CS3 question

Hi all

I'm new to this forum.  I use CS3 and I have problems, see files camera raw (CR2) of my Canon 40 d.  I went to the Adobe site and download the Camera Raw 4.6 update and I can now see the CR2 files in Photoshop, but I still don't see the Bridge.  I tried converting them to DNG, but still don't see them in Bridge.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I know that I should upgrade to CS5 but just can't afford it right now.

Thank you

Kevin H.

Everything you need to make the camera is ACR 4.2, so it should work perfectly.

Most of the problems with camera raw are one of 2 things.

1. you have several files in the folder

2. you have it in the wrong folder.  See the download instructions.

In Photoshop, click on help/about plug / camera raw.  Should see a version listed.

  • "How to make a picture without people": standard CS5 vs long feature (vs CS3) question?

This article "How to do a people-Free Photo in crowded Place" (http://submit.shutterstock.com/newsletter/217/article2.html) suggests CS3 extended is necessary. I was about to buy CS5 standard, but this seemed to be a useful feature to have (I was a bit larger 50-50, he had a few features that I would find useful, but not essential).

    Where my questions are:

    (1) it will work CS5 yet?

    (2) is there a better way to do this in CS5?

    (3) is expanded need, or has the functionality down to the standard?

Thank you for any help or advice.

    Jon

Yes, it works very well, but requires CS5 extended to use batteries of the Image.

  • Flash CS3 Question. Help, please! Thank you!!!

I posted my question once again, since it is in (.zip) file.

    http://S687.Photobucket.com/albums/vv231/Suchana6/?action=view & Current = website.jpg

There is a link to the problem with my button, that I created using Flash CS3, Action Script 2.0. The first button is inside a big white box. Anyone know why this problem and how can I solve this problem? Thank you very much. It will be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I think, what your problem is.  Your internship must be resized to the size of the image.  I'm just guessing that you publish the SWF in this file and the code that places it in an html page is saying that it is very small to fit in this small space, but the swf file includes all of the white background that see you... then all you see is a specification due to having shrunk so small in the web page swf file.

If you change your Document settings to the dimensions that you see for the width and height of the Flash file in the html code.  Then move the content in the scenic space and publish this file.

  • Late layer CS3 question

    Hello

I apologize for asking a question about CS3, but that's what I tend to use at the moment. How to unlock the original background layer or create new layers when editing, say, a .png? In previous versions, only the layer could be unlocked just by double clicking and the layer Layer 1 and create new layers would automatically change to a .psd image while it was being developed.

I can't believe that I actually have a new image and copy and paste all to it; I must be just missing the way to unlock the layer or my settings were set wrong.

    Thank you for your time

If you open a gif or a png 8-bit, then it will be in indexed color mode and the background layer is called Index. Indexed color mode does not support the layers among many other things, so you will need to first go to Image-> Mode-> RGB

  • Picture moves when you preview in a browser (was: DW CS3 question)

When you attempt to place an image in a page in DW CS3 and try to view the online placement, even if the positioning is correct using firefox, the image moves to the top of the page when you use safari.

    Any comments?

You do not have a page printed on a typewriter.  It is a web page.  Do not use the key entry as a layout device.  It does not work.  It is same for the space bar and tab keys.   Not good.

Learn to use CSS margins and padding to align items if you wish.  In very rare situations, you may need to use a little CSS positioning, too.  But it must be done with care.

Also remember that all browsers add their own default margins and padding to HTML elements.  This results in the change in browser.  You can use a CSS Reset to remove the margins by default & fill if necessary.  But these effects each element on your page.

    * {margin: 0; padding: 0}

  • Hyperlink InDesign CS3 questions

I create hyperlinks in InDesign exporting to a pdf file. I ran into 2 questions that I hope someone can help with. I tried this using a Mac (OS X Leopard) and a PC (Windows XP).

    1. I have a link that I try to go to a pdf file that is located on an https site. I created the destination using the full URL. I assigned to it for the words in the document (the "for more information" type words). In InDesign, in the hyperlink Panel, the drop-down menu to go to Destination of works. When I pdf file, however, there is no hyperlink available on the Mac or PC.

    2. "words" in InDesign that are actual URLS, all are typed in parentheses with spaces on each side, IE [www.adobe.com]. On the PC, some of these links work in the pdf, and some do not work as they include the closing parenthesis. I did them all in the same way and do not understand what I could have done wrong. And on the Mac, they all work. If there is no easy answer, I might have to convince the author of the document to exit media. :-)

I hope that I have included all relevant information. It's my second try because when I tried to post, I got a notice that I was not open session and could nothing when I tried to send, even though I was logged - VERY frustrating.

I appreciate any help on this.

    Thank you

    Marcy

The first question is you have two links Hypertext and Interactive Contentboxes checked in the settings of export?

  • Newbie on the video quality in CS3 question

I'm new to Premiere CS3. I use iMovie but wanted to move up to an application with more features and grain more fine tuning. However, I have difficulty getting my clips imported to maintain their quality. Don't know if I have PrCS3 configured incorrectly or if I don't know enough about video formats.

I'm under first v3.2.0 (374) on a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3 GB memory, OSX 10.6.6

    Here is my scenario:

I have a video clip with the following specifications: .mov, 720 x 480, H.264, 30 fps, bitrate 244 (see screen capture below). It was captured from my computer using Snapz Pro X.

    original_mov_file.jpg

I have imported the clip of PrCS3 and was surprised that the preview of the clip and composite overview posted less quality than the original (even made that quality mode has been set to the 'up'). The video clip was a bit of a hurry and clean edges of my vector art have been shredded. The whole thing seemed blurry.

    PrCS3_clip preview.jpg

    PrCS3_composite_preview.jpg

I thought that the exported video could be better. I exported the sequence using the following parameters:

    Premiere_export_settings.jpg

But the results were not better (I actually got the best results using iMovie HD). This is the last sequence exported.

Any help from the community of PrCS3 would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend Photo-JPEG, well for the screenshots, the Animation is very good.  Try a short capture with each of them to see which you like best.

  • Yet an another XH A1 w / CS3 Question...

I looked through the forum and have not found anything that is exactly the same problem, I'll have to capture HDV 1080i (60i) of my XH A1 in PP CS3...

I am running CS3 on a Dell XPS M1330 with an Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB Ram and Vista OS.  Like everyone else, I can't capture HDV footage - get capture to control the camera, even bring up the ofline screen I'm supposed to see while he cpatures, but in the end, it captures without frames.  However, I have peut capture HDV 1080i (60i) mode camera, but is not a HDV tape.

    Can someone please help?

    1. Unplug the XHa1 firewire cable
    2. The value XHA1 VCR/playback
    3. Press the Menu button
    4. Select "Signal Configuration.
    5. Replace the reading HDV standard.  The default value is automatic and it does not work well.

Now connect firewire, ensure that the AGENCY is set to HDV mode (mode not DV).

  • More installation of CS3 questions

HI, I have Win xp and I had downloaded CS3. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times and I've never had this problem before. I had a problem with the CS3 version and thought I have just uninstall and reinstall, but after I uninstalled it using simply add and remove programs, I tried to reinstall and continued to get the message that he was already running and let it complete the installation first of all. I'm crazy and so went uninstalled everything manually. Always the same message and now its projection upward to add and delete and I can't remove it! I have been put into registry and tried to uninstall all cs3 it but then every little thing I uninstalled appeared in Add and remove programs without the possibility to uninstall. Then I put everything in registry and photoshop shows always upward here even if I removed everything. So I downloaded the clean script Wincs3 from Adobe. I followed all the instructions but I can not get this program to run, and now I'm PISSED OFF! I've never had this problem with Adobe before and I don't like. After that, I did all these nonsense I tried to reinstall and get this stupid message. Can someone help me to reinstall photoshop? I don't know what else to do. I should add that when I tried to run the WinCS3 cleaner he says its not installed and when I click on WINCS3 cleanupadditon it just POPs and closes immediately. I turned the popups blocker and firewall and still have the same problem.

Not sure if this will help, but there is a Windows Installer Cleanup utility, you can remove install entries that you don't want, but it is dangerous to do that in an overzealous manner, so be careful.

  • Master page text frame, CS3 question

I use a master page to an inside page of the chapter has a couple of different text blocks: one for the header, one for the text and one for the folio, etc..

I made a change to the largest block of text, where will the majority of the text. Rather than update the pages, I now have a dotted line showing me where the new 'top', and I need to drag each individual up to respond to this text block. I know I'm doing something wrong, because it's crazy.

School me! What Miss me? Not to mention that the brain cells?

    Thankee,

    Chryss

The main text blocks can be useful or a waste of time. I almost never use them for content of the body, instead the margins of adjustment to the size of the text block. ID will use margins to create new images on all pages it adds.

That said, if you threw text in the frameworks of masters and the images on the live page is not updated when you change the master, it implies that you have already changed the size of the image on the live page. It is unlikely, in my view, if my guess is that you are not really masters executives. It's pretty easy to think you are, but to make a new image instead.

The idea is to look at the loaded cursor and see if the form is modified to include the parentheses. They indicate you want text in an existing framework. If the frame is bounded or crossed by guides, it is important to click in an area away from these guides. ID will use the entire frame. If, however, you click on a guide, ID will ignore the existing frame of master and make a new one. One way to tell is to drag the form part of framework filled the page and see if the main frame is always present (dashed lines).

Allowing the page layout setting can help in a situation like this, if blocks of text actually affect guides, but there is no guarantee, and it must be turned on BEFORE you make a change to the document.

If you provide more information, and perhaps a screenshot of the page master, we can give a better answer.

  • I am a newbie, please be gentle with me...

My wife and I have been designing Web sites for nearly 10 years. As fate would have, we have learned about Frontpage and have always used as the 'base' Foundation to build sites with. We currently host or maintain about 10 sites and realize now he can be liked beneficial to swith to Dreamweaver. A friend gave us a computer loaded with the amazing software, and today we are facing the challenge of re-learning. This machine has Dreamweaver CS3 (as well as the whole Adobe Design Premium CS3)

Questions: 1 do I need to "convert" the sites in order to make them work correctly once I have change with DW?
2 is - I need to completely reorganize the site, or DW will take care of that?

If someone did, or he can offer advice, it would be greatly appreciated... and thanks in advance!

Thank you for taking the time to sketch so SPECIFICALLY. EXACTLY what I needed to hear.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 - Preset & Questions for media files

Volunteered to create a high school highlight video using Premiere Pro CS3 on Mac football games.  The video will appear in a banquet hall with a NEC projector mounted on the ceiling.  The owner of the room has no info on the projector, so I do not know its resolution native or any other specifications.  The screen is full-size.

I was given a potpourri of media:

    (1) DVD game of the team from the press box.  MPEG Streamclip shows the VOBs have these properties: 720 × 480, 4:3, 29.97 FPS, Mbit/s 9,30, upper field first - 128 AC3 2/0, 48 kHz, 256 Kbps.  Good or bad, I converted the files to import dv VOBs in PP with these properties: DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720 × 480, 4:3, 29.97 FPS, Mbit/s 28,77 - stereo 48 kHz, 28,77 Mbps DV.

    (2) field-level video taken with a Canon HV30 (HD, widescreen).  The files I received are: Apple Intermediate Codec, 960 × 540, 29.97 FPS, 30,09 Mbps - 16 bit Big Endian stereo, 48 kHz, 1.54 Mbps.  I could ask to have these repeated files in the form of SD files.

    (3) many line pictures (TIFF) taken with a Canon 30 d-side.

After the installation of the project, I was counting on the final export of the video/audio as a mov file to be played from my hard drive top round instead of a DVD.  Not sure about the export settings for optimal quality.

But first, what predefined PP should I use for this project, or should I use the custom settings?  If so, what would they be?

I converted the VOBs in the correct format?

Should I resume the HV30 images or convert it to another format?

I have photos in Lightroom and can export to TIFF, JPEG, PSD or DNG and can resize down if necessary.  Any suggestions?

Finally, I thought of the conversion of the background music of mp3s to aif files at 48 kHz, 16-bit to be consistent across different audio files.  Any suggestions with the audio?

Any ideas or suggestions on these issues would be most appreciated.  If the answers to these questions depend on the type of projector, I have perhaps to wing it... or buy my own projector.  Ouch.

Sorry for the length of this post.

I recommend that you configure a 720 x 480 4:3 project.  At the very least, have

recapture them #2 as widescreen SD video files (I will refrain

to comment on the usefulness of the AIC to half-HD) the

recovered files widescreen SD eventually letterboxes in your 4:3

timeline.  Your other choice would be to implement a 720 x 480 16:9 project,

but who would eventually pillarboxed 4:3 image.  Your choice.

I think you did a great job converting the VOBs.

Resize images in Photoshop.  Get closer to 720 x 480 like you

can adjustment upward to take account of any panning and zoom that

You can do.  But do not increase the size more than you

Duty.  You definitely want to avoid working with the huge frame size

    PR images.

16-bit stereo audio for the 48 k should work just fine.

You should find out the native resolution of the projector and if

or not, it has an internal scaler.

  • Several Newbie Questions on first Pro CS3

Hello all, first post here and first, I'm trying my hand at video editing.

Just a few questions to help me get started if you don't mind.

1.) how can I get rid of the black box that appears around all my videos? He appears in the sequence 01 video feed and exports video looking the same way. I'm doing something wrong in my video settings?

2.) I was able to import audio data only with .wmv as my source file successfully. What should I do if I want to import audio data from another format (.avi)? or only CS3 does not support audio in some formats? (I already discovered that I need to convert to .mp3)

That's all for the moment, you all seem to have here a useful site that I look forward to more use in the future (if all goes well I can help you more than ask, but it is a program COMPLEX lol)

    Welcome to the forum.

(1.) be sure that your project Preset corresponds exactly to your video footage. Now, this isn't - that's why the black bars.

2.), it's easier to work with the audio part of a multiplex file. Some AV multiplexed files are OK in PrPro, but some give problems. I would like to use Soundbooth to "rip" Audio from these files AV. I think she does. I use hearing and it is perfect to tear.

    Good luck
