Creation of custom styles/skins

Hello!
I work as a web designer/graphic designer in a company in Stockholm, Sweden. We have recently started working with Flex and it worked out great. As I'm the only artist here, it's my job to create all the graphics, including the Flex skin.

So far I have been editing the skin existing (in Flash) and added new capital by duplicating current (such as for example the buttons). It seems to work perfectly, but I know one day I probably will have to create something more personal than that. In addition, it would be nice to get your hands on the workflow and not locked to editing existing content all the time.

I tried to find a guide that explains everything, but I can't find anything. The main thing that I can't get my head around is how you create these guides 'custom' to determine the way of assets globally. Gray, dotted guides.

So if anyone know of a good "getting started" tutorial, I'd be eternally grateful.
Thanks in advance!

Kind regards
Olof Brickarp

You are not alone. I get a lot of customers who have the same questions.

First of all, it depends on which tool you use on how to add the scale 9-slice. If you use Flash, from the properties of the symbol, check "Enable guides for 9-slice scaling.

Continuing with Flash, consider the timeline for the symbol, then import the Flex work in Flex Builder. Note the correlation between the States and parts of the skin. With a little time and effort, you create the button of dog barking without delay.

  • My style course custom portal - skin.css non-reflecting file in my portal webcenter application.

In my portal webcenter application, I have a model to my home page. The model has a "happy" = facetName I've included a header.jsff outside the facet of content for the header section.

I added my custom for the portal file - skin.css default style classes. Some of the custom style classes were used in the header.jsff file.

When I deploy my portal webcenter application and custom for the header style classes does not load (even after refreshing the page).

But if I go back to JDev and make a small change to the portal file - skin.css and save it, go back to the browser and refresh the page, then the style classes is loaded.

One has faced such question? Please let me know if any difficulty / possible workaround.

This seems odd. Rather than running, you can deploy the application on your integrated server wls and check once.

  • Custom ADF skin

    Hi all

I'm new to ADF. I do custom skin ADF. Any help will be useful.

One last thing, before I need to give the estimate? Someone please you suggest approx. How long it will take to create a custom CSS. I know it depends on the usecase. But let me know,

    How can I estimate this?

  • OBIEE 11 g ignoring custom styles after a space in implementing in the form

    Hello
All the world encountered this strange glitch?
I apply styles to our company new skin, and it's all working very well until I enter a piece of code like this:
    . QCPageColumnSectionSidebar {padding-bottom: 1px; width: 100%; border: 1px solid #000080; background-color: #dce4f9 ;}}

It seems that as soon as OBIEE detects the spaces in the CSS formatting, he escapes and ignores the rest. In this case, the border is applied, but the background color does not work. If I swap the places of the two classes, then the background color is applied and the border is not.
In addition, all of the styles defined after this style are ignored.

When I inspect element in Firebug, I see this behavior to come through on the side of the presentation. The CSS that follows the style with a space that is not appear.

The default defined styles have very similar styles and they seem to work; anyone has an idea why my custom styles are not?
    Thanks in advance,
    Krista

can you try to manually write the same code with spaces instead of paste in css file.

  • Creation of custom symbols - streets & trips

Our office uses streets & trips to create custom cards with a key/legend. We tried to create symbols customized (in this case, the card numbers) using a number of techniques in Photoshop and Illustrator. Streets & trips will accept only Bmp files. If you create the numbers in Photoshop, they are too pixelated and badly the streets & trips. But you can't save or export as a BMP in Illustrator. Thus, we created the numbers in Illustrator, save them as jpg files, then convert BMP files in Photoshop. Numbers look fine until what import us them in Streets & Trips. Then, they become "mottled" - with clear areas bit from the bottom in the numbers. It's too random. The flecks are in locations on each issue, even if it's the same background for each file. Someone at - it a good solution for the creation of custom symbols that will work in the streets & trips?

  • Custom player skins?

Hello, I'm working on creating a flash animation to be displayed on a Web page and I wonder if there are options out there to create a custom Player skin?

  • Custom styles and skins, 11g, does not apply for dashboard pages

    Hello

With the help of Rittman Mead blog, I could understand how I need to copy the files and expose it to the server.

I could change the name of 'product' that appears at the top LHS of the page on the log on screen successfully. But the only problem, the modified title appears only on the login screen and all the other screens is the original title 'Business Intelligence'

With how could I know, where exactly this title is chosen, and where I can make changes accordingly to see amended result.

PS: I changed "productmessages.xml" to reach my journal on customizing the page.

    Kind regards
    Jitendra

OK, one more thing. I had the same problem as you, but on the server. I made changes to the skin. They have been updated on our pc, but when I go to Analytics Server. I was using IE on the server and just downloaded Chrome. When I connect I see every chance that take place.
I recommend that you ask your users to download another browser or to uninstall, reinstall the browser they use. I know that's not comfortable, but I know it works. You can try one of them.

  • Need help/advice on the creation of custom character Style

    Hello comrades!

    I m doing a game using flash cs5 and HAVE 3.0.

I want to give the player the option to costumize his character.

    Something like this ( http://www.flashninjaclan.com/zzz2832_Anime_Character_Generator.php ).

After choosing his own style the player will save his character and he will use throughout the game.

I had planned use drag - move action: Player f.ex.the is drag air style and drop it off at the head of the character.

However, I n ' t´know how can I save the final result! I have not found a tutorial or document on this subject!

Could you give me some advice/links?

    Thanks in advance!

    See you soon,.

    Eduardo

    You have 3 options here.

I'll go from easy to hard:

    1. use a LocalSharedObject to record users decision like a flash, like this cookie the next time it runs your application the character will be always available

    or

    2. save the character under a beautiful string in a database that the user must connect when he starts the game.

    or

    3. use air instead of Flash, then you can write a file with the description of the character that it models to your site amenities AIR application directory

The first method is by far the easiest.

Regarding 'how to save the character', using a string representation.

1st digit could be what he chooses, 2nd tshirt, 3 shoes, 4th wepon etc.

For example, when he chooses the 4th head, the tshirt of the 7th, 9th place and the 3rd weapon, save "4793' in your local shared object chain and read it on the next time the user starts the application.

  • How can I delete a custom style of mouse?

Hi I have cam creating a custom mouse cursor.  I've downloaded several under properties.  I can use it, but I wanted to make a change and download it again.  I can't seem to get it replaced the first and I can't delete the old.  Any ideas?

Here is a picture of the area...

    custom mouse cursor.png

I think it will probably turn out to be even one of these cases as custom image buttons and custom text captions where the object is cached inside the project folder.

You have the same problem if you open a new file CPTX?  If this isn't the case, then it's a caching issue.

Usually, we suggest people to debug their creations for these objects using disposable project files and use only the final versions during the construction of their projects.  Adobe has provided an additional button in the properties to solve the problem with the buttons and captions, but it's not like they thought to do it here as well for the custom mouse cursors.

  • Number of list and bulleted list w / Custom Style sheet

    Hello
I am a new user to RoboHelp 7 and must say that I find useful but also painful to use. I'm trying to solve something that looks like a bug in RoboHelp 7, but before I give in and accept defeat, I wanted to check with the forum.

I of FrameMaker 8 and import the files to HR where I use them to create WebHelp projects.

    This is an accelerated procedure:
    1. I import my files with a stylesheet predefined matching styles of FM.

    2. I have also check the option convert to HTML list and the bullet and numbering styles the value defined by the user.
-After importing RH did the usual thing and creates a bunch of stylesheets in itself

    3. I select all files in the pod of the list of subjects and apply a new style sheet custom. This allows me to have a style sheet for all HTML files with the correct layout and formatting

    4. I have generate the output and HR uses the new style sheet reference
HTML shows files that the output is not the same as the HTML generated, shown in the mode of the editor HTML HR

-View Editor: < class li = 'style' >
    -Display: < li >

    6. If I make a change (for example, add a space) and save the HTML file and build the project again the HTML code is correct in the browser

It could be argued that it is not a big problem; However, with a large project that begins to look more like a nightmare ;)

Does anyone know of this problem and if so can it be solved?

    Kind regards
    Jon

    Thanks Milot,
I hope that my company will see your 'solution' as an argument to upgrade licenses FM and FM 9 and 8 HR HR. Would be so nice if Adobe would let us by licenses cheaper that we bought just FM 8 and RH 7 2 months ago. 7 HR isn't really worth the money spent to date in my mind.

Once again thank you for answering my questions.

    Kind regards

  • What makes a custom default skin

Hi, I wonder if there is a way to make an appearance to the new value by default when you create a project.

I tried to save my skin customized by default named skin, but that doesn't seem to work as always, new projects are created with the old skin.

    All suggestions are welcome!

    Gail

    Hi Gail

I think that one way you could do would be to set up a model. Then, when you save, use new projects out of the model.

The only thing on the models, is that we must be absolutely certain that you do not work with an existing project before creating or making a model. So if you have an existing project, click file > save as... and give this puppy a new name first!

    See you soon... Rick
