Create the copy of database no ASM to ASM database to different server

I am looking for the way the more faster/easier create a copy of a large database (230 GB).
The situation is the following:

The source database is on an instance not Oracle ASM (on the machine).

I would like to create a copy of this database and place it on computer B.

Machine B has an ASM instance on this and I would like to as the database to use the
Groups of ASM disks that are configured on this computer.

I've seen examples of using "rman duplicate" to create a copy of a database
but they do not seem to take into account cases where the source database is
ASM no and the destination database uses ASM.

Database for the source and destination versions are 10.2.0.1.0.

I would appreciate any advice on how to achieve this.

Thank you very much.

    Probably wouldn't be ideal, but it would depend on the intent underlying the system under development. Using the RDBMS, with tables of related data, the layout and design of the right table (entity) is crucial.

    After relations are compries, and its checked the layout of schema (the database user (s), table) welcomes the objective underlying the system, index, table creation/loading, functions or procedures, tests, etc the boring tasks begin - and that's on the place where the fun part ceases ;)

  • Create the link of database error

    Hi all

    I am trying to create a database link (developer both SQL and Sql * more) and I get the error ORA-00933: SQL not correctly completed command.

    Here is the statement:

    CREATE DATABASE LINK msrtp CONNECT TO msrtp_user IDENTIFIED BY 62ROLDS USING msrtp;

    Yes, the global database name is msrtp and I created links db without any problem.

    The problem, it's because the password begins with a number. I have no control on the password and can not change. I tried enclosing in single and double quotes, but it does not work. Is there one way around this other than to change the password?

    Oracle 10g

    Thank you.

    Try to put the password in quotation marks. I created a link using quotes around the password and I was able to choose to use it. With 11g and passwords case-sensitive using double quotes may be necessary at least for the mixed case passwords.

  • Failed to create the startup database

    Hi all

    I have tried my due diligence research on this forum, install the documentation and the web before posting, but with no luck.

    I have two virtual machines with VMWare Workstation 6.5. Both servers are Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition 32-bit. One is a domain controller and the other is an application server. I am able to install Oracle 10 G R2 Enterprise Edition based on the application server, but when it gets to the part to create the Starter it database fails with error TNS-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified. All of the default options have been used during the installation.

    After my research, I checked tsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files. Here is the output of the two files...

    tsnames.ora-

    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = PLSExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
    )
    )

    SQLNET.ora-

    SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)

    NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)

    All the troubleshooting tips that I find seem to assume that a database has already been created. How can I solve when there is still no database? In addition, it looks like the tsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files are by default and I don't think they will have to be changed.

    Another recommendation was to make sure that you can test your host using the host name and the nomhote.nomdomaine. I am able to do both successfully.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't know what to do next. Thank you.

    N °

    You create a database while on the computer that will host the database. You set the ORACLE_HOME advance and may disconnected the ORACLE_SID, or assign the proposed SID.

    And then you go around Networking Oracle using the ' SQLPLUS / as sysdba ", rather than"sqlplus /@db-alias AS SYSDBA", if you use ypur db - create own script.

    If you use DBCA to create the database, then you have another question. Note that the @ is the separator between the password and db-alias. If you happen to use the very secure password for SYS (on the screen of the DBCA passwords) which includes the @, DBCA will fail with a 12154 because think there a network alias and it passes the password-part Oracle Networking, which, in turn, said 'no '.

    Published by: Hans Forbrich, January 19, 2010 20:18

    An idea - if you use DBCA, try to generate the create script (an option of DBCA) but DO NOT create the database. Then after this script if it is not obvious what is the error.

  • Backup impossible error 0 x 81000019. Cannot create the shadow...

    Details: shadow enough storage to create the copy storage file or other shadow copy data. "Error code: 0 x 81000019

    I know that it says that there is not enough space, but it's not likely. This is a fairly new computer, less than a month, and the hard drive I backup a lot of storage space left (800 + Gb).

    When you save files on a computer Windows 7 may appear error 0 x 81000019 with an error message similar to the following:

    "A snapshot could not be created. Please check the event logs "VSS" and "SPP" application for more information. Details: shadow enough storage to create the copy storage file or other shadow copy data. »

    This error can occur as a result of having too many language packs for Windows installed on your computer.

    The cause is that the backup process involves the system writer who reports files in applications, installed on the machine. Where a large number of language packs installed, reported by this writer metadata file becomes huge in size and does not fit the size of 100 MB. This causes the backup to fail since there is not enough space for the creation of shadow copies. This isn't something that you can check to validate because this metadata file is created during the backup and deleted at the end.

    To resolve this issue, uninstall all unused language packs that are currently installed on your computer. You can do this by clicking Start and then typing Lpksetup.exe in the search box and then click Lpksetup.exe in the list of programs. Once the Language Pack installation starts, click on uninstall display languages. Uninstall the languages that you don't use and then restart your computer, restart the backup.

    A number of things.

    (1) If you're going to go to a different version of oracle, then duplicate only is not supported.

    (2) assuming that the target and the auxiliary of the versions of database is the same, you don't need all your configure auxname, set the datafile newname and switch controls.
