  As mentioned, InDesign saves don't return only one version.

  I'm working on a publication that was created in CS5 (Windows). It has since been opened in CS5.5 (Mac), recorded as an extension of .idml and is now open in CS5. It opens OK, but there are important screen lag between the pages. I tried to delete all preferences, but it did not work.

  .Idml conversion is unlikely to be the cause. Most are probably live screen drawing, cross references, link previews, live preflight or something similar.

  Yes. CS5 works even on my 2006 / 2007 MBP with OS x 10.5.8. OSX has supported 64-bit for some time and all the chips intel Apple use have also just as long. At worst, you may have to disable OpenGL, but by all rights a minor loss...

• Is CS5 due for an upgrade?

  I ask this question because I was a little late buy CS4 and when I had it right up and works on my XP sp3 machine, they have highlighted CS5. There is no way economic upgrade for my CS4 Web Standard, and prices in the United Kingdom are well above U.S. prices. I don't want bitten you twice!

  So until I get the cheaper way to buy a copy of Dreamweaver stand-alone, and use Fireworks CS4 to produce the graphics, I need to be sure that the next version of the upgrade is not just around the corner.

  TBH the small size of the provided update really means that you will get what most people need to CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS6 etc etc as they will.   A tech support person suggested that I "gives new customers your login/password to your cloud account" so that they will be able to use the MUSE to update their sites. I asked about safety, and if my credentials, they would have access to ALL my content in the cloud, including the other work of the client, they said YES. (What about the stupidest suggestion you heard?)

  It's confusing, at best, and here's why:

  • My clients pay between $10-$20 / month to pay for hosting on their existing sites. new customers will probably pay the same.
  • Previously, they would simply * purchase * Contribute that would allow them to edit the content on sites that I created for them based on locked with designated models "editable regions" to give them access to.
  • So if Contribute is abandoned, how customers keep their site content?
  • If they subscribe to the MUSE of cloud, it will cost them a $15 / month extra. (as much as their accommodation costs!)

  Of the questions that I have not yet of answers for (since no one at Adobe seems to have a clue!)

  1. If I create the site with contribute CS6, customers will be able to change in the defined areas "editable" of their site using MUSE pages?
  2. Where will they host their site?
  3. A monthly subscription to MUSE includes accommodation? or is this yet another separate charge for hosting through Adobe Business Catalyst? and what is this handset cost?
  4. All these seems very cumbersome and not in the interests of my clients or to me as a web developer using Adobe Creative Suite products?  and finally...
  5. HOW can I get answers to my questions? (I spent 5 hours talking to staff support tech overseas with "Adobe" read from a script that cannot answer ALL these questions in total)

  1. no Muse is not a substitute for Contribute, Business Catalyst is what Adobe hopes to hold this role.  It is their hosted CMS solution.  I compare Muse what is in a logic of Photoshop.  It is for non-professionals to set up a Web site without coding.  It is not a content manager.

  You can try Dan-Isaac SD2HD workflow. I tried with some 480 x 720 SD footage and enhanced it to HD 1440 x 1080. I was really impressed; He remained remarkably crisp and clear. It certainly blows nothing first or After Effects can get out of the water (although the scale has been much improved in CS5).

  This workflow uses also completely free, open-source tools. But, it takes some time to get used to.

  1. download and install VirtualDub

  2 download and install Avisynth

  In the hd2sd_sd2hd.zip folder, there will be a file .txt with installation instructions. After everything is installed, create a new text document. Type sd2hd("SD_Master.avi") with SD_Master being the name of your file.   I use CS5 with Win8.1 and have no problem, but cannot comment on CS4 (you may need CS4 right click and select Windows XP mode in the options window)
