CS4 Audio Capture / Questions

Just installed CS4 Production Premium on a new HP Z800 workstation. 64-bit Windows 7 is the operating system. Premiere CS4 updated to 4.2.1. I shoot in HDV 720/60 p format. The RT update. Matrox X 2 is also installed in the system to deal with 720/60 p.

Capture of questions:

1 - does anyone capture and edit MPEG files and you have any problem what do I do?

2. in CS3, all video files have been captured and edited as Matrox AVI files. Is there a way to do it using CS4? When you attempt to capture 720/60 p in format AVI Matrox video is fine, but there is no audio. Does anyone know how organize settings for capturing audio during capture in an AVI file?

Thank you.

Spencer

Re: Capture in Matrox AVI, make sure that your settings in the screen capture are set up correctly.

1. the capture format should be set to Matrox AVI;

2 then set the audio, making that channel 1-2 is selected. All this is in the configuration of Matrox AVI settings on the capture screen.

  • Audio capture lost "what you hear" of conexant

I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV2278ea under Vista 32 bit, and have all the updates of the BONE apart from those announced in the past weeks. I recently updated the software for the integrated sound card Conexant High Definition for 08 August last version 4.36.7.60 C. Everything seemed fine until I came to do an audio capture of a stream on the internet using Roxio. Only one capture device listed was the microphone - it used to be the one who said Conexant Audio "what hear it" to capture anything the speakers. Review of the sounds in the control panel the only recording device is the microphone. Sound works very well in both internal and external speakers. I tried rolling back the drivers but its still the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

OK, that had me crazy for the last few days, but I found the solution:

Selections from the input Source to record Windows Vista for recording audio streaming, media players or anything you can hear coming through your speakers are hidden from view and people disabled by default. (I'm sorry - but why!?)   )

If your audio card/system support recording streaming audio input Source selections such as: stereo mix, What U Hear, Wave Out Mix, vague or a similar selection, here what you need to do to activate for the record:

Right click on your speaker icon in the system tray, (near the clock), select "recording devices".

In the acoustic window that opens up, near the top, select the TAB "recording".

Move your cursor where the devices are displayed.

Right-click in the empty white box and select "show disabled devices".

Support, new selections will appear such as: stereo mix, What U Hear, etc. Click right on "Stereo Mix", "What U Hear" or similar and select 'enable '.

Right-click on the same new item and select "Set as default device". Click OK.

Now in the Options of the recorder in the "Input Source" box, you should have the "Stereo Mix", "What U Hear" or similar source available to select for recording streaming, etc.

(You can also activate other selections hidden such as Microphone, Line In, etc, if they are not already displayed).

  • FFDShow and CS4 capture questions

I got my CS4 software and the new computer now for around 4-5 months but have not used first pro, yet (it is not actually a part of my job!). I went to capture a few videos today to find out that the software was not recognizing my Sony DCR-TRV950 via FW400. Turned off and on again, the computer itself recognizes the camcorder and the camcorder recognizes that he connected WHAT DV.

A few violins more (turn on/off camera and noticing that when I do, it is recognized by the computer and the 'Digital video device' window pops up asking what I want to do with the detected device windows.) So, I know that the firewire cable is not defective.digital video device.JPG

I chose the "Edit and record videos using Adobe Premiere Pro" option and all kinda froze and a dialogue box that came said:

    "Compatibility ffdshow Manager:

Adobe Premiere Pro has tried to load ffdshow. This dialog box is displayed because the application is not listed in the ffdshow whitelist or blacklist. Your choice will be applied to the audio and video, if both are used.

-Do not use ffdshow. (just this once)
    -Do not use ffdshow. (always)
    -Use ffdshow. (just this once)
    -Use ffdshow. (always) »

I didn't know exactly what thinking then decided to choose that I wouldn't use ffdshow just a moment and the program froze. I have tried through the import function of media in the photo above (disk Roxio burning software) and Windows Movie maker and the same thing happens every time.

I tried once to "use ffdshow. (just this once) "and the program was still frozen.

Video editing is not essential to my function here, it is something that would benefit the work and make my life happier in all - and also means that we can actually use the software, we bought! Any help would be appreciated.

    System:

    XP Pro

    Version 2002, Service Pack 3

2 internal hard drives, C: = 130 gb, the other is 230 GB

I find that very good reading DVD PowerDVD from CyberLink software. In addition, MediaPlayer Classic HC (freeware) did a good job too. I have both, but PowerDVD is my go - to. We never really had them matched by-side.

You'll have much, much less questions, than with FFDShow.

For general information, you can do a search on this forum on "ffdshow" and read. If the list of threads is overwhelming, perhaps filter the people - Jeff Bellune, as he responded in great number. Another person to filter would hurt Millaard.

    Good luck

PS - you can also check your CODEC, like K-Lite is going to crush some commercial CODECS with the free "hacked". Don't worry if your utility CODEC issues warnings about problems with the Adobe MainConcept CODEC. Those are false positives, as Adobe hides those, this programs such as K-Lite cannot overwrite them. Unfortunately, the CODEC utilities also are not correctly, and you will get the display errors. It is ManiConcept to Adobe, you're OK.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 Capture question

    Hi all

I am currently using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and I'm trying to use the option "Capture" to transfer files from my Panasonic HVX-170 P2 HD, but it doesn't seem to work.  I have the camera in PC (USB) mode and my laptop recognizes that the camera is mounted as a hard disk, but still the "Capture" option indicates the device is offline and I can't transfer.

    Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the forum.

Like an injury, you must copy your files via USB to the laptop. Caveat here: copy the structure of the entire folder of your map - all of this.

Then, you import these files, not to capture.

    Good luck

  • Triggering off the coast of beginning of Pulse Audio in question DAQmx...

    Hi guys,.

First of all, it is more a matter of software than hardware, so I didn't post this specific question in the multifunction DAQ card...

So I'll try to trigger an acquisition finished off the start of a pulse audio, however I have audio sync issues, due to the fact that it can be started before my VI runs. As noted below, the audio is generated and pulsed for 500ms on and 500 ms off the coast, and between these periods, a digital pulse is generated this way (shown in red). I have a problem to stay synchronized, due to the fact that I samples finished for 1 second of a data value, and if the USE EEG is faster than me, I can catch the pulse audio at Midway, rather than at the beginning.

I'm trigger analog outboard of a sound signal of 50mV and capturing two audio channels simultaneously and consistently captures 3 digital channels when they receive the trigger of the beginning of analog input trigger reference digital edge. If digital are slaves and audio is the master in this configuration. The point of this is to get a delta timed material at the time rather than use the timestamps of windows.

As I said, I use an Analog Edge Trigger Start to start my purchase, what triggers the digital task Digital Edge Start Trigger to start as well. How can I make sure that I start at the BEGINNING of a new pulse audio if I get out of sync, I can't understand this logic... Analog edge goes off just when it goes to the specified level, but maybe it's at half way through the 500ms pulse, so this is my problem...

I need to be a trigger to start because I do 55 000 this test iterations in a QMH Prod/consumer model and need relaxation to be redeclenchables and start-up is only redeclenchables.

The variability in timing you see at points 2 and 4 somewhat dictate against the possibility to set up a re-triggering precisely timed by the hardware configuration.  I think that you need to abandon the idea of making repeated sampling finished back to back and switch volleys in a mode of continuous acquisition and treatment.

To help with this, I aim to capture the moments of digital via meter rather than DIO pulses and be ready to give up the acquisition rate noise much (if necessary) given that you said that your main concern is to distinguish between ON and OFF.

I must configure the counter to use the Digital pulse as a sample clock and use the sample clock signal HAVE the "time base", i.e. the signal which the edges will be counted and buffered in memory.  This will give you 2 samples per second instead of 5 M and the values of the counter at these sampling points is the index in your AI data which occurred impulses.  Pretty neat and clean.  Just be sure to start the task of counter in front of the task to HAVE it.

  • Premiere Pro CS4 Transition handle questions

    Grettings,

I continue my transition to PP CS4 from a different NLE and translate slowly my techniques.

I am always sick on certain transitions. I understand that for some transitions "handles" are necessary. For example the default base melted crossed does not appear to do anything without them. However I sometimes created an additional audio track of creating synchronization problems video handles on the main track in order to create a transition. I checked on all sync Flickr photos.

However, some transitions seem to be working without handles... I just razor video and insert the transition (proper technique). Œuvres without handles and fine audio sync. Certainly easier and less concerned I spoil my sync. I know how to drag changes etc... aim can't marry this knowledge to this fundamental question.

I'm sure I'm doing something basic wrong!

I just want to use my transition of choice without fear of ruining a multiple audio track and project multi-video segment and understand when I need to worry about the handles of the video or audio. And when I can just razor and insert a transition.

    Thanks for any help!

    BJBBJB1

Try to change the Source element long since in the Source window.

Set points in the source window and then do drag or insert / you cover them to the timeline.  Do this for all the equipment you need from the source element.

Apply your transitions to lower points.

The razor tool isn't really the tool for editing.  He is more used to split a clip in the timeline panel so that the Editor could be applied to different fx to every part of the same clip. (for example)

  • audio capture

I do not search this Board first, but could not find an adequate response, which would be a good hardware DAQ to use to capture a signal from an audio amplifier for the measurement of noise and distortion. I'm building an amp for me so did not not a budget of manufactured goods. I was thinking about using a HP frequency generator to capture a very clean waveform and then compare this after that amplification using Labview built in functions. I have Labview 8.6 SE

    Thank you!

    Alan

I have not read through each link.  I just found with a quick Google search and scanned them quickly.

I don't see your response as sarcastic at all.  I know all too well how ugly hardware audio consumer PC.  However, I think it might be quite appropriate to digitize a signal _error_, since the required loyalty is very less than that required for the measurement of the signals of interest directly.  The method I mentioned has the additional advantage of being insensitive to the distortion of the signal from the source, so you can be able to use audio PC in order to predict that, as well.

  • Audio capture on Simulator does not

I am writing an application that captures the sounds.  He has used the technique described in the javadoc for RecordControl.  My code works fine when it is installed on my Curve 8330.  But when run on the Simulator, it seems to work, but no data is never written to the record output stream (suggests that the Simulator is not my microphone audio routing).

I'm under BlackBerry JDE plug-in for Eclipse and the BlackBerry JDE v4.5 component Pack.  I tried all the profiles profiles 8300 Simulator and no capture any sound.  I rechecked my microphone is not muted, and other applications to record on my WinXP box actually capture sound.

Is this something that should work in the Simulator?  I have to configure something to give the access the audio in Windows JVM Simulator?

I think I have solved my problem.  Last night, I restarted eclipse and everything started working as expected.

Honestly, I don't know why this correction of the problem but have a hint.  I started eclipse earlier in the data via a Remote Desktop Session.  I don't know the details of how the JVM determines with the source sound/sinks are available.  But I imagine that the process of the eclipse didn't see any sound source because I was connected via RDP.  And it took a reboot once directly connected so he can see all IO ports.

  • pp cs4 firewire capture

First pro cs4 has suddenly stopped to see the camera to capture video, I even bought an express card firewire adapter think that the port had gone wrong. Any suggestions? Thank you

I tried another camera and it worked so I guess it's something with the camera.

  • System Audio Capture - does not work

    Hi all

I am trying to capture my audio system and I can't get Cp8 to do exactly this. I am running the latest version of Cp8 on my MBP OS X 10.9.5. I opened a new video demo, with selected audio system, with or without a microphone. The microphone will very well, capture any audio system.

I have a request to capture a few Skype interview and Tuesday, any help will be great!

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Have you tried Setup audio driver "Soundflower"?. Please see the link for more information below.

  • Yet CS4 Export as Question Flash on the display full screen

I produce 16 video segments in first.  I now need to combine in a video that runs continuously and plan to use Encore CS4 to do this.  In the Build section, there is a selection of Flash.  In addition to the DVD (which I will do in yet) I want as the Flash version.

I think it might be easy for the customer to browse all the associated files made by again and put them on any computer, open it and let the video game on the computer (with a large attached screen).  Much like you would in a kiosk environment.

My question is - I did a quick refresher test and things seem to work except when you play the video, it doesn't seem to be a mode switch full-screen.  I thought it would be, but there isn't.  Is there a way to activate the mode full screen?

    Thank you.

The flash can be fussy playing "locally". If some security settings may be required on the PC play back.

There are limits to the Flash yet. These have changed between version CS4 upward through CS6.

Customize the player controls have become much more flexible with, I think, CS5, but maybe 5.1 or CS6.

  • CS4 DVD Capture files

CS4 that I need to capture the DVD segments, I created some before making a video hilite. But it won't capture to DVD vob files. I capture usually just a DV tape.

    Thank you

PrPro CS4, that about the 2nd or 3rd update (I forget now), can import 100% compatible (very important) DVD VOB. If you have not updated CS4, I do it first and then try to import the VOB into the project. This ARTICLE goes into a bit more detail on VOB using.

I also agree with Jim on the way to the source material, if possible.

    Good luck

  • Premiere Pro CS4 - audio not listed is not in the queue of Media Encoder

    Hey all,.

The title says it all. I have two audio files from Premiere Pro CS4 both with the extension WAV. When I go to them for export as a media, Media Encoder does not seem to take it to the top and the queue window remains empty.  I had no problem with video files, but this is my first time needing to encode audio files strictly.

Is there a trick?  I need to encode to MP3 or WAV. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the tips.

    Ok.

Couple of notes.  A re-export off Soundbooth as .wav files, .mp3 is not.  Two, you do not mention the details of any sequence could have created and been working in.

  • Captivate 5 - Audio import questions

I'm trying to import an audio file of 30 min on a blade.  It was in Captivate 4 no problem.  In version 5, the chronology is slow and often play not at all.  When I saw or publish the slide, it plays for a few seconds and then turns off.

Is there a size limit of audio file for Captivate 5?

    Hello

You try to play the audio file on the timeline? Also, I see validation you have inserted an audio file of 30 minutes on 1 single slide.

Audio playing on the question of the chronology:

Captivate slide timeline starts to get lazy for a longer period and it is designed to operate for a maximum of 999secs (about 16mins). So I suggest you dispatch the audio file on multiple slides, say 5 slides with 6mins each. In this way, in my view, the problem of chronology would resolve.

The question of the time publish:

You are the project on a hosting server and play on a client? Also, what is the percentage of preloader in Captivate? This can be found in preferences of Captivate. Do the following-

    1. open your project in Captivate 5

    2. go to the menu items "Edition > Preferences.

    3. in the 'Préférences' dialog box, go to "project > Start and End" and look for the percentage preloader.

Set it to 100% (if not already) and check if audio plays project now.

    Let us know your comments.

    Kind regards

  • Video Capture question

I have a pretty basic question.  I use Adobe first Pro CS5 in recent weeks and I am positive, that this was a great purchase.  It does what I need and more (I took several tutorials and understand the basic functions well enough).  For my old data that has been saved on the Mini-DV format (new are 1080 p on SSD so it does not apply to my new thing), my basic question is will capture in CS5 by using the DV on my old camcorder provide results "even, more or less," compared with the help of a converter of specialized equipment.  I'll probably get a response of 'it depends', but would like advice for those who have used the CS5.  I used a converter material in the past with OK results.

Sorry for the newbe question, but would like a quick answer, if anyone has the time.  BTW - my PC is new generation for video editing, has a lot of power and I don't have the ability of reading mercury.

    Thanks in advance.

I also RCA plugs on the camera, however, no matter how the A/D converter is good (if you are using RCA connectors), firewire will be always the best.

Well, you have essentially two different things here - yes, it's a camera, but you can use it to do two different things.

Firstly, if you miniDV tapes, Firewire is the only link that you will use. When you do that, you don't transfer video in the traditional sense of the term, but rather that you are effectively copying tape on your hard drive. All that's on the miniDV Tape, it's the same thing as what you will end up with on the hard drive. Analog connections (RCA Sockets) will not be used for this process at all. So if you're talking about DV video, it's as good as it gets.

On the other hand, if you have some sort of analog tape as VHS or Hi8, you have an A/D converter between the plate and the computer - is where the analog connections on the camera would come into play. In this case the base map is:

Analog turntable-> RCA cable (or any other analog connection)-> DV camera as a converter A / D-> 1394 (Firewire) cable-> computer

In this case, the best the analog signal is that you feed to the A/D converter, more digital captured video shows. Of course, there are all sorts of variables here - reading bridge, the type of analog connections, the quality and characteristics of the A/D converter and the DV codec itself - you can control some people and some you can't really, depending on what you have access to. If you're not dealing with analog video, however, you don't have to worry about all this
