Hyberfil.sys file size more than 2 GB! Window 7 Ultimate
Hello
I use Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit Os type in its root directory I found hyberfil.sys that show its size 2.36 GB is it normal or I can reduce its size manually change can cause a serious problem.
Please guide me.
Thank you
OPB
Hiberfil is used for the hibernation. You can't set the size. It is a function of the amount of RAM you have. If you don't use hibernation you can completely eliminate the file by typing powercfg-h off in an elevated command prompt. (Start > run > cmd > right click > run as administrator)
-
Do the CHKDSK command, only problem found a bad cluster that windows has replaced name hiberfil.sys. Checking is at step 5 5 55% verified. Should I consider buying a new hard drive? I read that I have to disable hibernation, then delete the file...
You shouldn't give up on your hard drive based on this bit of evidence. You can visit the website of the manufacturer of your hard drive (probably from Western Digital, Seagate and Toshiba, decreasing probability) and get their diagnostic program. You can delete hiberfil.sys and it will be recreated. You can do the same thing by disabling the Hibernate, restart, and then turn it back on.

When do I need clear Island hyberfile.sys f? or Windows it clears for me?
Tracy
Hyberfile.sys is what is contained in the memory when the computer goes into hibernation. He writes about himself whenever so the size is usually about the same, there is no need to delete.

created and last_ddl_time are not correct
4.1beta: the query to retrieve the stats is not correct, as using "rownum = 1" instead of use the object_type
test case:
Select * from user_objects where type_objet = 'INDEX' to order of creation;
Object_name: PK_DEPT
Created: 31 October 14
Now, create a table with that name
CREATE TABLE PK_DEPT (x number);
Browse the index, see PK_DEPT index, you will see that it was created today, sometimes. It does not reproduce at will (where rownum = 1 is somewhat random)
Select o.created, o.last_ddl_time, i. (select owner, object_name, created, last_ddl_time sys. Dba_objects where object_name =: OBJECT_NAME and owner =: proprietaire_objet and rownum = 1) o, (select * from sys.) Dba_indexes where owner =: proprietaire_objet and index_name =: OBJECT_NAME) I where o.owner = i.owner and i.index_name = (+) o.object_name (+)
Must read: and object_type ='INDEX'...Fixed for ai2, but you shouldn't tables and indexes the same name

Invalid SYS objects will cause thread Oracle 9.2.0.8 crashing?
Hi Experts
Here is a brief account of what happened...
(1) a toad, connect as sys to modify a function in a user schema
(2) created this function in the schema sys by mistake and he was not valid. Error PLS-00201: identifier ' LOT. LINECODE' must be declared and PL/SQL error: complete Compilation unit analysis have been encounterd in this function in the sys schema. No further action was taken here <-root cause?
(3) go to modify the function in the appropriate user schema.
(4) ard hour later, at 10:59, I got a < SID > core.log, no detail in the alert.log or trace file was given. Winows scheduled jobs before and after this moment were properly completed.
(5) restarted db and server and operated as usual. (no more of 9i does support of Oracle)
First of all, my question is, what are the chances of the invalid function in the schema SYS cause me to receive a < SID > core.log or causing the db to experience weird performance problem?
Second, use sys credentials only for the start and stop of the database? And log in as the user schema for compiling?
Thanks for your help.SYS must be used for the DBA functions - not to develop and compile the user code.
No, creating a user object (even a non valid) does not cause the Oracle instance crashing. Essential parts in the SYS schema are the data dictionary - and a user object created in SYS "would not damage" the data dictionary, except if it replaces a data dictionary object existing.

Impdp discharge specific schema that was created using full = y
Hello
I received a dump (expdp) that was created by using the parameter FULL = Y. I want to just import only a single schema (impdp) in my database. I used remap_schema and exclude = grants. The pattern I want to import is successfully completed, but in my import log, I get messages such as:
ORA-31684: TABLESPACE object Type: 'TS_BCST1' already exists
ORA-31684: USER object Type: 'OUTLN' already exists
ORA-31684: SEQUENCE object type: 'SYSTEM '. "" MVIEW$ _ADVSEQ_GENERIC ' already exists
How can I use only impdp to import under my specific schema objects and do not have impdp attempt to create system/sys users and its objects, create storage spaces, etc. etc.
Kindly help.

The query above will not work because there is a syntax error.
Count the number of left and right parentheses.Edit your post and use the code and tell us who is line #20.
My guess is that it's this line
dbms_session.set_context('MY_CTX','ENAME_' || CNT, V_NAME);
You don't show any CONTEXT procedure code. DBMS_SESSION. SET_CONTEXT in doc PL/SQL Packages and Types
See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28419/d_sessio.htm#i1010942

Otherwise, add the schema name before the name of the index (if not index will be created under SYS) and table name (since you missed the creation of synonym).

How to modify a table that is owned by sys?
I connected as sysdba and created a table. So I decided to remove a column from the table and Oracle gave me the following error message:
ORA-12988: cannot remove column of table belonged to SYS
I have read about the error and learned that I better not create tables when you are logged in as sys. So I can drop all the table, but not a column of the table.
Why is that I can modify the table, but can't remove her columns when I am logged in as sys?
Is it possible to remove columns from the table, that I created?
What should I do with this table, I created under sys? Do I have to delete the entire table, because it is immutable?
Published by: artanis April 12, 2010 03:47Hi Artanis,
See for this just to ensure that everyone connected as user SYS should not intentionally or by mistake be no matter which column of a table that is owned by SYS because the sys user owns all the data dictionary tables and Oracle is not one of these tables in no case be changed or you can say that they do not want anything in the SYS schema should be modified by manual action as any structure of the object changes. This is the reason why it is advisable to do not create user objects in the sys schema.

Create tablespace error on ASM
SQL > CREATE TABLESPACE "SYS-AUDIT_D1.
2 DATAFILE '+ DATA/LUCMT/SYS_AUDIT ";
CREATE TABLESPACE "SYS-AUDIT_D1.
*
ERROR on line 1:
ORA-01119: error in creating file of database "+ DATA/LUCMT/SYS_AUDIT".
ORA-17502: cannot create the file + DATA/LUCMT/SYS_AUDIT ksfdcre:3
ORA-15173: entry 'SYS_AUDIT' does not exist in the directory "LUCMT".
ANY IDEA?
thnx in advanceHello
When creating a tablespace, specify the full path of the data file. This must exist before you create the data file.
The only way do not specify the no pre-existing path, and the path of the data file is simply mentioning the diskgroup as follows.
CREATE THE 'SYS_AUDIT_D1' FILE TABLESPACE DATA '+ DATA' SIZE 10 M;
It will follow OMF and create files.
If you want to create files in a specific directory with the specific name create as follows
CREATE TABLESPACE "SYS_AUDIT_D1" FILE DATA '+ DATA/LUCMT/SYS_AUDIT' SIZE 10 M;
Specify the size clause. This will prevent the error.
Kind regards

Privilege to allow a user to create a view of another user schema
Hello
I need allow a user create a view of another user schema.
Say, log in as the latter and run the statement: "create view USER_B_SCHEMA.myview as select...". »
Is there a way to achieve this without the agreement of this last privilege to CREATE ANY VIEW? I want to keep it on the profile as low as possible.
Thank you!You can create a stored procedure, here's a test case (not optimized, no free bug):
SYS@orcl > create user sp_owner identified by sp_owner; SYS@orcl > grant create any view to sp_owner; SYS@orcl> create procedure sp_owner.create_view ( 2 view_name varchar2, view_sql varchar2 ) is 3 begin 4 execute immediate 'create view '||view_name||' as '||view_sql; 5 end; 6 / Procedure created. SYS@orcl > create user test identified by test; SYS@orcl > grant create session to test; SYS@orcl > grant execute on sp_owner.create_view to test; TEST@orcl> execute sp_owner.create_view('scott.emp_vw','select * from scott.emp') PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

I've recently updated my Vista to Service Pack 2, and a lot of problems arise. I've never had these problems with Service Pack 1.
(1) my hard drive space keeps disappearing. I used to have 10 GB of free space and now he got up to 400 MBs. Where is he past? I have not installed any programs or downloaded viruses. I've never had this problem until Service Pack 2 has been installed. I heard people saying delete "restore points" but I've never had this problem with SP1. Why SP2 should change my settings without my consent? How can I recover my memory disappears?
(2) update my window is DISABLED. I never left my computer install updates by itself, because I like to choose what updates I want. However, I always get 'new' random programs whenever I restart my computer. Just recently (4 days after I installed SP2) I have a 'maintenance' folder in my Start menu. I did some research and it said that I had already installed maintenance, but then why he told me it was a 'new program' when I've had it for awhile?
(3) my battery life went from roughly 15 minutes an hour. While I understand batteries degrade over time, I highly doubt he would go from 1 hour 15 minutes instantly. I'm not an engineer so I have no idea how batteries work, but I guess that my autonomy would see a gradual decline. In addition, I find it very doubtful that my autonomy would diminish much the day of this, I installed SP2. What are the ways for me to reduce the process that SP2 uses so I can save my autonomy?
Thank you
Hi 60201
You can try the following steps and check.
Step 1:
You try to run a disk cleanup to remove unwanted files and check if the problem persists.
For more information, run Disk Cleanup, see the following link:
Delete files using disk cleanup.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup
Step 2:
This can also occur if the power options are changed. You can check the power settings.
Check out the link:
Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme)
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-create-or-delete-a-power-plan-scheme
Also check that the size of the hyberfil.sys and pagefile.sys
If hibernation is enabled, the hyberfil.sys file size will be more.
You can also check the event viewer to check any recent activity that happens on the computer as well as the performance.
Links:
