Creating applications for iPhone and Android

Hi guys

I make my way through:

Professional Mobile Flash development: Creation of Android and iPhone Applications - by Richard Wagner

I decided to make one app for iPhone and Android in Flash Pro

I understand that it is a different game for each platform, but I was wondering if anyone here lived in app making use of Flash has any advice to develop for two platforms with minimal changes to the code - it means not having to change your main base code too and Moreover, what you find you should not change between platforms?

I am particularly interested in catering for different size screens. Ideally, I'd like the app to stretch to fit the screen for example great iPhone/iPad/Android etc, but keep its proportions. But I noticed in the demo applications in the book, you stipulate the window for example;

private const VIEWPORT_WIDTH:int = 320;

private const VIEWPORT_HEIGHT:int = 480;

So if you are stating the size of the window, how release you an app on the Apple market that will satisfy both iPhones and iPads?

Thank you for your time and sharing your experience.

I have experianced the situation, I searched a lot to find the solution.

Just use stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.ShowAll.

SWF step will be in Center and scaling proportion regardless of the size of the screen, and use the additional area beyond your swf width and only for the width it is called area of security that will be used in the screens.

We did it and no problem at all for any kind of both Iphone and Android device.

  • Can I use Air or Flex for iPhone and Android application development

Hi guys, what is the main difference between the 2 and Air or Flex did everything to Xcode for iPhone/iPad development

I hear that Flex has Android and the SDK for the iPhone, if that's the case why learn Xcode?

    Thank you

You can certainly create mobile applications using Flex and FlashBuilder and no need to Xcode.  You also have the option of using PhoneGap.  Both Flex and PhoneGap provide layers of abstraction to write a single application that targets multiple devices.  These abstraction layers have some overhead and some people simply have to write native applications.

  • Ability of DPS App for Iphone and Android?

Hello. I know this question may have been asked in a number of different forms. But it's been a while and I hope that the likes of Bob Levine or Bob Bringhurst may be a cool idea for us all DPS supporters.

My company is a Subscriber professional edition of DPS, and we are also subscribers creative cloud. We would like to produce simple editing publications (Apps, essentially) for Android and Iphone phones. Is there a chance that it will become a feature of deployment for DPS?

    Thank you guys!

Supported single-folio applications on the iPhone is on the DPS roadmap. I don't know about Android, but I don't think that single-folio support for Android tablets is a priority at the moment.

  • Issue of padding for iPhone and Android devices

I designed a website in Adobe Muse. When I discovered the site on my iPhone or an Android device, the issue I'm having is the edges of the site on the left side is cut off. I have a padding on page 15 to the left and right properties. I need to know how I can solve this problem.

Mobile devices to zoom out to view the contents of a web page. If there is content outside the right of the page "" Muse, then a mobile browser will zoom out 'too far' and thus see the area to the right of your page.

In Muse use select all (with all the layers/elements unlocked) to find the items that protrude beyond the right edge of the page or master pages, applied to the page.

    Kind regards

  • development iPhone and android with as3, where should I start?

    Right, I built a game in as3.

Now, I want to put on the market and apple android app store.

I have box all my graphics dynamically through classes.

I need to know at what stage of the size that I need. I currently have 550 by 400.

How can I do it only in the landscape, so the step size landscape.

What should I use for normal event listeners. What would be "addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, click)" for iphone and android.

What other important things I should know?

Use google to find the train for the sizes of your target platforms.

Check the settings in publication for orientation.

MouseDown events work well on touch devices.

There are many things you need to know.  Here is a starting point, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices.html

  • Use different accounts of DPS for iPad and Android versions of the same application?

    Hello

When to create a version of a DPS iPad app Android the account used to create the content (the 'title ID' in the DPS application Builder) are the same for both versions, or different? In the content viewer I know that iPad content will appear the same on Android, so I think that the answer is probably no, but I failed to find it mentioned in the Adobe documentation.

    Thank you

    Toby

It depends, but generally the answer is that you want to use a different account for iOS and Android. Not all features are supported in iOS viewer supported in Android Viewer. For example, if you use panoramas and specific views web iOS in your articles, you'll want to be able to use a different content for viewers of Android. Search for "dps supported features" for a comparative table.

I use different Application accounts for my applications. I use the feature of sharing/copy to transfer the folios of the account iOS on behalf of Android (or Windows). Then I remove the few items that don't work well in the viewer and replace them with items generated from the different source files. Which works well and does not require much additional effort.

If you want to reduce the amount of black strips the viewer of Android, you might want to use different accounts and use, for example, 1280 x 800 sheets instead of 1024 x 768.

  • video format for viewing on the iphone and android devices?

    Hello

What is the best format to export a video so that you can see on iphone and android devices? Adobe supports this or is there another program should I buy? any help or ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Denise

H.264 works for iOS devices and Android devices. Here is a page with a list of the formats and specifications for Android:

    http://developer.Android.com/Guide/Appendix/media-formats.html

If you choose H.264 from the format of Adobe Media Encoder, you can then choose a bunch of predefined encoding settings for specific devices, including iOS devices.

  • Creating apps for iPhone by PhoneGap using animate CC Possible?

    Hello

What is Adobe animate CC appropriate to create apps for iPhone by PhoneGap.  There are some tutorials to facilitate dashboard but not for Flash Pro CC or CC animate.

    Thank you.

PhoneGap acts as a wrapper app for web content. With Animate, you can do the same thing by using a StageWebView, so in a sense PhoneGap and Animate are competitors.

But, if you had another reason to use PhoneGap, I guess that web content can include HTML5 Canvas files you did using Animate.

Normally when you make mobile applications in Animate you would in an AIR, using ActionScript 3 application.

  • Tips on improving the graphics for the app for iPhone and iPad

I'm creating an application for iPad and iPhone 4 and it looks terrible on the iPhone 4.

I created the Flash file in Flash IDE with Movie CS5.5 size 1024 x 768 and I use the AIR according to the parameters of IOS:

    Rendering: CPU

    Device: iPhone and iPad

    Resolution: high

All of my graphics are vector, so I assumed that it would be the crisp air on both devices. It is not as perfect as you are looking for on the iPad as it appears on my PC screen, but I can live with that. However, I can't live with the appearance of the iPhone 4.

So I'm looking for advice on how to improve the appearance of the iPhone 4.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to use the 2 sets of graphs, one for each device. Please correct me if this is wrong and she would offer me a solution.

Do all the graphics in PNG would be a solution?

BTW I use AIR 3.2 SDK if that has to do any and my graphics are static.

    Thanks in advance.

Nice vectors will look depends on the setting of stage.quality. Try it on medium or high instead of low. In addition, CPU or direct is likely to give more beautiful than GPU vectors only.

Please help., Hello, I want to DPS magazin for IOS and Android with a lot of text notes. There are about 200 notes per article. The idea is to make windows pop-up as EPUB 3.0. Help, please.

Remember that only you can create an iPad app using your simple editing solution (which is included in your subscription CC). So you need a Pro or business of DPS version to be able to create a Android version.

You can create pop-ups in InDesign using slide show options and a multi-state object. But it's all manual work, then you're going to spend a lot of time on this point, also depending on the layout of your design.
