YOU WANT TO GO TO THE SERVICE GUARANTEE, BUT LOST MY PACKAGE... HOW CAN I GET MY SECURITY STANDARD NUMBER? IT IS STORED SOMEWHERE ON THE SITE?

Hi, Antonia

For me, this looks like a malfunction of the graphics card. However, I don t think you can solve this problem by yourself. In this case, you must contact the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country. He can start some diagnostic tests to find the fault.
Please visit this site, you will find ASP:

  • Satellite P100 - the screen goes black

    Hello

I have a Satellite P100 and randomly, the screen goes black but the system continues to operate. I downloaded the latest drivers from toshiba, all power options the maximum support, run ccleaner and driver Sweeper to remove the old entries driver, re-installed the login screen of the mobo and nothing seems to work.

The screen goes black sometimes when using windows but STILL turns black as soon as the ramps of gpu for example of playing a video or comparative analysis of the graphics card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

GPU: Nvidia Quadro nvs 510 m
    Chipset: Intel i945PM
    HARD drive: Fujitsu 148GB

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 operating system

    Hey,.

    > ALWAYS goes black as soon as the ramps of gpu for example of playing a video or comparative analysis of the graphics card.
This means that the graphics card is defective

Theoretically, it could be an overheating problem too. Higher time can also cause a black screen. You should try everything that is possible to clean your laptop using the jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans.

If it doesn t help it seems to be a hardware malfunction but seriously a point would be interesting: have you noticed the same thing with preinstalled OS (Vista) Toshiba?

  • Satellite 210CS - the screen stays black (even to an external monitor)

Dear Toshiba Forum members and guests.

Several months ago, I found an old laptop. When I turn it on, the screen remains black. And when I connect an external monitor to the laptop via the VGA input, two screens are black. I used a flashlight, pulled on the LCD screen of the laptop, but I don't see all the details on the screen.

I thought it was because of the empty RAM slots. This week, I bought a RAM-unit and installed.
I tried to start the laptop again, but nothing on the two screens (even though I used a flashlight).
I searched the Internet for certain solutions, but nothing works. I also tried updating the BIOS, found on the Web from Toshiba site.

    Some information on the laptop:
    Toshiba Satellite 210CS/1.3
    PA1230E
    48 MB RAM
    1.3 GB HARD DRIVE

    Date of manufacture: 4 ^ th ^ October 1997

If you want more information or you would like more information, please put a comment in this thread.

I hope someone can help me solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

I think there must be some serious hardware problem.
I don't think that someone will be able to tell what part exactly failures because it could be any inner part.
You buy the RAMs again. Well, in this case, we can exclude RAM problem, but there is probably a motherboard, CPU or a graphics card problem.

From my point of view of the few you don't have many options: perhaps you could found some other good treatments Satellite 210CS somewhere in the internet since it is not very easy to get parts for this oldie

  • Satellite U920T - the screen goes black when you drag the keyboard

This morning, I turned on my U920T-10 days but the screen remained black.

At first, I thought the screen was broken, but in mode 'Tablet', the screen became. Now when I slide the keyboard the screen goes black again.

How can this problem be solved?

    Hello

For me, it looks like a bad connection somewhere between the screen and the motherboard.
This could be possible reason for failure to display while sliding in and out.

I guess this can be resolved easily and I think that it is a job for a technician (authorized service provider). I recommend you contact the service technician in your country to get the laptop fixed. I hope that the warranty is still valid in order to repair for free.

I hope that this can be corrected. I keep fingers crossed.

  • Satellite L405D-11V - freezes and the screen goes black when you watch the video

OK, so I have the Toshiba Satellite L405D-11V, I had a breakdown, basically, the computer freezes at any time and the screen would go black, with the fan and lights still ongoing, this could be at the start, or a few hours using the laptop, so I decided to ring Toshiba technology support and they arranged for my laptop to collect and be expelled for repairs.

I was able to track repairs online via the tracking service and was able to see what they were doing to my laptop, he said that they have ordered a part, it was underway and the repairs are completed.

However, I got the laptop back today, I turn it on, all right, I start using the cell phone that everything is fine, so I decide to watch a video on youtube, and it freezes again, so I turned off now pressed the power button, hoping he wasn't that a large, I turn back to and load the video once again it freezes and the screen goes black again, after that whenever I am watching a video or a game, it causes the computer to crash and freeze as before the repairs. So there is always a mistake, but I'm not sure what to do

Its still under warranty, I bought the laptop from the Comet, but I really don't want to send the laptop for repairs again and find it comes back with the same fault, is it interesting sending distributed, maybe see if the comet will replace the laptop as its still less than a year to buy the laptop, or it'll just be useful to save all the hassle and buy a new laptop? If this fault happened to someone else, I could use you some help, and if someone could shed some light regarding what could be bad?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

You changed something on the configuration after you got your notebook back from repair? You update a driver, or something else?
What operating system you use on your L405D satellite?

To be honest it is really hard to say why it happens because technicians test to check if your laptop is running correctly.

In my opinion you should try to update the display driver. Maybe it's the origin of the problem of s
If this isn't the case, I recommend installing Windows from Toshiba Recovery disk to restore to factory settings. These parameters are pre-tested by Toshiba and should work.

If you still have the problem, you must contact the technicians again. I mean you could track the online repair and according to your assignment, everything worked well during repair, so in my opinion he should t be a problem to contact guys exactly.
Explain your very detailed problem. I think that everything can be clarified then. :)

  • After you enable SLI on the Satellite x 200 mode the screen goes black

    Hi all

my name is Alessio and I encounter the following problem with my Satellite x 200-24e with Vista home 32-bit:

Recently, I updated the operating system and yesterday I updated the VGA driver with the latest version available on the web site of Toshiba (display-20080904102618), everything worked fine but when I activated mode SLI the screen went black.

I restarted the laptop and I tried to boot Vista on a regular basis, but I still got black screen.
Then I started Vista in safe mode and reload the VGA drivers to set the SLI mode since the safe mode did not identify the model VGA.
Can anyone help me solve this problem and get the SLI mode working again (I was able to set the SLI mode before update the VGA driver)?

    Thank you

    This wonderful s information.
It of strange that the screen was dark after the SLI has been activated but it looks like it's working now.

    Thanks for your comments

  • Satellite P100-473 - suddenly the screen turns black

    Hello

Since a few days, I have a problem with my Satellite P100-473 (with Vista Home installed recently + teamspeak only) after you have installed the latest version of Nero (maybe a detail)
and do not know how, all of a sudden the screen went black.
I so reboot and still black but the laptop properly started, the screen is activated (light up/down).
I'm trying not to switch the display on an external monitor (VGA and DVI) no signal.
I remove the battery for a few minutes.

After a lot of irritation I gave it a week, I am again yesterday and after two tests display return with an error (such as a debug message), I forgot to note due to the excitement... ten minutes later same problem again:'(.)
Yesterday before restarting the screen, I wait to start completely > type my password > sound > wait a minute > and type ESC / enter key at random.

Can you please help me to find the source of this problem and maybe the solution to solve?

Thank you very much for your future assistance, I hope you understand my pathetic English
    Best regards

    Hello

Wait. You said you use external LCD and an external LCD related to this laptop.
Do you use an external monitor Samsung, and maybe have you installed MagicTune software on your laptop?
    Please check this box.

As far as I know software Samsung MagicTune can permanently disable the integrated computer Toshiba LCD display screen. Why?
Because the MagicTune software is designed for use with desktop computers that do not have a built-in LCD screen.
If your integrated LCD display has been disabled by the MagicTune software, you will need to make an arrangement for repair with a Toshiba authorized Service partner.

But I hope that you have not installed this software.

  • Satellite L10-333: screen stays black, until I hit the edge of the screen

I have a Satellite L10-333, which is about 3 years old, it has suddenly started having screen problems.
It started with a white screen instead of the normal and a black line all downstairs in the middle.

Now when I turn on the pc, the screen remains black and dead until I hit the edge of the screen and when the screen comes alive, I must hold and press part of the cover, so that the display stays on...

    Anyone know what's the problem?
I thought it might be a loose wire or connection.
Someone else has or had this problem?

    Thanks for your help...

I agree with you. It must be a contact problem. In my opinion, it is not important if anyone else has this problem too and you have to find the solution as soon as possible.
The laptop must be disassembled and check the connection of the screen. Now the question is what to do. Can you check it alone or you need professional help?

  • Satellite C660-1J2 - the screen goes black for a second

    Hey everybody.

I recently changed my HARD drive and did a reinstall fresh, as previous was damaged. What is happening now is that whenever I have connect or disconnect the cable the screen goes black for a second. There is no real consequence of this, I'd rather just if there was an option to make it happen.

Then, give a shout someone if you know how to deal with this.

    Hello

    > I have recently changed my HARD drive and did a reinstall of fees
You have installed Windows from Toshiba normal Microsoft Windows disk or recovery disk?

To me it sounds like that, you forgot to install the display driver. Also check the Manager of devices for the yellow exclamation points or unknown devices.
Make sure that correct display driver is installed. You can download the latest version of Toshiba's official website:

  • Satellite a200-1sv screen remains black at startup in Vista

    Hello

We have a problem with Toshiba Satellite A200-1sv my girlfriend: when we started, most of the time, the screen remains black, while the computer starts: after awhile, we can hear the sound of windows (vista).

In addition, if connect us another screen of the computer, it displays the scheduled start screen. In order to use the computer, it must launch a few times... The support guy where we bought the computer told us "the computer is not compatible with Vista, we cannot do something".

    Can we do something?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ju

I have to smile to read this message
    Mainly, this statement is funny;
    > The support guys where we bought the computer told us "the computer is not compatible with Vista, we can't do something."

I think that this laptop has been delivered with the Vista operating system. So why the guy said that the laptop is not compatible with Vista?  :| …. that's nonsense.

First the A200-1SV belongs to the PSAE6E series and it s fully Vista capable.
Secondly, like you say the external screen displays home Toshiba screen and so I guess that's just a matter of adjustment.
What you can do is to use the FN + F5 key combination to switch between display devices.

If it doesn't help to try to put the laptop back to the factory settings using the Toshiba Recovery CD!
In this case, the new OS, driver and tools will be installed and then everything should work fine.

    Good bye
