  Here's a way to do it.  In fact, I use myself a lot when taking pictures of this site (and because the program Paint is available on all of my computers without having to install anything).

  1. After selecting the zone, copy again (it will copy just the selected rectangle)
  2. Start a new painting file (press Ctrl-N shortcut to start a new file)
  3. Paste the newly copied image (that you copied in step 1)
  4. Save the file.

  If you want a more powerful image editor, Microsoft still provides the free photos of Windows Essentials app, which is optimal for the crops.  Example below (I already have some instructions on this subject for another user).

  in the following folder:

  What's happening: I put the cursor in the upper left corner and drag down, diagonally. Stop immediately to drag and I have a small box in the upper left corner. White spaces are left at the borders if I limit the harvest. I can move also the 9 squares as a single unit, before touching the VALIDATION button.   Have you tried to reset the tool to see if it makes a difference?  To do this, open your document in expert mode and then click the crop once tool.  Then on the right side of the window (assuming that the tool options is also click once by default), you will see something like this:

  

  Click on the arrow and you have the option to reset tool or reset all tools.  Select your choice and then close the application before starting again.  This should fix the problem.

• How can I fix the harvest? When I crop my photos and click OK, the layer no longer displays the resulting photo - just a dark gray background.

  Can someone help me to solve my problem of culture? I hit either a key that I wasn't supposed to hit accidentally, or software needs to be fixed or reset.  If I reset or reinstall the software (Photoshop Elements Organizer + 10), all my photos by category in the Organizer are lost with the new installation?

  I can draw a box on the photo with the marquee tool, and it would be perfect if I could size the box in pixels, but I don't see a way to do.  Did I miss something?  Or I have to use another tool?  Looks like the marquee selection tool would be perfect if I could size.

  Enter the width in pixels / height in your crop tool at the top of your screen.  Or click on unconstrained > size & resolution custom preset that you can re - use.  Click on the screenshot.

• Cropping a photo to 7 X 5 instead of 5 X 7 - how?

  I'm trying to crop an image so that it is 7 X 5 as opposed to the 5 X 7 available in the develop module, menu drop-down.  I want the 7 to be on the length and the 5 to be the dimension of the photo left.  I tried a number of things without success.  One of the things that I have not tried is to take the image on CS5 and see if I can crop with these dimensions in Photoshop.  I've never had this problem in the elements, so I do not know there must be a way to do it, I am new at this and for the life of me can not find a way to make it work, maybe it's something that is done in the print module - hi-gloss printing, letter-size paper...  Any idea that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
