create aggregation tables using job Manager windows client linux server BI

Hi people,

I have OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 running on a Linux server.
I'm trying to run the script in overall table created via the wizard by using the Task Manager.

Task Manager requires a DSN to run on. But saw that the job scheduler runs on the Linux machine so there is no DSN point to?

My question is:

I need to install and configure a scheduler on a windows environment to launch task manager to run the NQCmd script to the aggregation tables?
or
Can I get the linux box to have his own NAME or see the windows one somehow?

If you have information or advice that would be really untangle me.

Thank you.

You don't need to change anything, just use AnalyticsWeb in your nqcmd call, and it should work.

  • Date dimension unique creating aggregation tables

    Hi guys,.

I have a date single dimension (D1 - D) with key as date_id and the granularity is at the level of the day. I did table(F1-D) that gives daily transactions. Now, I created three tables of aggregation with F2-M(aggregated to monthly), Q(Aggregated to quarterly)-F3, F4-Y(Aggregated to yearly). As I said. I have a table of unique date with date-id as a key dimension. I have other columns month, quarter, year in the Date dimension.

My question is: is this single dimension table is sufficient to create the joins and maintain layer MDB. I joined the date_id of all facts in the physical layer. MDB layer, I have a fact and logical table 4 sources. II have created the hierarchy of the Date dimension dimension and created the logical levels as a year, quarter, month, and day and also set their respective level keys. Now, after doing this I also put the logic levels for logic table 4 sources in the fact table.

Here, I get an error saying:

    WARNINGS:

    BUSINESS financial model MODEL:
[39059] D04_DIM_DATE logical dimension table has a source of D04_DIM_DATE at the level of detail of D04_DIM_DATE that connects to a source of fact level superior F02_FACT_GL_DLY_TRAN_BAL. F03_FACT_GL_PERIOD_TRAN_BAL

Can someone tell me why I get this error.

Reverse - your group table months must have information on the year.

It's so she can be summarized in the parent hierarchy levels.

In general, it is so you don't have to create a table of aggregation for each situation - your table of months can be used for aggregates of the year. Still quite effective (12 times more data than the needs, but better than 365 times).

Think about your particular situation where you have a year AND a month group you might get away without information from parent levels - but I have not tested this scenario.

With the second part, let's say you have a description of months and a key of the month field. When you select month and income description, obiee needs to know where to find the description of months of. You don't find it secondary date for reasons mentioned previously dimension table. So, you tell him to do it from the global table. It is a simple as you drag the respective physical column from the overall table on the existing logical column for the description of months.

    Kind regards

  • Creating external Tables using the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE in PL/SQL

    Hi guys,.

I am trying to create an external Table using the EXECUTE IMMEDIATE in a procedure and I managed to compile and no errors were generated. But when I try to run it from sql using the exec command I get the following error:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ERROR on line 5:
    ORA-00911: invalid character
    ORA-06512: at "GEO. TEST_DDL', line 4
    ORA-06512: at line 5

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

I tried to check the whole statement to create the external table, but I can't find where is the error. Surprisingly, if I simply run the command table create external on sqlplus it works, but not a procedure.

If anyone can help with ideas or experience?

    Geoffrey Kossami

The error means that there is an identifier somewhere that starts with a nonalphanumeric. This is a typical mistake of editing. A procedure compiles correctly is not of course because the underlying dynamic sql running is OK. Which of course only be resolved when you try to run it.

There is certainly a problem with the text you provide to be run as a piece of dynamic sql code. You should try to watch it with dbms_output and run this code in sqlplus. But your problem is with the code you run as dynamic PL/SQL, it is not itself compilable.

  • Create the table using check constraints

I am trying to create a table with the following sql statement.

I am gettign the following error

"ORA-02438: column check constraint cannot reference other columns.

How can I get this red using a trigger.
    Help, please

Simply, you missed a comma after your last column and constraint.

    ME_XE?CREATE TABLE suppliers

  • It is possible to add records to tables using Enterprise Manager?

Can we add records to tables using Oracle Enterprise Manager web interface instead of the sqlplus commands? If not, is there an easy way to insert data into the table using a GUI?

Yes, you can use the most common and free GUI tools like SQL Developer

Detaching Frank, however, and echoing my previous comment, let them down and to re-create the tables makes no sense. It is logical to truncate a table if you test a load. If you build a data warehouse, it makes sense to delete and re-create a partition if you rerun a load for a particular date and that you have daily partitions. Deletion and recreation of a table in a stored procedure is not a reasonable way to test a system (nor is there a reasonable way to approach change control issues that will inevitably produce when you need to change the structure of a table).

  • Install PeopleTools 8,53 Linux question: Windows Client and server Linux

    People,

Hello. I install PeopleTools 8,53 Internet Architecture. Database server is Dabase Oracle 11 GR 1 material. Operating system is Oracle Linux 5. I installed successfully JDK7, WebLogic Tuxedo 11 GR 1 material and PeopleTools 8,53 10.3.6, in Oracle Linux 5.

Now, I'm going to implement database PeopleTools8.53. Because the Wizard installation problem, I created PeopleTools 8,53 database manually using Starter named PT853 Oracle database instance. We need run Data Mover script in a Windows Client computer to populate the PeopleSoft database instance in Linux Sever machine.

    Suppose that:

    VM1: Server - Oracle Linux 5 Machine
    VM2: Client - Windows XP

    Nicolas has this tutorial:

    http://Gasparotto.blogspot.com/2008/01/on-PeopleSoft-road-PeopleSoft-database_10.html

Step 15 to step 23, Nicolas does not explain how to connect VM2 (client) with VM1 (server) and load some data from to VM1 VM2.

    My questions are:

First of all, we need to install PeopleTools 8.53 Windows version on the Client Windows XP when installing PeopleTools 8,53 Linux version on the machine Oracle Linux 5 Server?

Second, how to connect with VM1 VM2, and then load to VM1 VM2 data?

    Thank you.

My computer's processor 64-bit, so 32-bit install PeopleTools or Oracle database server, there must be some mistakes!

No errors. 32 applications and processes will be running on 64-bit Windows. PeopleTools client programs (PSIDE, etc.) require the Oracle 32-bit client

What are the 'Oracle customer' in Windows machine?

'Oracle customer' is the "connectedness agenda" used by Oracle to connect to the Oracle database.

You mean besides install PeopleTools 8.53 in the Windows client computer, still need to install the Oracle database server in Windows client machine?

No, not the database server Oracle, just the Oracle client. You can download it separately from delivery for your client operating system.

  • Collects statistics for tables using jobs in Oracle 11 G 11.2.0.1.0?

    Hello

My query is regarding the collection of statistics for tables.

My Version of Oracle DB is:
    BANNER
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production
    PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    CORE 11.2.0.1.0 Production
AMT for Linux: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production

In versions of prior oracle db, we used to schedule tasks to run on a daily basis for collecting statistics. Especially for tables that are frequent and huge inserts.

I read that in 11g stats for all of the schema on a database are automatically make every night jobs. I checked these jobs and I see that they are running on a monthly basis [joined query]. This job is enabled and is scheduled to run monthly.
This means that my diagram will be analyzed on a monthly basis. My understanding is correct?

Can I still plan jobs to collect statistics for specific tables on every week? This will diminish the performance?
We expect 100000 documents to insert on a daily basis.

  • How to create the Table using the column Drag and Drop feature

    Hello:
I'm new to Data Modeler tool Oracle SQL dev and would like to know if there is a way to create a new table by reusing existing columns or groups of columns. The idea is to maintain consistency and save time of table design. If the columns created previously can be reused and require, drag and drop column in the right pane, then only new columns must be created manually.

Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

Yes - just change the name of the model table in the script (t_name = "table_template") then save this new transformation for later use.

I don't know how to apply only some of the tables. Seems like something you could do to a secondary view level?

Perhaps someone else on the forum can advise how to change the script to work on a subview only instead of the whole model.

Thanks for your time and your help.

As says the Exception, your user JACK does NOT CREATE TABLE privileges granted DIRECTLY to them (not through a role) on the NEWACCOUNTACTI_TEST table. Grant privileges directly to the user.

Yes, as long as you column alias names common to both tables to make them unique.
