Crisis

Hi I have two accounts Windows 7 my admin and my guest account. For the moment, I use my guest account. This is because whenever I go to my admin all I see is a black screen with my mouse I can move around. I started it upward with safe mode and it works but like windows 98. How can I make it work. I also want to keep all my settings and files. Thank you

Open (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) Task Manager

Check for explorer.exe
If there, wait some time (up to an hour) for your desktop
I said up to an hour because I wanted to be very sure that the Office could load.

  • Maybe it's to rewrite the BIOS with crisis recovery mode?

    Hey everybody,

my laptop 'freezes' during BIOS 'PHOENIX' updated 2 years ago.
SERVICE told to change the motherboard, the price as new pc, so I bought new laptop.

I keep looking at the toshiba forum always, so I read a lot of information on the MODE of RECOVERY from CRISIS.
so I tried to check my laptop died after 2 years.

My satellite M100 starts in crisis recovery mode Fn + B.
my laptop starts up to CRISIS MODE, but do not read the USB STICK
I did the flash with the CRISDISK 1.0.0.4 USB key program, but I'm not sure I did it way right!

    My question is:
is it really possible to REWRITE the bios with crisis recovery mode, where I can read more information on how to do it.

    I want back my M100 :)))

    Hey,.

As Akuma writes that you should try a USB FDD instead a USB key. Key USB is supported only on new models of laptops, but as far as I know USB FDD will be always supported.

In any case, just for your information: you should know what you're doing. It is a delicate and risky procedure and in the worst cases you might destroy the whole ROM module but if you already have a new laptop I think that it s a problem for you. ;)

  • Crisis of the BIOS Recovery on Satellite P100

    Hello

Usual story. Windows (WinPhlash) BIOS updated was wrong and my P100 is dead.
I fell on the collection procedure of the crisis that should work on any laptop Phoenix BIOS based.

However, I either do something wrong or the motherboard is blown more than I expected.
In my case, I follow the procedure carefully, but my P100 won't enter in crisis recovery mode at all.
He's not even trying to access/boot USB floppy drive.

I just tested with A100 my wife and all the readers (HD, DVD and floppy drive) light their LEDs right after turning on the laptop, if the floppy drive works fine. When I press the power button on my P100, fans begin to turn, turn hard drive (and heater for chipset gets hot after awhile), but by pressing Fn + B or Win + B as described in procedure of CR does not any change in the behavior of the laptop. Floppy drive is Toshiba, marked, so there should be no compatibility issues. Voltage all the USB ports, but somehow my P100 refuses to access the floppy drive at startup.

    Any help?

    See you soon,.

Satellite P100 say isn't the same thing as the Satellite A100.
The two laptops are supported on different motherboards and different BIOS.

  • Satellite A210 - crisis recovery disk

    Hello

Winphlash killed my BIOS and now I'm doing a crisis recovery disk but it doesn't work. I wrote minidos.sys and phlash16 and extract the winphlash file BIOS on a USB. I renamend the BIOS. ROM BIOS. WPH but when I boot into recovery of the USB mode works for about ten seconds, and then nothing happens.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Hey,.

Here, in the forum, you can already find some discussion on this procedure of crisis recovery disk and how to reflash it. Just use the forum search.

But you should know that everything happens on your own risk and in the worst case you could destroy the whole ROM module If you really know what you're doing

I never had a problem with the BIOS update failed, but you can also contact an authorized assistance service provider. Guys have to reflash the ROM module professional tools and it can do for you.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A200-AH1 - recovery of crisis of phoenix BIOS, before I do that again...

    Hi, new first thread here.

My problem is with my satellite a200-ah1.
    Here is whats happening.

One day I decided to turn on my laptop and nothing.
It has been brought to future shop as soon as the problem has occurred they said the motherboard had to be replaced his $ 200 and work in addition to that... so I bought a new laptop. Now, I want to fix this one, because its pretty new and is portable.

I took the great technicians who know all aparently don't know how to put the screws on tight and he leaves. Many screws where ovfertightened and broken legs with small nuts on the inside but I managed to crazy glue back the pplastic legs, everything put together and all the screws are tightened again so far.
I've checked everything and more I tried different ram, no ram, hard drive, hard drive and the list goes to try to refine this component was causing a problem.
I never had a beep or any sign of signal or to go to the screen when you try different ram and remove it.
I press the power and I get the blue light the fan turn on half speed for seconds then stop no matter what I've done for her.

Now, I was ready to try to make a recovery of bios of crisis with a usb floppy drive.
When I had Fn + b and press the power button I got the purple glow to go, caps lock light went on with two other green light on the keyboard.
Now, I thought I was getting somewhere, but the hard drive just used light power.

So I tried with samething and usb flash drive.
Tried all ports, try holding fn + b key longer, but I just cant get usb to power anything.
What I do out of warranty, but very able to fix myself but I don't know where the problems here...

Please help, should probably to started this thread earlier. :)

It is not easy to offer a precise diagnosis but I think that there is serious hardware problem and you will not be able to fix it with this standard procedure as module/HDD repair or the BIOS memory Exchange.

A long time ago I had a similar problem on my Satellite M and in my case the CPU was faulty. After Exchange of CPU, I was able to start laptop. So maybe is the same problem on your laptop. Get used but good CPU on eBay, Exchange and try to start your laptop.

I put t know if you can do this alone but Exchange CPU is a very sensitive job and should be done by someone who knows how to do this.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 CG PSAE3E: BIOS corrupted - solved with the crisis recovery disk

    Hi all

I would like to report on the success of the recovery of corrupted bios on my Satellite A200 - 1 CG (PSAE3E).
Like many others I downloaded a latest bios update for my laptop and it started under Windows 7 64-bit.

In fact I only needs of some practical information from the bios update tool, but the update started automatically
without a question. :( After several blocks has been updated the progress bar stuck a heterocycle.
In 2 minutes, I got only the system completely frozen. I turned off the system manually, it works again, and...
my laptop was completely dead: screen etc black and of course, I wasn't able to boot in Windows 7.

So for those who only plans to update the bios: DO NOT update the BIOS ON the SATELLITE UNDER WINDOWS! THE UPDATE MAY BE STUCK!

I searched on the web has found a solution. With a specially created disk and external usb floppy drive, the problem can be solved then

I tried the recovery procedure described here, but it did not help. Earlier versions of tool phlash16.exe
where it is not able to restore the bios. I heard that the disk was read constantly for about 2 minutes. After the recommended 5 min break, I changed the power of and then turned back on it and... I had the same darkness of the screen as before :(

The strange thing is that the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe also did not work, but it was different from the earlier version. If I used the older version of the tool, the disk has been read for about 2 min, if used the latest version of the disk was read for about 10 seconds. It was for me, as the bios was not simply read by the tool.

So I searched and searched again. Then I found it: it takes phlash.ini to the phlash16.exe!
I downloaded an old bios (something from 2007) for an unknown Toshiba laptop to the Toshiba site. I renamed both the archive and found a phlash.ini inside. I changed only the second line in the ini file of... = 0 to... = 1 (I guess).

Then I formatted the diskette under dos, copied the minidos.sys he phlash16.exe (latest version), a new bios for my laptop in BIOS. WPH (I guess) and after a phlash.ini has been fixed. After that, I started the crisis recovery makeboot.exe utility (found on the site, which I mentioned earlier). After that, I have the phone in recovery mode (Fn + B) bootet and... It worked like a charm. So, the important thing was the phlash.ini!

So for those who has the same problem with corrupt bios, I've had: it's phlash.ini and the latest version of the tool phlash16.exe.
All other information can be retrieved on the web site, which I mentioned earlier. The described method works with the phoenix bios!

    So good Look

    Kind regards
    Igor

    Thanks for the friend information
But to be honest, the procedure of BIOS is always a sensitive issue and I would be always careful in using such things.

When even good to know that your device is running again!

  • Satellite L30-10 X: how to pass in crisis recovery mode

    Toshiba Satellite L30-10 X.
If you know FOR CERTAIN how to enter the "recovery from crisis mode" on THIS computer, please suggest.
Please answer only if you know how to deal with this model.

    I tried Fn + B, Fn + Esc, Fn + R, Fn + F, Win + B, Win + Esc, Win + R, Win + F with no result.
As it is said, screen may flash briefly after the connection of the power supply with these key combinations pressed. It is not the case.
Or I see USB FDD reading tent after turning on the laptop or laptop give me any other sign that he entered in crisis recovery mode.

Can you tell us if this model has a boot block in the EEPROM at all or may be it is also killed.

I don't like the idea of weld EEPROM, still at the service center.

    Behavior of the laptop:
Laps at high speed of the fan, lights power LED (and battery also LED, if the battery is connected), completely black screen, USB ports power.
Laptop computer can be turned on and off by the power button / stop.

Here's how I try to recover the BIOS:
-all (USB devices, external monitor) is disconnected from the laptop
-Floppy USB drive is connected, the crisis recovery disk is inserted
    -battery is taken out
-HARD drive and DVD player are out for safety
-power supply connected to the laptop computer and disconnected from the electrical network
-J' I press on and hold one of the magic key combinations, plug the mains (actually I use a switch to save the life of the point of sale), press the 'power' on the computer laptop while now the magic keys for awhile, then release the buttons and wait for the miracle to happen.
-If I need to try a different combination of keys, I about to disconnect the power supply to discharge all the capacitors (when the laptop is turned on) and try again.

    Hi TwinCat,

    > I think, it's better to go to the service centre before I kill portable feeding repeated on and outside.
I think so for and that is a very good decision.

From my own experience, I can say that my authorized service provider works pretty fast and the technicians are friendly guys.

I hope that everything can be clarified as soon as possible! :)

Lost and lost blocks configuration on PS6000

After the loss of power and reboot, the following symptoms:

    No active Ethernet link
Connection by serial Console cable gives lost blocks
Old password grpadmin is known, but not details of the current group, request the Member to initialize the array. All data would be lost.

Crisis! Is it possible to recover the table and group information and all data, even if unreliable and incomplete?

ATTENTION: Before using the clearlostdata command, call your support provider.

Clears the blocks of data on a table was lost.

Use the clearlostdata command when the blocks were lost, but the table doesn't know which blocks have been lost. In this case, the table will be unable to start or will not be accessible from the network.

Once connected to the table (either through a serial connection or a network connection with the IP address of a network interface), press the key and sign in to an account of group that has permission to read / writing (for example, the grpadmin account). The console will describe the problem and recommend that you use the clearlostdata command to try to fix the problem of lost block. At the CLI prompt, enter the clearlostdata command.

The clearlostdata command may or may not being able to fix the whole problem of lost blocks. In some cases, the problem can be corrected enough to initialize the array. If volumes stay offline, you maybe won't be able to recover the data on them. In these cases, you must delete the volumes, recreate them and recover data from a backup or a replica.

If the table is a member of a group and the command clearlostdata does not resolve the problem, the table does not start and you may need to remove the members of the group. If you remove the Member, the table will be reset and returned to its default settings. Delete only a member offline in extreme circumstances because reset table will delete all data on the array. See page 153 members.

  • I uninstalled "Acrobat Reader DC = malware". Reputation of Adobe CRISIS

I just uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on suspicion he was causing a problem of operating system on my PC, that Adobe Reader DC behaved like malware.

If I have correctly identified the question I came here to ask for because if I, the reputation of Adobe is subject to take a dip of a small crisis, but this is just warning so that Adobe can fix things and save his reputation until it was too late.

I am running Microsoft Windows 8.1 on a HP desktop PC.

When I uninstall Acrobat Reader DC I think installation date was January 14, 2016 - a few days before.

The symptoms were that start menu text style "Home icon" was not popping up as it should. This meant that I couldn't access the functions via the start menu or even shut down my PC as usual.

I could still access the start menu of Pseudo - touch button and through that I was able to access the PC - update and recovery settings and I was seriously considering a "refresh your PC without access to your files" involving removing dozens of applications and a lot of work to make my PC works again, but it would have been a panic measure then I studied deeper.

I found a suspect through the Task Manager. Via the menu 'Details', I found that a file with the name of 'RdrCEF.exe' used about 8% of the time processor and had monopolized an extraordinary amount of memory. I note the figure, but it may have been something like 2 GB, certainly much more data than any other process listed in the Task Manager.

I used the "Search online" feature to discover this "RdrCEF.exe" has something to do with Acrobat Reader DC and search results of online discussions said that claims he had problems with malware, something to do with sending data to Amazon or something.

Online research identified the location of the "RdrCEF.exe" and I was able to track down to this folder -

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroCEF

At this point, I started to get a bad feeling Acrobat Reader DC and decided to uninstall.

I can still read my PDF files on my PC after you have uninstalled because Windows 8.1 has a simple PDF reader, it offers up to.

Internet Explorer and Chrome are able to read PDF files on the internet also.

My PC now seems back to normal, but it's still the early days.

It seems to me that a cloud of suspicion has descended on Adobe because of what is happening with Acrobat Reader DC, my operating system crash and I guess I'm not the only one who came.

So this looks to me to a crisis for Adobe, either on it or imminent and I trust we PDF file readers can expect an emergency response?

Thanks for your response, Claudio but looks like I was mistaken on my suspicions about Acrobat Reader DC causing a problem with my Windows Start menu 8.1, what problem is back today, long after that I uninstalled Acrobat Reader DC.

Sorry Adobe if I made a false alarm.

I'm going on the occasion of this question 'answered' and go back to trying to diagnose what's wrong with my operating system.

Also, if possible, could I get information on the PCIe spec for this notebook wireless card slot (USB support, revision, etc.).

Thanks for any help you can provide on this BIOS and the recovery from the CRISIS.

One more thing... On the SONY site, the specifications of this laptop stating that the maximum amount of RAM that can be installed on this laptop computer is 2 GB, I have tested AND confirmed that the laptop VGN-N250E/b supports 3 GB of RAM (you can install 4, but the 4th gigabyte is not seen due to physical CPU (no EAP 36 bits) limitations and chipset).

  • Combination of keys start crisis of victory for Satellite L850 - 1 k 0 - no boot after BIOS FLASH

    Hello!
Someonw does know which key boot combination work for the L850 - 1 k 0?
I flashed a modded bios that works first, then the settings changed for the graphics card, stop and here's the laptop with black screen (to the external monitor VGA or HDMI).

Now I try to reflash original BIOS (6.8 InsydeH20) with wincrisis (which should boot from usb, which would be indicated by the led flashing on the usb port), but there are certain key combinations that is held over the power that differ: I tried with the ones I found Googling for similar models, Fn + Esc Fn + Esc, Windows + F, Windows + B, Fn + B - but nothing has worked, no activity to usb.

If someone know the combination of work as this model L850 - 1 k 0?
I have not found something looking for it online!

    Help would be very appreciated!

    Thank you!
    Timmtomm

    Hi TIMMTOMM,

Were you able to start the original bios?
My Toshiba l850-1w9 PSKDNE is the same as yours, (only difference drive HARD and OS), I did not start a bios from USB and I do not know the combinations for her but there is an article about how to start the bios modded on the net, but I don't think they will be posted here. Simply search for bios modded to the l850 and leave aside the 1 k 0.

And just a quick guess you did install a modded bios to activate the video card integrated CPU, so you can use it to Miracast, or something like?

  • Recovery of Phoenix for HP - Compaq Presario v6604AU crisis

    Hello

Recently, I got my - computer v6604AU laptop compaq presario with phoenix BIOS and AMD Athlon dual core processor - brick with a bad flash update.

I tried to use flash files extracted update bios slot location

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-93354-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&...

    1. I used them to create the phoenix recovery disk in a 1 gb USB Thumb Drive.

The configuration of the bios for my laptop contains also 2 WPH files: 30CFF34A. WPH and 30CFF34B. WPH

I used the first because it was newer.

    2. removed the battery and the power, you press Win + B (only this combination of keys the key USB LED lights)

But the USB twinkling like when its being used to read. The CPU fan speed remains low. And all of the other lights out as stated in many forums.

Then I let the key combination, I insisted on this.

Leave the computer on for about 20 min, but the flash does not.

Please me know anything useful if you fall on it.

    Thanks in advance.

    [Edit]

Recently, tried the same thing with the floppy USB drive

Like crazy laptop beeps and the floppy drive reads data. (This means that the recovery option is available for this BIOS)

but nothing happens after reading the disk.

    Maybe I'm missing something.

May be that the combination of files is not correct.

    Need help!

It seems that you are making progress with the floppy drive. Use one of the USB ports on the left side of the laptop, they are soldered directly on the system board. Although this should not make a difference, it is best to assume this will be.

If the BIOS file won't work not erase the floppy drive and then repeat with the other file.

It can also be better to assume that there is something wrong with that BIOS update and use an older BIOS which is known to work. If you know your a recent, so it is best.

If you still have your HP tools partition on the hard drive, try the procedure affects 'Windows' and 'B' with nothing plugged into the USB port. The HP Tools partition is supposed to contain the latest BIOS to work to bring relief to a corrupt update.

Are you running W7, if this is the case and you tried to update the BIOS under W7, then which caused your original problem. This is because the BIOS files were designed to be executed in a Vista environment.
