Create a While loop 2D table

How can I create a 2D table which is updated and displayed on the front panel after each iteration. It is 2D because I have a voltage that corresponds to a load.  I want to see the current voltage corresponding to the intensity of the current, and all the previous tensions and charges while the while loop is still iteration

Because all three looked like, I thought me save time by using a table and while loops. I have a dozen of these total movieClips, then rather than cut and paste each individual listener and if statement, it seems that there is a better way. And you smart people are the people who know. • Creating a table with a while loop

I want to create a table using a while loop but I don't know how to do it.  Basically, I want to do the same thing as in the image of the example VI in LabVIEW VIs, called 'Graph XY Data Types.vi' example, but with a while loop instead of a for loop.  The reason why I want to do with a while loop is because LabVIEW will not faint error or VISA data thanks to a for loop.

LabVIEW certainly enable you to pass out a mistake or VISA through a loop for. The default value is autoindex output and thus creating a table but is a simple right-click on the tunnel exit to change that. For recent versions, it changes the Tunnel mode to "last value". You can also use a shift register.

  • Two questions in table "While loop"

    Hello

I have two questions about creating tables in while loops. I'm using LabView 8.5.1.

In its simplest form, my current while loop (delay set to 0, 2 s) has 3 variables that have been changed by moving a slider. They are each sent to a line in a block of 'Building the table' (data type is DBL 1 d) - this table is then written to a spreadsheet file, such as the three values are written to a new line (one value per column) whenever the while loop runs.

    Question 1

How can I add a column 'Time' in this worksheet? In other words, get at the present time the loop works since then, from 0 seconds in the spreadsheet, via the table block building.

I can think of how to do this with a loop For, but given that the While loop runs through an unknown number of iterations, I can't figure out how to get the counter to work.

    Question 2

How can I text column headings on the worksheet?

Thanks for the help and if you need anything anyone stating, please let me know

    To answer question 1:

There is a function of 'Elapsed Time' you can put as the first colum of the data.

This then reformatted your spreadsheet as
    Time Data1 Data2 Data3

    Time Data1 Data2 Data3

    Time Data1 Data2 Data3

    etc...

    To answer question 2:

Build a table of positions, then write this table in the file only once, outside the loop.

Your table with the data and time will write inside the loop.

IM new to labview. I got the task to create the program for the route of some settings in my lab. I created a program to interface sourcemeter keithley 2636b that will help me source voltages in a range and get the current and the resistance and ground them. I used a simple while loop for this. My problem is the following. I need t extract the nth element of the array created for resistance after each measure and store it in an array. I need to make a resistance measurement several times one after another and save the nth element each time these individual tables and push it into a buffer so that I can trace elements in the buffer against a setting (this is called a measure TLM). I tried several methods. Some nice guy / gal had posted a solution using the loop to retrieve an item. Its doesn't work don't not in my program I need to use a loop in my time loop and it gives is not the correct value. Kindly advice. IM in a lot of pain. Help!

  • Table 1 d in the while loop problem

    Hello world

I searched this problem in the forum, but seems only some positions quite didn't answer.

I'm stuck by saving the data in a while loop.

I have a while loop, within which there are two exits in each iteration, I want to add to a table, and then after the while loop is completed, I want to combine these two tables in a 2D array (since the release of them must be a pair in my case).

I tried 'Build array' and 'transpose array' and 'write in spreadsheet' element set, which maintains concerns me is how simply to add the result in a 1 d table during each iteration, these 2 outputs are in digital format, which prevent to directly create a table for it.

    Any idea is appreciated,

  • Table of while loop

    Hello

How can I get the table while loop in the attachment?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    [Running LabView 8.5].

    Thank you

    hiNi.

What do you mean by "get a picture?"  You get a table that will have a random number in the 1st item and the number 10 as the second element.

You try to build a table of values that contain information on all iterations?  Then right-click on the tunnel and turn on automatic indexing.

  • loop for and while loop with empty table entry

    Hello

I have a question with loop and loop.

When a constant empty array (zero element) is connected to the loop For with "allowing the index", there are no interactions performed in loop For. But, if the loop is replaced by any loop, no problem.

    LabVIEW 2010

    Hello

It is ok. I have no problem at all.

For the 'loop' For when you connect the table thanks to indexing, the number of iterations is set to the size of the array. The iteration number assigned to N (in your case 10) is ignored.

For the 'While' loop the number of iteration is defined by the Boolean Condition and the size of the array is ignored.

  • How to create a control of time for the while loop?

    Hi all

I want to control my time running of the loop. In other words, I want to stop everything in the execution of the loop after a time (in ms) that is defined by the user. For example user defines Control Panel for 5 seconds before a while loop runs and stops after 5 seconds.

I don't know is it possible with the while loop. I managed with the timed loop, but this must be wrong with my application. Y at - it of the other loops for timed control if it is not possible with while loop? There is also a simple loop with .vi random number (0-1) as an attachment.

  • What is READ the array returned by the DAQmx meter? How can I know the two functions DAQmx READ data stream in the same WHILE loop?

I have a question about the order of execution.  In the WHILE loop, I have two things to measure, period and tension using the DAQmx READ functions for voltage and the meter.  In the end, I want to collect these data as points almost simultaneously as possible, as a pair and then send them together to another piece of code (not shown here) which them will result in some sort of command for an engine.  It would be run, and then I want to perceive the tension and the period at a time later and do the same thing.

(1.) I'm a little confused on what the meter of the READ function is back because it's a table.  What is a picture of?  I thought that it was up to the value of the individual periods between rising edges.  The output of the counter 1 DBL d's a table. How many elements in this table, and what determines the size of this table?  Are the elements of the array the individual delays between the edges?  How many values are stored in the array by executing?   We take the AVERAGE of the last 15 items, but do not know if we are throwing some of the data or what.  How to understand the composition of this painting?  How can I change the composition of this painting?  Is it possible to measure only one period at a time, for example the time between TWO edges?

2.) Will this WHILE loop execute as it gathers tension and a "period table ' (remains to be understood by me) by TIME running in a loop?  In particular, we want that the value of the tension associated with the value of the AVERAGE of the period "array", so we can use two data items to create orders of next control every time that the two values are reported.  The structure for the delivery of vi will be attached data in pairs like this?  I understand that one of the READING functions run not before the other function of READING in the WHILE loop.  I want that the period "means" and "strain (Volt) collected at the same pace. This vi will he?

    Thank you

    Dave

    Hi David,

I suggest including the DAQmx Start Task function. If it does not start before the loop, it starts the loop and work very well, but it is not as fast and efficient. In the model of task status, task wiill go to run the checked each iteration of the loop and then back the time checked running when it restarts.

The status of the task model: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370466V-01/mxcncpts/taskstatemodel/

  • How to set up the execution in a way independent while loops?

    Hello

I hope someone here can help point me in the right direction for that.  My system at this stage is still quite simple, I just data collection of 2 resistance probe and a pressure sensor, their output in the Panel before and sometimes to write.  I have put architecture in place to call parallel loops running at the frequency I would ideally like to do.  that is, I want the RTD to update every seconds and the pressure transducer for updating chaque.5s, I want to write to the file at a rate defined by the user and I want the Panel before updating a half second (correspondence with the pressure transducer).

Now, in the structure, I wrote, it should run all the while loop once before it can restart the sequence.  Technically, the code works, but it takes ~1.5s to the RTD to collect and update and so the whole VI takes ~1.5s to complete.

I don't care if the RTD is slow to update, but as I use the sensor as a gauge of the cell pressure I need to know at a high frequency that the pressure is in the cell, and I don't want to wait 2 seconds for the information.

I know I'm starting to get into a much more advanced architecture for this and ive spent the last googler 6 hours trying to find a procedure for how it works but I can't figure out a way to have the whiles stop waiting for RTD loop finish.  I guess that this is to divide the VI in several screws and construction of a library, but the resources I could find about it were not very useful for a beginner like me.  If someone could point me in the right direction on where I should look then that would be great!

    Thank you

    Zach

    Zach,

Because you created the tasks of data acquisition elsewhere, we do not understand how you have set up. Continuously, starting and stopping tasks may be slower than setting up of a permanent task and let it run.

You have not indicated that you use the DAQ hardware.  It is often better to leave in the DAQ hardware clock set ignition rather than rely on software distribution. The pressure loop reads 1000 samples at a time and calculates their.  If you're not sampling at 2000 s/s or faster, the loop ends late due to waiting for data.  In two loops DAQ, you do not use the calendar information.  Acquire the data in tables rather than waveforms.

The Dequeue functions in the loop at the bottom have no wait times for this loop will not iterate until all three queues have data. As the pressure loop runs faster than the loop of RTD, the queue of pressure slowly fills.

The upper and lower loops are vying for the data.  The preview queue item does not delete data from the queue, but the functions of the Dequeue elements in the loop of the low fact.  If data is deleted form the queue before the upper loop resembles it, it will never be saved. With your installation there is no way to ensure that you get all the data or that you do not read and record the same data more than once.

You don't have anything set up to stop one of the loops.  You use the Cancel button to stop your VI?  If Yes, STOP! Other aprticpant on the Forums said: "using the button abandon to stop a VI is similar to the use of a tree to stop a car.»  It works, but can have unintended consequences. "Things like closing of files, freeing up the queues, by closing the task of acquiring data, and other things can occur when the program is interrupted.  You do not shut down your computer by pulling the plug.  Stop your program also neatly.

Ok.  I have highlighted some of the things that can keep your program to run as desired.  What can you do about them?

    1. you probably don't need call loops.  Normal so the loop should be good enough.

2 put a stop button on the front panel. Put the terminal in loops (bottom) and connect it to a function to send a Notification and the status of the Terminal loop (stop sign).  Put wait Notification functions in each of the other loops.  Put a period shorter than the time loop minimum on all of them if the lops can work.

    3. see the comments above regarding the DAQ bed material.

4 use the Dequeue timeouts to adjust the pitch of the loop the loop where the data is used.  Also make sure that all data is removed.  You need to think about your time together and what are the bottlenecks.  Except if you expect this system to grow to much larger dat sets, I probably acquire ALL data (pressure and RTD) at the same rate and reduce the displayed amount by the average like you do for pressure data now.  If you want different final data rates, just average different amounts of data.

    5. it might be useful to learn how to work the State machines.  Display, averaged and recorded files could be managed in a loop by a simple state machine while allowing for more flexibility in the calendar.

    6. Another good reason to consider a state machine is that initialization and shutdown processes can easily be handled in the corresponding States. At this point you do nothing with errors. A state machine would enable you to handle errors (for example, the cancellation of the selection of the user files) without stopping the program.

  • storage of the data output of while loop

    Hello

I have a data acquisition system set up to read the couple of a transducer. The output needs to be fed with an excel document, once the program stops running, or when a key is pressed.

with the current code attached, the excel document is created, but it only shows the most recent series of data. How to make the table to store all the data coming from while loop?

Ive only been programming with labview for two weeks, so chances are that it is something simple, but please help us in any case.

    JM

To get what you expect, the Terminal output of table a while loop right click and select the option activate Indexing. Usually if you want to save data use queue to pass data inside the while loop to another loop/VI and perform data recording. For all that you have examples, please do a searc in LabVIEW help > find examples.

  • dispplaying data on the graph of waveform inside/outside while loop

I create a vi using the random number generator, entering the number in the function(express>>arithmateic>>maths>>trig>>sine) fishing and connect the output of the function sine waveforms. Table of waveform show no problem. If I replace the with graphic waveform table, I get an error that the source type is differenct type of sink. I then put waveform chart outside loop everything hoping that tunnel would act as a table, but still I get the same error. I then put build table palette between all border and loop waveform graph which is placed outside the while loop. I get no error, but no data is displayed on the graph of a waveform. Theoretically, if I press stop I would see a distorted sine wave on the waveform graph, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I am wondering how to view data on the graph of a waveform in such cases!

Thank you in advance for reading and help!

    See you soon

First of all, you can take a part of the basis of LabVIEW tutorials.

Since you need to work with a chart and it is the preferred method to display data point by point, I don't know why you try to use a chart. In any case, you cannot use all simply a table of generation because that would be just the result of the last iteration and your graph indicates it is a single point. If you activate autoindexing, then you get all the values, but not before the end of the loop. If you were to use a shift register and the build dashboard, you might place the graphic inside the loop, but then you would face performance issues that the table would grow uncontrollably.
