  I have updated the HARD original SDD disk disk drive.
  First of all, I cloned the old drive and installed the image but then the updates of windows would not work.

  Looking at all the forums and I tried everything I read, but updates still did not work.

  Finally formatted the drive and then used the original system restore disks that work fine on the old hard drive but Windows end retsarting continuously after all 3 disks installed.

  He tried to finish the installation but then gets and error and restarts and loops just over and over again.

  Is this something to do with the 4 k sectors?
  Do I need other drivers?
  How can I factory reinstall my Windows 7 disc new SSHD?

  Generally, the Toshiba recovery disks should install Toshiba image on the new HARD drive or disc SSD and the unit should start correctly.

  To be honest, I'm not very well why the laptop keeps restarting after the installation of m.
  But I guess it has something to do with the partitions and sizes of the partitions.

  Is that the Toshiba recovery disks would format the drive HARD (or SSD) and create the same partitions and sizes of the partitions.

  In case the installation of the system would not work by using the recovery discs, I would recommend you trying to install the system by using the Microsoft Windows CD clean. The essential drivers may be downloaded from the Toshiba UE driver page.

  If your PC has only an optical drive and a hard drive, then you should be able to add two more SATA devices.  Check out these practical articlesof HP.

  I want to replace the current 32 GB SDD with a 256GB SDD. I don't know how many records the 2720 XPS can hold and what kind.

  -Can it accommodate a new SDS plus the drive HARD and SDS that are already there?  Alternatively, if I need to replace the current SDS? If Yes, should it be mSata or the computer can hold the two SATAs?  I'm looking at the Samsung 840 Pro 256.

  I checked specification for this Portege and can't find any info on this type of upgrade.

  In the past, that Toshiba has offered several models of different laptops with adapter separated from SelectableBay HDD and instead of ODD, it was possible to put the second HARD drive. Unfortunately I think that it is not available for this Portege.

  A friend told Tecra R10 too but it s not easy to exchange the HARD drive because you have to remove many parts, like the keyboard, Base Assy and lots of screws. When you replace the HARD drive on this laptop, you should know what you're doing because it s a procedure difficult and you should have experience with laptop disassembly.

  This upgrade is not problematic and you can do it. I upgraded my laptop older with similar SSD and it works without problem.

  Please note: before that, you create a recovery (DVD or USB) media. With the help of this recovery media, you can install original recovery image on new SSD.

  I ve checked SSD Toshiba page and found some info here.
  For now, Toshiba offers 512 GB drive mSATA.
  Use Google and check if some other manufacturers offer more capacity.

  At the moment there is no info on compatibility. What you can do is to call the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They have access to the Toshiba database then perhaps they can pick up some useful information for you.

  SO as I said, my HARD drive wasn't so I went and replaced by a DDI, I did not have any recovery disk or anything, because I didn't need anything off the old HARD drive (I had an external which had all my videos and photos) now my only question is how can I load my old windows 8 OS and then upgrade to windows 10.

  Evo 850 is better, but you want to get at least a 240 gig. With something more kid you'll have problems with restoring from an HP restore disc.

  Not the upgrade easier in the world but not the most difficult or the other. See p. 34. You must remove the back cover.

  HP said that you are allowed to make a disc ssd update on models that are technically not end-user accessible like yours, and as long as no damage is done, the guarantee will be not taken away.

  So, you CAN do it yourself, or if after reviewing the manual, it seems too much for you, you can have the upgrade performed by a technician of your choice. The Service Center will not make it free and I don't know they will install 3rd party party for you and their SSDS tend to be very expensive and there will be a limited choice menu. If you do it yourself or you did, you can install whatever it is compatible and probably come out before many dollars.

  Post back if you need help more with reinstalling software, SSD selction, etc..
