  I'm having the same problem with the TCS that PaulB1234 described in the General Discussion forum, except that I'm generating HTML output and I did only one book of FM in the project. When I click on "auto-create browse sequences of TOC", the list of sequences of exploration remains empty. Assistance of HR says to click "Yes" to the dialog box "to browse sequences", but no dialog box is displayed.

  Thank you! After doing a Force update, I was able to generate automatically the sequence to browse the table of contents.

  I'm not familiar with the sequences of travel as such. We are trying to replace a WWP default feature that allows the user to scroll through all the sections in order. The order to browse automatically created by HR provides similar functionality, but you can pass only through topics in a single chapter. There is a dropdown of the chapters so that you can select a different, but they are in alphabetical order, not sequential order. Therefore, it is difficult to go through aid 'page by page' somehow.

  Is it possible to put in place-to-end navigation? During this time I'll take a look at the available commands.

• Need help with the navigation of Captivate quiz

  Hi all

  I did a (very linear) e-Learning module. After every bit of learning, I put a quiz question option multiple choice to focus on learning. The problem I'm having, is that when I'm going through (response), the question, click back to return to the question (although grey - which is good), and then click back again (I have "allow back them' checked), I have the following problems: -.

  • By clicking on the "Continue" button on the front blade slide q, takes me to the slide after the question
  • Once the question has been answered, all buttons continue jump is no longer to the next slide, instead they just 'continue' - using the timeline.

  Is it possible to have the quiz items, touch them, good or bad responses etc on a normal slide instead of a question slide page. I don't mind if the user has to do again the question (if anything that this would be better) that I'm not making anything on the server of scorm.

  You can create your question slides, using the standard objects such as text captions, text entry boxes, buttons or click boxes, etc. slidelets.  If you use CP4 you can even use the possibility to insert system variables in text captions to show e.g. the score to the user. It will be more work, but you will have full control of these issues. Use of pools of questions is probably excluded in this case.

• Navigation between the SWFs in the output of the aggregator

  The CP4 aggregator is an excellent tool again, but I need some advice on customization. Because the aggregator generates an HTML and SWF that serve as the skin for the films Captivate it loads, on-board navigation in Captivate movies (i.e. "chaining" films using "Load project" or "load URL / file ') no longer works. "Load project" fails because there is no HTML file to launch, and "Load URL or file" throw the user off course and the target SWF in the parent window. That means the user depends on the table of contents to navigate between Captivate movies.
  
  I hope that somebody figures a way to control the SWF aggregator since in Captivate movies so navigation between Captivate movies can be achieved with a next button or other object.

  After that play with it some more, Steve is right... Captivate movies added to a project aggregator do default Garland. Specifically, what has worked for me puts the end action 'Stop' in the project preferences, the last slide on the the exit action to 'Go to the next slide' and the next button or click action box to "continue". Works great!

• Compliance SCORM/Export?

  I just had a customer request-

  "No matter what MP4 format must be produced with SCORM"

  
  

  I'm assuming that they just need a format that is compatible with their LMS (Learning Management System). I do not see really any export SCORM setting in Premiere Pro, so I would speculate that they want a specific codec or MP4 file definition. I'm just producing their videos, which don't include any interactivity or quiz.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  SCORM compliance is more for the quiz/reporting within the limits of an LMS (learning management system).  If they just need content to support the media that will be added/packaged in content creation program (i.e. captivate), then what they most likely you is a MP4 adapted in reading/feed from a Web-Server site.  However, you should ask them if they plan to package and re-purpose it internal using their LMS software.

• How to reapprove a request approved?

  My problem is that I've changed an approved purchase order, which requires the re-registration due to the tolerance of price, but the system has sent a message of error that the application related to ALSO requires re-registration. However the requisition cannot be opened because it is approved. It seems to be a vicious circle. What is the solution in this case? Thanks in advance... Szabolcs

  Maybe after action plan help you...

  (1) cancel the line of PO in which you this review.
  (2) returns the PR using automatic creation.
  Navigation path: Autocreate > requisition find corresponding in. > tools > request return

  (3) it will take your request to the State of RETURN.
  (4) open PR, make the necessary changes and create the PO again with add to the PO / IN. new option.

• How can you force a user to click all the buttons on a slide?

  I have a slide with a scenario and four option buttons, of which three are good options. I would like that the learner to click on the correct three buttons, which each give comments, before the continue"" button. I have scripted an advanced action to show that the key to continue only after all three keys user has clicked. For some reason any, when I saw the project continuous slide without interruption after I click on the first button. All the buttons are set to show a hidden legend and break after 2 seconds. How can I set up my calendar to (a) allow for the learner to decide which buttons to click and (b) a break long enough to allow him to make that decision? I am using Captivate 5.5, incidentally.

  I am sure that I am doing the equivalent of Captivate to forget to wear one, but I'm unfortunately stuck. Thanks for any help you can give me!

  Hi Krista,

  I think your buttons have the same point of suspension, and given that the sequence is not imposed which is logical. But when you click on a button, the normal behavior is that the playhead continues. Can you please post a screenshot of the timeline and your advanced action? Maybe you need to go back the playback head. I call this micro-navigation and blog about it:

  My project is a CS5.5 demo video that requires no user action. Each project slide contains many objects that appear one after another in the timeline panel.

  I activated the playback bar to allow the user to navigate through the project, if he wants, but the back/next buttons only jump from slide to slide.

  I would like to refine navigation by jumping from one object in each slide. One solution is to put a slide object.

  Is there another solution to avoid having too many slides in the project? For example, we can add brands of Showjumping in the timeline?

• CP4 - Pause a slide with several buttons and continue after clicking a specific button

  Hi all

  I know that a break has been discussed, with the idea that you can use a clickbox (tiny/transparent) to pause the slide in CP4.

  My problem is that I have a few buttons to show/hide a scenario/question in a slide that is suspended with a clickbox.  I would like a particular button to advance the slide (for example, the button 'Next').  Currently * any * button will UN-pause the slide even if all the buttons use advanced actions and are not defined for advnace slide to the click.

  Basically, I want to achieve this goal:

  Scroll down for the film and ignore everything apart as a result of clicking on the US/Europe/ISO buttons, you don't advance the slide. (I don't like on all counters/times etc.).

  (1) invisible clickbox to pause at the top of the timeline (i.e. "put on the map"

  (2) an another clickbox with a legend of success/failure (that I want to advance the slide)

  (3) a "Hide" button that hides the name of a legend and shows another button (all with a tip action)

  (4) a "show" button that shows the 'hide' button and the legend (by peak action)

  (5) a couple of areas of turnover used to mimic navigation so that the user can click in the right place for (2).

  What's you point to one of my articles? Oh, I see now you are intrigued by the little film. It was created with Captivate 5 and CP4 is a little heavier.

  I just answered a question similar, but explained by adapting the user file. He wanted to have several areas to click that showed a text caption and offer the user the opportunity to click as many times as he wanted to in order any on those select boxes. Only when you click on the continue button (or click box), there should be a navigation to the next slide. If I understand you correctly, this is a similar case?

  My workflow: do NOT use multiple actions for areas of click to show/hide captions. He must not trust at all, and in addition you must go back the playback head to avoid it continues after clicking on a CB. Create a tip action for every click like this screenshot:

  

  Here, a single text of the legend was hidden, but can be extended to many of course. The last instruction (assignment) is important: it puts the read head back a frame, so that it remains before the point of interruption.

  Hello, maybe someone can help me here. I'm new to Captivate, but I went through a few training programs to learn my way around the software.
  
  Here's my dilemma:
  
  My company manufactures custom software and it's my responsibility to produce some training videos for our main product. I actually have two problems, the first problem occurs when recording.
  
  On my screen options, I chose the (don't remember the text on the top of my head) check box that says (approx.) "when this app opens new windows are forcing them to the registration area" this feature does not work.
  
  Is this a compatibility issue with our development environment perhaps? (our application is written using Delphi) In fact, when the user clicks a button in our program, a new text input box opens. Using Captivate, this box is always displayed outside the registration area.
  
  Secondly, I have a problem when reading (project overview)
  
  I tried a lot of different options, with or without narration, etc...
  I save our program and the early stages of initial navigation are captured very well, when I select a part of our program that requires him to redraw the contents of the main navigation pane captivate playback slows down to a crawl and remains slow for the rest of the project.
  
  That is, if I save a second 15 clip with narration of the navigation to a part of our program and then double click on its title to open it since within our application, when I play on overview of the project, the audio will be after about 15 seconds, but the file plays again for another 60-75 seconds and all actions are out of sync.

  Hi Bill and welcome in our community

  I assume here that you are referring to the Options >... recording Options > record Options tab labeled option "move new windows inside recording area". I think it will be in large part due to the way developers have implemented windows. Captivate will probably only windows move he understands this area. So, it is possible that your application is not entirely understood by captivate.

  Possible solutions:
  1. when the window pops up, manually move in the registration area and then force additional screenshot by pressing the print screen key.
  2. replace the new window manually during a practice exercise prior to registration. Sometimes, these windows recall where they were placed last. If yours falls into this category, when you save the movie, the new window needs to jump in the last position and things should be better.

  Regarding the second question, are you record narration at the same time that you save the movie? If the answer is "Yes", although it is possible, is not advised. Try to save the movie, and then record the audio in a separate process.

  Another thing you could check (if you use version 2) is on the same dialog box. You have the option at the bottom (marked 'Real-time recording Actions') enabled? If so, try if this option and save again to see if the result is more satisfactory.

• Advice in the creation of Modules, classes, subjects in Captivate 9 project

  I would ask for a tip on how I classify recorded in captivate simulations.

  For example, I want to create an e-learning on Microsoft Word.  I intend that Microsoft Word is Project Module or the course itself.  Then in the module/course, there will be classes; and in the lessons are specific topics that are actually now saved simulations.  I have no intention to use the first Captivate.

  My plan is that it looks like this below.

  Project / Module / course: Microsoft Word tutorial

  • Lesson 1: formatting
    • Topic : font and change font size (simulation) style
    • Topic: "BOLD", Italicize or underline text (simulation)
    • Subject: align text (simulation)
  • Lesson 2: saving a Document
    • Subject: save the Document as a new file (simulation)
    • Subject : Save as a Document using Save as Type.  (simulation)

  And the list continues... I tried to combine all the simulations in a project and also used Table of contents, but it does not fit well especially if I combine simulations where a subject is recorded in 2 modes.  If I combined the simulations which are in train mode, it looks better in the Table of contents. Well that, when done with all the slides to a folder that I consider 'topic', the player will continue to display the next slide in the following folder, which i do not wish to be... So that means that I need to insert a blank slide with maybe a few texts at the end of each folder?

  Are there some work around?

  I don't really understand the question. If you allow the free navigation with a table of contents, there is no way to prevent the user to go to a slide. Why not create a slide menu, with lessons and different subjects? Create navigation of this slide of the menu and the custom button allows to return to the slide of the last slide in the topic/lesson menu? Of course, you can use a default playback bar in this case, nor free navigation with the table of contents.

• Navigation limited using advanced in Captivate 9 actions

  Hello

  My client likes to have limited navigation on some slides so that the learner must click on all the items on the slide before going to the next page. I use the games for the navigation bar. Here are the steps I took:

  • Added user variables
  • Tip Action to increment the variable to 1 whenever we click on the button and show hidden content
  • Conditional action in the slide, on enter, view the playback from all bar the button variable is greater or equal to 1, otherwise hide game bar. But the conditional action does not work and game bar remains hidden. What Miss me?

  

  Pressing enter is performed only when "return you" to the slide. I suspect that this is not the case here, if my hunch is correct. A tip action must always be triggered by a "case."   You must combine the two actions in one conditional action with two decisions, which will be triggered by the buttons. I posted this workflow already several times. The conditional action needs two decisions:

  First decision 'Always' is a standard simulated action:

  IF 1 is equal to 1

  Increment v_button1 with 1 I prefer this way each object, v_ indicates it is a variable

       .....            other commands that you want to

  Second decision "Check it".

  IF v_button1 is equal to or greater than 1 AND

  v_button2 is equal to or greater than 1

  See the PlayBar

  It is not possible to use a joint action in this case. The sequence of these two decisions is very important.

  I have a unique situation that goes with a simulation project where I jump on a blade of some who has sub navigation and when the user clicks on the subject under the project freezes from anywhere from 7 to 12 seconds. Once the next page poster there are three buttons, they can click to jump to a section. When they click on a button, the system freezes again but then does not progress. And then he makes the defective buttons. This same project will be randomnly display icon of black loading in the middle of the project as well and never disappear. You can still use the CBT but the bearings are disabled. Finally when the problem occurred, she also randomnly will play no audio that was imported to the slide.

  • Version - Captivate 6.0.1.240, were informed by Adobe that I can't apply the patch I have a perpetual license. But tried 7 so I think that I think that it is not associated with patch.
  • Project publish size - 30 mbs

  • Amount of slide - 280 - I know, it is a large file, the majority of it consists of 10-15 page software simulations for about 20 different topics. Other pages of 50 would be "designed" pages that contain images, text, animated buttons, navigation buttons, and others. I have a 218 page project which has pretty much the same exact features
  • LMS - SABA - the issue occurs when the edition of our LMS or just published to a Web server

  Troubleshooting so far

  • I thought it may be related to distance, that the project was to 'jump', so I moved the problem closer to the slide menu section and that did not help.
  • I had the menu go to a different page thought that was the issue. Without success
  • Published in Captivate 7 demo. Without success
  • Colleague has published. Without success

  This loading with the gray overaly image NEVER disappears. Some of the buttons will work randomnly work with this image like this. For example, I could click on Main Menu and blow it, but other times I could click on it and it does nothing.

  Help! I apologize about the "random" at all, I know it's figruing it that much harder. I will update this post with progress on other issues, I still have to try as well.

  This project has already passed the deadline and I really don't want to have to recreate it.

  I thank very you much for troubleshooting offline that you and Adobe have been made. As a result, we have had success.

  Community, as unique as I thought it was, so was the resolution.

  Adobe had me deselect both options in the preferences and my record is now fluid and all the "quirks" disappeared.

  I had to select Edit-> preferences-> access to the Quiz section-> select settings...

  Deselect 'Conscious branch' and 'display the progress '.

  I re-publiished the file after the deselection of these two options and have no problem.
