  • FlashHelp skins with no animation?

    Hello

    My company uses FlashHelp to produce a manual in our product line. FlashHelp work because it is fully cross-platform, unlike WebHelp (which breaks in Safari). Unfortunately all of the skins included in FlashHelp have superfluous animations that require the user to wait for their content. For example, if you click on a book that contains a lot of topics, you must wait while FlashHelp displays slowly all. It should display all the topics * immediately *. Also, most of the pelts have unnecessarily long loads (while the skin goes in the space of about 5 seconds - it should make it as fast as possible) and annoying animations when you click on a topic.

    My question is this: is there a FlashHelp skins that not have animations (or 1 second animations), but instead are more similar to WebHelp? If this is not the case, can I customize existing skins for not having all the animations? I checked the FlashHelp SDK directory and it included the fla files for buttons and toolbars, but I didn't see any chronology of video clips. Is it possible to manually delete these animations? I hope, because many of the skins look pretty nice - they just force users to watch movies, that they do not want to see.

    I doubt that Flash skins are entirely without animations animation being the main point of Flash. You can edit the .fla files yourself if you have Flash. I did it with our skin because one of our clients don't like the help system to be flashy (pardon the pun), but I still like using FlashHelp, because I can customize it, and it is cross-platform. Instead of using the SDK, however, I usually generate the output first using skin from the gallery that I want to go, such as the slate and then change the .fla files in the. SkinSubFolder! Directory in my file of the project.

    Here's a specific example. skin_textNode.SWF makes the text like the blade of TOC entries in the right for the display and back out when hidden. I got rid of it by following these steps:

    1. open skin_textNode.fla in Flash and double-click the 'Label' object on the stage to get the timing.
    2 Select the object again and click on the first keyframe in the timeline panel. Property inspector gives me the exact coordinates of the location of the object (X: Y: - 0.8, 0.2).
    3. click on the next keyframe, click once on the object and enter the same coordinates.
    4. make on all the keyframes where the Label object is in a different location in the first keyframe.

    After doing this, when I export the movie and see in help, the elements in the table of contents just down from the book containing instead of sliding back, reducing the load on the time a little.

    If you get rid of some unnecessary animations in the toolbar buttons and so forth, I think this reduces load time a little more down. I just opened one of my systems, and it takes 3 seconds from when I click on 'Help' in the application. (Some of this, I think, is the scripts have run). Just the basics of Flash you need to twist the skin and get rid of some of the 'flashy '.

    I hope this helps!

  • Create a CSS skin pour my menu accordion?

    Hi all

    After two weeks of pulling of hair on the basics of html, my web site is starting to look like some chopse, part to... THE MENU.

    I spent a few sleepless nights to code in html, to achieve the result that is but now I am stuck with USH CSS.

    I understand the principle, but in the app, I can't!

    Brief in the idea, I would like to a menu accordion of 1280px wide, height 30px, preferably transparent or at worst gray of my image of header (the best would have been to put this ON my image of header, but not asking too much). I found a font that I like but I can't spend my HTML vertical, to a nice menu horizontal, fine and delicate.

    Here is my html code (I am open to any criticism).

    If anyone can retire this thorn of the feet, perfect for this would absolutely be.

    Thank you all in advance pour your valuable help.

  • Added skin Gallery - robohelp7

    I can't choose my skin custom... that's what I did:

    Created new skin

    Choose 'create a custom WebHelp skin '.

    Edition of skin and baptized "QBSkin_Green".

    Right click on skin after it poped upward in the Pod of editing project and select "add to Gallery".

    FlashHelp to generate a Flash file that is my main layout

    Wanted to select my skin custom from the drop-down list of the skin or entering the Gallery

    Sorry Suzy. I'm a newbie to flashhelp having never used. I have misled you. You can not change flashhelp skins in HR, but if you can change it on the outside. Click here for an article on how to do this. Remember that you don't have to have a certain knowledge of XML.

  • Using Skins Flash - questions?

    Just improved RoboInfo 5 to RoboHelp 7 (long)

    I am plans to use a skin in Flash, but I'm just curious to know if there are problems in doing this.

    Is it possible to add a new menu button if I use a Flash skin (I have experience in the use of Flash, but don't think that it is possible to change the source code so I could create a new menu button as I did previously with html).

    Is using a skin Flash slow performance at all? I use a Flash skin just to get some cool animations so I know that this slowdown in application and affects the user experience.

    With the help of a Flash skin that I should be aware any other question?

    Hi hughbetcha

    There is no editor of FlashHelp skins there is in WebHelp. So add a button is normally right out, unless you have some Flash skills. But you said that you don't actually have Flash skills. So, you will be interested in the Skins Development Kit. Don't worry, this isn't a separate thing, you need to buy. It's really a collection of documents and source files to use. You should find it at the following location:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 7\FlashHelp SDK

  • How scalable skin?

    Is it possible to make scalable UI skin? For example, I need a button, the size of which depends on its label of the skin.

    Thank you

    Hey,.

    If you want to create a scalable skin - you can do using the QNX components and then go ahead and create a UISkin for him. If done you will be able to resize the button right anyway you want and it do not bend or deform. I created an approach counting at the time where 0.9.4 shone - it may or may not always work but should give u a good idea on how to address the issue. Here is the link:

  • SectionList header skin

    Hello dear developers.

    I can find a way how to apply skin header personalized to a SectionList. I try many ways: UISkin, SectionHeaderRenderer, and CellRenderer whithouy success.

    Can anyone provide a small working example please? I would be very appreciated!

    Hello

    I think you must have been close. Most likely to lack one important line of code to assign an attribute «isHeader» I have hlited in red. Parm1 and Parm2 and just for an example, showing that you can pass the whatver you want in the skin.

    I quickly mocked something for you. There are probably many ways real set up, but I used something like that and it works

    1. somewhere, you define your skin header:

    aList.setHeaderSkin (HeaderRenderer);

    2. create the converter class

    SerializableAttribute public class its extends CellRenderer
    {
    private var _SkinableCompPright = new SkinableComp();
    public void HeaderRenderer()
    {
    __isHeader = true;
    Super();
    }
    override public function set data($Object___bject):void
    {
    _SkinableComp.setSkin (new HeaderListSkin ($Object, parm1, parm2));
    _SkinableComp.drawNow ();
    _SkinableComp.skin.State = "up";
    addChild (_SkinableComp);
    }
    }

    3. create the real skin

    SerializableAttribute public class HeaderListSkin extends UISkin
    {
    protected var upSkinPright;
    protected var seSkinPright;

    public void HeaderListSkin ($Object, parm1, parm2)
    Super();
    }
    override protected function initializeStates (): void
    {

    upSkin = new Sprite();
    seSkin = new Sprite();

    setSkinState (SkinStates.UP, upSkin);
    setSkinState (SkinStates.SELECTED, seSkin);
    }
    override protected function draw (): void
    {
    fillUpSkin();
    fillSeSkin();
    }

    private function fillUpSkin (): void
    {

    }
    private function fillSeSkin (): void
    {
    }

    }

    I hope this helps!

  • ADF Custom without extending skin

    Hi all

    JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0

    We have a chart & UX designer looking at our ADF applications.

    He wondered if it is possible to create a new skin of the ADF, but not based on any existing skin.

    He is wasting a lot of time to the substitution of existing parameters, it uses simple as skin < extends > for now.

    Remove extends it tag, folds on the default skin (= Simple), adding an empty < extends / > tag, also falls to the default.

    How can we create a skin that starts from scratch?

    THX.

    Filip Huysmans

    Hello

    the absolute basics that you always - use as you acknowledged - is simple skin. We cannot change what is coded in setting Apache MyFaces Trinidad, which is the basis of ADF Faces. If you can not change anything

  • Save a skin to be reused in another project

    When I save an appearance in a project, it always appears in the list of appearances, as well as those that come with Captivate. However, when I create another project or open a previously created project, recorded skin is not in the list. How to import a custom look of one project to another?

    You must ensure that your themes files is saved in the same location where all the other Captivate themes are.

    With Cp7, this location is

    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Layouts\7_0\en_US

  • Problems with the skin appear and publish options on FrameMaker 12

    Hello

    Customize the output using web FrameMaker is problematic.

    1. This is the first number - FrameMaker online help says the following:

    «You can also import WebHelp or compressed WebHelp skins defined in the files .skn or .zkn, respectively.» "To import a skin, click on import and select the .skn or .zkn file in the file system."   (see Adobe FrameMaker 12 * customization of specific output settings)

    However, when you import a skin (publication settings > custom > outings > navigation > selection of the skin > import), the import option allows only a type.skn file and not the tablet *.zkn.

    2. second question - the custom skin is not correctly unhooked in the Webhelp output.

    To be more precise, the required graphic elements were not copied on skin custom. The only way round, it comes to manually copy on the graph of the skin of the files in the output folder, and then refresh the help output. Graphics appear, but unfortunately still the skin does not display 100% correctly.

    3. third question. To create the custom skin, I had to create a new RoboHelp project, and then create a new skin among the galleries of available skin. Preview and generate the RoboHelp project displays correctly the skin. Unfortunately, when using FrameMaker, the skin does not display correctly.

    4th issue - inaccurate information in help online about the ISF import options.

    Online help FM says the following:

    Important: When you import a file from the ISF, RoboHelp parameters included in the file replace the corresponding settings of FrameMaker m files.

    To import a file of the ISF:

    1. In the dialog box publish, click the settings button and choose import file ISF.
    2. In the select an ISF file dialog box, select the settings file.

    Where is this option? There is no option to import ISF on my version of FrameMaker? !!!

    Thank you

    Thank you Jeff,.

    How can I download and install patches 12 FrameMaker?

  • How to custom skin version (SVN), independent skin Editor?

    Hello

    I use Jdev 11.1.1.6 to my application development.

    I created a custom skin (extension existing fusionFx) using Oracle ADF Stand alone skin Editor. I have deployed the skin at the ADF jar file and used in my project and works very well.
    Now, how can I put this skin svn? I couldn't find extension versioning svn for autonomous skin Editor. Is it supported?

    My 11.1.1.6 Jdev has extn installed svn but I can't open this project of skin it as it tries to migrate.
    What are my options? I have to install Jdev 11 GR 2 for this?

    Thank you
    JAI

    I do not have the skin editor stand alone installed, so I can not check the option svn...
    Make a copy of the project, and then open it in 11.1.1.6 and let jdev trying to migrate it. Then close jdev and open the project in the skin Editor. If it still works well, then the migration is not corrupt the project and you can use 11.1.1.6 to check it into svn.

    also use any other svn tool to check your project in svn. However, jdev will not recognize that the project, it is under the control of svn.

  • FlashHelp IIS 5 X

    I created a FlashHelp project in RoboHelp X 5 and I can build and preview it without problems on my local machine, but when I put it on my Web server (Windows 2 k 3, IIS 6 the html only topic) on the right side rises. None of the flash navigation is visible.

    I regularly put Captivate movies on this same server without any problems - so I don't think that there is a problem with SWF.
