

Seems that drive HARD recovery does not work.
Perhaps something has changed on the recovery of HARD drive partition or recovery files has been deleted

Usually it s always advisable to create a recovery disk in a first time. This should be done at the beginning and this recovery disk is always useful if something would go wrong with drive recovery HARD or with HARD drive

Now, you can't get the phone because you don t have this drive and the HARD drive does not work

    What to do?
Well, I think that you would need new control disc.
    You can do so here:

  • installation of new hard disk recovery disk

    Hello

I changed the hard drive of my laptop, now I want to use recovery disks that I created earlier.

should which option I choose recovery system or factory reset. previous was 320 GB and 500 GB is new.

    Hello

I would choose the option 'Factory Reset' that your machine will be returned to the State, than it was at the time of purchase - IE, it will install the operating system, drivers, all original software and recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery partition D.

    Kind regards

  • Failure of SMART hard disk - no recovery disk

Hello. My laptop model Vaio VPCF126FM tells me that the hard drive has a failure (mini-message). In fact, the machine boots and I can connect to Windows, but once I try to do something with the fact that it freezes the HDD led on fixed. I have all my data backed up, but... I never created the recovery disks. I'm sure that this machine is out of warranty. So, what are my options? Buy a new HDD of, say, Amazon? And more important still, what OS? Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards.

I had a similar problem with a SATA drive in my Vaio. It happened to be a Western Digital (WD) 500G drive. I was able to 'fix' with DLGDIAG WD's package with a full scan. You may be able to do the same thing. If the player starts to really not, he can fix that temporarily, or it may not work at all with the repair.

You should always have the hard disk recovery partition, but I don't know how to use it if you replace the disk. You might be able to use an external enclosure for the drive sying and find a way to boot from the recovery partition to build on a new internal drive. Better would be to get your system of sufficient work to create recovery discs, which is what I was able to do. But for now, my reparied drive seems to work OK.

    Good luck!
