CS5 compatibility on a late 2008 Macbook Pro?

I'm about to buy a 15 "Macbook Pro second hand. I would check that there are no probs with CS5 here firstly of thought.

Here are the specs: http://support.apple.com/kb/sp499

  • Processor Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz with 6 MB cache shared N2

  • Graphic processor Intel HD NVIDIA GeForce 9600 M GT with DVI dual-link support;  512 MB of GDDR3 memory
  • Processor graphics from NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M with 256 MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main3 memory
  • Dual display and copy video: simultaneous support for native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors

Is it going to be ok?

Cheersd!

Is it going to be ok?

Yes. CS5 works even on my 2006 / 2007 MBP with OS x 10.5.8. OSX has supported 64-bit for some time and all the chips intel Apple use have also just as long. At worst, you may have to disable OpenGL, but by all rights a minor loss...

  • Late 2008 MacBook update to El Capitan?

I plan to update my Late 2008 MacBook of Lion (10.7.5) to El Capitan, since my new iPhone 6s is not compatible with iTunes. Advice? I intend to go there and buy a new machine, the next time a new MacBook Pro is launched. Looking for a small difficulty but won't be sorry!

  • process step by step new airport express from apple with time capsule base of connection (cable cat 5 150 Ft) with late 2008 macbook

I would like a step by step process apple a new airport express with time capsule base of connection (cable cat 5 150 Ft) with late 2008 macbook.

Connect one end of the long Ethernet cable (we assume that you have already tested the cable to make sure it works correctly) one of the three ports LAN <>- on the Time Capsule to the WAN port on the AirPort Express "O".

We assume that the AirPort Express is new, is powered OFF... and has not been previously configured.

    Turning off the Time Capsule

    Wait a few seconds

Put in the Time Capsule market and let it run a full minute

Power of the AirPort Express and run a full minute. Currently, the indicator light of the Express slowly flashing orange

On the MacBook, click the WiFi status menu icon and search for a list of the new AirPort access point

Just below this list, click on AirPort Express

Who will get the "Assistant" operational configuration. It will take a few seconds for the wizard to analyze the network and offer the correct setting in a display that will look like the example below, except that you can see your cameras and the name of your wireless network.

In short simple name you want to call the AirPort Expressof type... .as OfficeExpress, for example

    Click Next

Watch the next screen carefully to confirm that the AirPort Express is in place to extend using Ethernet, which confirms that the installation wizard recovers the wired between the Time Capsule and AirPort ExpressEthernet cable connection, so the settings correct configuration will apply.

When you see the message Setup is complete, click done. Close the installation window, and you're done.

  • The display on my 2008 Macbook Pro went dark. Can I connect to a Mac monitor no?

View on 2008 MacBook Pro has been dark. I can connect the computer to a Mac monitor no?

Sure. If the computer problem, it is with the LCD screen or the backlight, you should be able to use it plugged in the external display. If the problem is with the graphics card will not help the external display. Your computer requires a dongle to connect to the screen and you must get the correct key for display - VGA or DVI. Determine what type of port the display and buy the appropriate mini-Display dongle

You have the original installation media supplied with your machine? This would be a way: use the DVD to boot from, format the new hard drive and then reinstall the operating system. You can then update/upgrade to 10.11.

Other than that, your model was not eligible to have its firmware updated to allow for the recovery of the internet which is the only other way I know - at least the only other way besides a bootable clone, you did before your defective hard disks.

Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support

Do not think to partition/format your new drive first.

  • Passage to the SSD for late 2008 MacBook for editing video: Samsung 850EVO or Pro?

    Hello

There are a lot of things out there on the upgrade the bowels of SSD and I narrowed my choice to Samsung 850 Evo or Pro, but there are some details that I found not covered elsewhere. The idea is to give to my MacBook Pro a few years in addition to be able to edit HD video (currently, it slows to a halt). I'm also upgrading to 8 GB of RAM.

My questions are: both the EVO 850 and 850 Pro actually work in my model, old as it is?

I would notice the difference between the two while editing video, taking into account the difference and compatibility issues/limitations of price? (Limits of SATA would effectively slow the levels of the EVO Pro?)

If/when I get ahead, it is advisable to keep my entire modification on a with the main files external HARD drive, or should I keep makes it / cache on the SSD drive?

    Here are my specs:

MacBook Pro (15 inch, late 2008)

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor

    4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory

    Macintosh HD boot disk

NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M 256 MB graphics card

Running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5.

Please keep in mind, I am a techno-idiot and 90% of the above words I learned again in the last two days!

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Graeme.

    Yes.

Probably not.  You willing MBP of SATA2 connectivity and the full potential of each SSD not happen.

It's your choice.  If the capacity of SSDS is quite large, personally, I like to keep all data on a single disc, but maybe it's not convenient.

  • I can transplant my early 2011 2.7 GHz 13 "MacBook Pro hard drive into my late 2008 MacBook 5.1?

The battery on my early 2011 2.7 GHz 13 '' MacBook Pro just exploded, almost destroying the machine. As I need to replace the battery and the trackpad, I guess that's maybe a good time to upgrade to an SSD, leaving me with the old 500 GB 5400 RPM hard drive Serial ATA to play with. This hd currently has Yosemite and all my essential programs installed on it. I also saved it on an external drive via Time Machine.

Meanwhile, I have a MacBook late 2008 5.1 I want to migrate everything to, however the HD is only 320 GB, resulting in errors when trying to make an update of Time Machine.

Can I pop the hard drive of the 2011 MBP in my MacBook late 2008 5.1? Is the material compatible? The OS sees it's a different system at startup and make the necessary adjustments (No firewire, there less RAM, etc.)?

If not, how can I move my Applications without moving on the entire hard drive? Or could I format the hard drive to 500 GB and then run the Time Machine backup? It would even work?

A lot of variables here. Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you!

I forgot to mention that the MacBook 5.1 is 2.4 GHz.

  • CS5.5 uninstalled with the new MacBook Pro retina

I bought CS5.5 earlier but he couldn't put it on my computer because it was not compatible.  Now I just bought a macbook pro with the retina display and is not an optical drive to install my cs5.  I looked on the website of adobe for a cs5.5 trial download to save my program there, but all I see is cs6.  Can I download CS6 and always use my serial number of my box for the CS5.5?  Or should I bite the bullet and buy an external optical drive?

    Thank you

You cannot use cs6 with a serial number of cs5.5.

Yes, the upgrade Setup program will be / should just ask the serial number. You can easily install CS3, anyway, because it requires support PPC and would require installing Rosetta, that same call support is no longer...

I have a question about the purchase of an upgrade with OWC memory cards. I need to upgrade my Mac Book Pro early 2008 edition. • late 2008 MacBook longer or more cold in clamshell mode?

I was going to use my MacBook recently updated as your desktop with USB keyboard and mouse. Clamshell mode for long periods, there will be 4 to 10 days. I've upgraded to a SSD just for the reason to reduce heat on the left palmrest. Can someone tell me experience to maintain in this present mode for long periods. Do I need to worry about my precious Mac to choke to death?

I've been running my ' 08 MB end in mode clamshell for about 2 months now. For now, it's about 25 degrees in my room and the MB is 39 ° C.  Last week, it was about 5 ° C cooler in my room and the MB was at 37 ° C.  I don't know if it is warmer or colder than it would have been in normal mode.  I think the only difference would be the heat generated by the monitor being active and that wouldn't go in the body of the device.  I keep my plugged all the time so I guess that the chemistry of the battery does not produce a lot of heat.
