CS4 deactivation on computer default XP, upgrade to the new computer under Win7. I have CS4 installed. Can I disable it on each product, or a simple deactivation will cover all?
I have CS4 installed on this computer but computer does not and I have to get a new one. Can I disable it on each product, or a simple deactivation will cover all? Also, I see that all products are now on the cloud is then CS4 still an active product?
With any Suite, launch an application (e.g. Photoshop) and click Help > deactivate to deactivate the entire suite.
CS4 was not an active product since CS5 ships in 2010. We have, since then, had CS5, CS6, CC (subscription only) and CC now 2014 (subscription only).
Also, it depends on what you mean by assets. You can always download, install and activate the CS4.
However, Adobe is no longer everything works on CS4 and no longer supports it via Customer Service Chat etc.

I have the Windows 7 upgrade version that I installed last September, but a few days ago my hard drive died. How do we install the version 7 upgrade on the new hard drive without using a previous version of windows on it?
In order to install the Windows 7 upgrade version, you must have a system of eligible operating Windows installed and activated. You cannot install a version upgrade of Windows 7 on a drive blank. The installation procedure you do not insert a Windows disk in the drive for verification, eligible operating system must be installed.
If you do not have a qualification system of operating Windows installed with an activated genuine license, then you can not use the version upgrade of Windows 7 - you would need a license of Windows 7 "full version".
In summary:
1. a Windows operating system to eligible address must be installed.
2. the Windows operating system to eligible address must have a genuine license (product key) and it must be enabled.
3. to upgrade, boot on the eligible Windows desktop, insert the Windows 7 upgrade disc in the DVD player.
4. when the menu appears, select custom (advanced option) to a clean install procedure.You should be able to repair the installation, if your installation one fall. I suggest create you a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to spare you the trouble if your computer one fall in the future.
You can work around this two ways, I would suggest that you create a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to save you the trouble if your computer loses the system failure or instability. Since you are in possession of a valid license of Windows Vista for this computer, you can use the following method to do a clean install with upgrade support:

I had problem upgrading to the new Windows Live Messenger. So, I completely uninstalled messenger.
I downloaded the last installation and I keep getting stopped on the installation with a window saying process:
"Messenger could not be installed because we had difficulties to install this requirement: Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime." Try to download and reinstall these programs. One of the installation files seems to be corrupted. HR:0x800b004 ".I tried the 'Get help for this error', but no satisfaction. I have this problem everytime I try to install. I tried to re - download the file to install several times but the same results. Please, someone help!

Take a look at my answer, complete instructions.
Basically speaking, Dell officially supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP on Dell Latitude D610 (and other models of Dx10).
However it can really run Windows Vista and 7 at least, as long as you max out the RAM (2 GB, 2 x 1 GB, can be purchased at a great price in eBay) and install the drivers, in particular graphics drivers, look in Device Manager and see what drivers are needed manually.
If you're lucky to have a D610 with ATi graphics card then you can even run Windows 8 and 10 with all drivers available, and I can tell you that it won't be slow dog not unlike a lot of people say, I don't have something similar (a HP Compaq nx8220) in common use. Keep as lean as possible (not bloatwares, anti-virus etc.) system, and it will serve you well.

HP 990 cm print is no longer the color since the upgrade to the new iMac with Mountain Lion
Have an older CV (990c, m series) which worked fine on my iMac Leopard PPC (X.5.8) running.
Since the upgrade to the new Intel iMac running Mountain Lion (the most recent software upgrades / w X.8.2) this printer will print only in black and white, despite having new color and cartridges inkjet black installed - even the test pattern that prints automatically when I changed the print cartridges only in B & W.
The detailed print dialog box that appears when I try to print a color page does not include the usual option to print in color.
I think that HP is no longer provides this older printer drivers but guess they are in the software updates in Mac OS.
Someone has an idea how I can fix it, or is it just time to recycle this printer and buy a new one?

Usually, there is a way to upgrade for current users of the software at a reduced price. I don't see something like that for Lightroom 6. I have to pay full price just to upgrade to the new version of standalone LR6?

Failure of Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade on the new computer laptop

We just bought a new Asus laptop that came with Windows 7 Starter as standard.
A week later, we bought an Express Upgrade Home Premium 7.
The upgrade has failed at first time around; following the advice of the community, I tried the following:
Check all updates;
Installed the CheckSUR tool fix;
Disabled user account control;
Disabled antivirus;
The hard drive to find errors;
Profiled selective startup in MSConfig.
In the end, I got was a "invalid product key" - which it is not.
Windows displays as entered, and I have SP1.
As a last resort, I have reset the specifications of the factory and tried the Express upgrade as the first thing on the PC 'cost '. Upgrade failed after 25 minutes.
In the very final resort, I reset all the solutions above workaround to the specifications of the factory again, re-directed (except by disabling the antivirus because I have not reinstalled which again - there is only Windows Firewall between me and the world wide). Update failed.
I just tried to disable the Windows Firewall and tried the upgrade - my product key verified program, was asked to accept the terms, told me it would be as little as 10 minutes - but now it's to say the upgrade button that I entered is a version of Windows that does not work with the Express upgrade... but it IS an Express upgrade.
It took nine days so far - please you have the magic answer? Thank you waiting...!
You have already done most of what I have posted, but it can't hurt to read and review as it is possible that you missed.
Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade fails:

Then, in the list of the search results, click on "Windows Anytime Upgrade".
Then follow the prompts on the screen anytime upgrade.
Basically, all you need to do is enter the Windows 7 upgrade product key.Another method:
(Located at the top right) Start/Control Panel/small icons option / click the "Windows Anytime Upgrade".-------------------------------------------------------------------
(E) if it continues to fail, try the following 3 methods:
Method #1
(1) run Chkdsk and see if it helps.
Click Start / type: CMD and right click 'CMD' and select 'run as administrator '.
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
Restart your system, hard drive of your computer is analyzed to find errors and will try to correct them.(2) run the Memory Diagnostics to look for problems with the system hardware. Type of memory in start search and press ENTER to open the memory diagnostic tool open. Click restart now and check for problems. Your computer will restart and will start the diagnostic program. 1. click on start, type: "msconfig" (without the quotes) in the box and then press the ENTER"" key.User account control permissions: If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
3. under "Selective startup", uncheck the "Load Startup items".
4. click on the 'Services' tab, click to select the box "hide all Microsoft Services" and then click on disable all.
5. click on 'OK '.
6. When you are prompted, click "Restart."
7. once the computer has been restarted, check if the problem is resolved.
Method no. 3
If your key is not valid and you will need to change the keys, you may need to Open regedit and remove first the ProductKey value in the following registry key:HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsAnytimeUpgrade
