Create independent discs?

Hello

I am trying to create an "independent-no persistent" virtual disk with player 3.1.3 (host: Win XP Pro SP3, guest: any). Aid says it is possible to select this option in the "Mode" Disk Wizard page, but I'm unable to do this page. Any suggestion?

Thank you

of course - see http://sanbarrow.com/vmx/vmx-ide.html

the parameter .blog lies in the vmx file apples and so to a virtual machine.

the weather of the sets only one mode disc a specific virtual machine can create snapshots for a special vmdk.
It is not an attribute of the vmdk itself

    Hello

just bought a satellite A505-S6005 and try to create recovery discs.
    I am using Dynex DVD - R.

He created the 1st disk after the slightest mistake 2 times and when I started the 2nd drive continued to get again the message that is OE01BS-26 error Code - 2 said A 037303 power calibration area error occurred, check the disk for dirt or scratches.

The disks are not scratched, and after going through 5-6 discs wonder if something is wrong with the optical drive & not the disks.

    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello

I think it's a problem with your DVD media
    You are using incompatible disks!

Try different DVD from different manufacturers.
I m using the Verbatim or TDK DVD-R and my CD/DVD drive handles these discs without problem.

Check it! I'm sure this will help you!

    Hello

My pc start up after that I did a system restore. For example, I can't use the function fn key.

Last week I tried to format my pc. But when I opened the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator got an untimely error 00000001-49-0D00F6.

I've managed to create 2 4 DVDs. IM using Dvd - r from memorex.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is the first time that you try to create recovery discs?

How you created 2 discs if the Toshiba recovery disc creator starts by mistake?

Anyway, in this forum you will find similar topics. No doubt some recovery file is damaged, and the drive could not be created.
I put t think that there is something that you can about it. Either it works or not. Maybe you should contact the nearest Toshiba service and explain the situation. I hope they can help you with this and disc Toshiba DVD original to order for you.

I think it's important to do these recovery disks, but I have already lost 5 discs already. Is there any help that anyone can give.

The hidden restore partition has been deleted or changed?

Perhaps the hidden partition was damaged because of a loss of power or something.

You should test the memory and the disk using Memtest: www.memtest.org and DFT: http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm

  • Creating recovery discs - what kind of discs to use

When you go to the creation of recovery media it is said to use DVD-R discs. Does this mean that you can not use CD - R discs to create recovery media? I have a stack of new CD - R discs, that I like to use, but I don't want to spoil it. Recovery Media Creator says that you can create once discs which is scary, because I made the bad front discs. Guys do you recommend a particular brand of discs? I want to make sure that the recovery disks to burn properyly.

-CD R discs too small @650 MB.

DVD-R media is 4.7 GB and that is why it is the standard used.

The best support for DVD is generally accepted to be JVC Taiyo Yuden

  • Create a disc of the Encyclopedia Britannica, which is designed for up to Windows XP with Vista work. Is this possible?

Create a disc of the Encyclopedia Britannica, which is designed for up to Windows XP with Vista work. Is this possible?

    Hi Silas Martin,

I have not used Britannica for many years now, but I suppose there is a program of "installation"? If so, try compatibility mode.

1 / locate the setup.exe (or install file) for the program of Britannica

2 / right click on the file setup.exe or install.exe, and in the drop-down menu, select Properties.

3 / in the Properties window, click the Compatibility tab

4 / on the Compatibility tab place a 'TICK' in the box beside the box "run this program in compatibility mode for", then select the operating system Windows XP (Service Pack 3). This should automatically appear in the box under the run this program in compatibility mode for option. If Windows XP is not visible, then click on the arrow down to see a selection of the available operating system options.

    5 / click OK

6 / the installation program will now begin to install the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP

7 / once done, you should be able to run the program as if you were using Windows XP

  • How can I continue creating recovery discs?

Hello! I just bought a HP Pavilion dv6-3011so, and told me to create recovery discs as soon as I had installed the computer. I read in the manual that I stopped the creation and that the next time I opened the Recovery Manager he asked me to continue and to insert the following DVD and so on.

As it was getting late, I decided to stop creating and continue the next day (today), and I opened up to Recovery Manager. He didn't ask me to keep anything. I Googled it and couldn't find any information, not even on the HP website. I don't know if I should choose "Creating recovery discs" once again, but I think it will only begin to calculate how much Swedish I will need? Or it will not start calculating where I was when I interrupted the creation yesterday (I had just finished disc 2 of 6)? I don't want to do anything until I know for sure I do the right thing, because I feel that this can never be done again.

    Please help me!

    Hello

If you restart recovery disc creation, it should carry from where you left off.

    Best wishes

  • Possibility of creating recovery discs isn't available.

I want to create recovery disks for my HP Pavillion 2260 - EA, Windows 7 64 bit, but the option is no longer available in my HP support Assistant. I selected the option once, but had to cancel because he wants more DVD discs I've owned. I then bought several discs. Now the option is no longer available for me to choose.

In my view, we can only create recovery discs once. The PC noted, therefore, that I used this option, when in fact I've never really done. Can I do now?

    -Mike

Hi, it is possible Action Center of this HPSA saw this task as completed and this is why it is not.  I recommend that you try to access the Recovery Manager through the start menu. If you select all programs from the start, you should see a list for safety and Protection, click on that and then click on Recovery Manager and finally, you should see a list for the creation of recovery media. Clicking on that brings you to the creation screen.

If for some reason that there is no option, the only solution I know of "reset" of the option of creating media is to perform a recovery of HP sent a recovery media. Performing a restore partition recovery will not work.

Hope this information helps. If you need help, please ask.

  • VDDK v1.2 is unable to create the disc on the other file system

I work on one file system other than NTFS for Windows and should be able to create a virtual drive it.

Using the new v1.2 VDDK, I try the following command:

    VMware-vdiskmanager - c - a free - 0 TS 70 GB
    .pdvfs\myserver\2\CarlData\CarlData.VMDK

    It fails with the error:

Unable to create the disc: the file is too large for the filesystem (0xc00000015).

With the help of the utility even 1.1 VDDK works very well.

If I map the 'share' to a drive letter, the next command in the V1.2 works too well:

    VMware-vdiskmanager - c - a free - 0 TS 70 GB Q:\2\CarlData\CarlData.vmdk

I know from painful experience last year that the error "the file is too big" is pretty generic, and generally means vixdisklib think that the target file system is not NTFS.  I changed my driver year last to convince vixdisklib v1.1 it was OK to create a large virtual drive here.  "I also remember that the library is the distinction between a target name starting by".
"compared to the other with a drive letter.  "Is there something I can do to make the v1.2 to accept the"
    .pdvfs' form of file name?

I see a sensitive case named streams, acl persistent search for support as defining NTFS for this audit. Can you confirm if you have these?

    Thank you

  • How to create a disc of eagerZeroedThick with Powershell

    Hi all

I would like to create a disc of eagerZeroedThick with power (this is necessary for shared MSCS cluster disks) with powershell...

Looks like it's not available under the VIPowershell cmdlet

I have the following code... but it breaks down during the CreateVirtualDisk. Please can you help me?

Write-Host "recover: Instance of the Service...". »

    $svcRef = new-object VMWare.Vim.ManagedObjectReference

    $svcRef.Type = 'ServiceInstance.

    $svcRef.Value = 'ServiceInstance.

    $serviceInstance = get-views $svcRef

    #

    Write-Host "recover: virtual disk manager".

    $vdm = get-view $serviceInstance.Content.VirtualDiskManager

    #

Write-Host "get back: new virtual HARD drive Spec.

    $vHddSpec = new-Object VMWare.Vim.FileBackedVirtualDiskSpec

    $vHddSpec.CapaciptyKB = 102400

$vHddSpec.DiskType = "eagerZeroedThick" # required for the Cluster shared disk

$vHddSpec.AdapterType = 'free' # required for the Cluster shared disk

    #

    Write-Host 'create cluster disk '.

    $FilePath = "[HQESXU0021_Local] Test1.vmdk.

    $ds = get-data store HQESXU0021_Local

    $vdm. CreateVirtualDisk ($FilePath, $ds, $vHddSpec)

Note1: the thing when you want to use the VirtualDiskManager methods you must connect to the ESX Server not the VC!

Note 2: the disk name must be a valid data store path.

This means that you must use the following notation:-]

Note that there is a space between the closing brackets and the name of the folder for eb.

    [Example: \[myds\] vm1/vm1 - quorum.vmdk

Note3: when you connect to the ESX Server there is only 1 data center with the default name "ha-datacenter".

Note4: the CreateVirtualDisk method connect the new drive to any virtual machine.

The script would then become something like that

    Connect-VIServer -Server -User -Password

    Write-Host "Retreive: Service Instance..."
    $serviceInstance = get-view ServiceInstance
    #
    Write-Host "Retrieve: Virtual Disk Manager"
    $vdm = Get-View $serviceInstance.Content.VirtualDiskManager
    #
Write-Host "Retrieve: New virtual HDD Spec"
    $vHddSpec = new-Object VMWare.Vim.FileBackedVirtualDiskSpec
    $vHddSpec.CapacityKB = 102400
$vHddSpec.DiskType = "eagerZeroedThick" # mandatory for Shared Cluster disk
$vHddSpec.AdapterType = "lsiLogic" # mandatory for Shared Cluster disk
    #
    Write-Host "Create cluster disk"
    $FilePath ="[myds] Cluster/cluster-quorum.vmdk"
    $dc = Get-datacenter "ha-datacenter" | Get-View

    $vdm.CreateVirtualDisk($FilePath, $dc.moref, $vHddSpec)

  • Satellite A300-211 - can I use creator of recovery disk to create other discs?

    My laptop is Satellite A300-211

My question is can I use the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator program to burn CDs and DVDs next to the Windows image?

    Hi mate,

The Toshiba recovery disc creator can create the Toshiba Recovery disk and that s all!

If you want to burn the other CD or DVD, you can use other software such as Nero or CD Burner XP. The last one is a free and really nice. It has many functions and is very low. Check it!

The problem is that you used is not compatible DVD disc.
Test different DVD. I use TDK DVD-R and I think it's very good brand.
