files between cs3 and cs5 compatibility

Hello

What are the issues of the compatilibity between Photoshop CS3 and CS5?  Can they be used together without much (if any) questions?

Thank you.

They can happily coexist on the same system, as long as you have the disk space.  Photoshop has always been like that.

You will be able to run one at a time, at a given moment, however.

About the compatibility of files, I did not how many it is necessary to open a file in Photoshop CS3, but the new version offers a preference setting "Maximize compatibility" to save the .psd files.  On occasion, I opened the .psd file in Photoshop CS3 saved by CS5 (using the parameter above) and I didn't know all the problems at all.

I have several files created in Fireworks CS3 that work very well. Fonts are all installed in the directory system on my Win7 box.  This used to be a WinXP Pro box.

I can load a file in Fireworks CS3 without a single question and text everything seems perfect. As it should.  Close the CS3 open CS5 and load the same file and CS5 tells me I must update my fonts.  Why?  Same system, the same fonts in the same font directory. Only thing that's changed, it's that I open the file (s) in CS5.

The fonts look the same in CS5.  I'll have to redo all the Fireworks CS3 files so that it looks correct in CS5? If so, why?

  • Difference between CS3 and CS4 when you place images, unguarded percentage

There is something of a difference between CS3 and CS4 when you place images. The images I'm dealing with right now were vector images, but it could apply to all sorts of images.

When you replace an existing image, the behavior of CS4 is to leave the image full frame. In CS3, the percentage was set at 100% as default (% see you when selecting the image, not the container).

Also when you replace an impage in CS4, the 'internal' picture frame is maintained, while in the C3, the percentage was limited.

Y at - it sort of investment preferences / settings leave CS4 same wat like CS3 did, when you place an image?

    -Andreas

If reliinking keeps the scale or dimensions is now a part of preference in CS4, if that helps.

You can play with this setting and do a few manual rebinding to see if something is appropriate. I'm not a script, but I think you can reset this preference as part of a script.

  • CS3 and CS5 on the same computer

I am currently using CS3 on Mac with Leopard, and I'm about to update to CS5.  I have read the discussions on the problems of compatibility between the two versions, so I would keep CS3 on my computer, even after the addition of CS5.  That would be a problem?

Also, I guess I've upgraded to Snow Leopard to run CS5, but which will then be expected to create problems when I need to work on older files in CS3?  Thanks for any advice.

No.... It is not a problem, but files INDD doublclicking automatically open them in CS5.

Check this out if it will be a problem for you: http://www.rorohiko.com/wordpress/downloads/lightning-brain-soxy/

  • Recent crash computer had to wipe HD-have Extd CS3 and CS5 upgrade Adobe disks acct shows only CS5 registration of origin. What should I do?

Had a recent computer breakdown and had to wipe the HD. I'm ready to recharge both my CS3 Extended so my CS5 upgrade disk drive then. However, in looking at my Adobe account it shows only my CS5, CS3 registration registration. What I do in this situation?

you just need to know your serial numbers cs5 and cs3 (and those that should be stored locally) and the installation of cs5 file.

  • Conflict of InDesign CS3 and CS5 installation

    Hello

We have Indesign CS3 installed and plan to upgrade to CS5. Is there a conflict by installing both version into one system? We want to keep the CS3 version.

    DennisM

Both versions can coexist on the machine of the CAs, and I highly recommend you keep CS3 available.

In addition, it is advisable to NEVER overwrite the version CS3 when convering CS5. There is no possible way to get a saved file CS5 to CS3 not CS4. Moreover, even if this isn't the norm, there are frequent reports of problems with the bad files conducted after the conversion of CS3 to CS5, I am now recommending export from CS3 .inx and opeing in CS5 instead of the .indd.

  • Can I move files between Vista and XP

    Hello

My pc has XP and my new laptop Toshiba Vista.
In the future I'll have to use work files from my pc to the Toshiba...
This will cause problems if I move between the 2 OS?

    Thank you

Why not. If you have installed the right software that is able to manage and to open these files on Vista and XP OS, then it should be possible to use the files of the work on the two operating systems.

I really serious reasons of t see why it shouldn't have been possible to manage these files using Vista and XP.

  • Sync Center will synchronize MS Office files between HDD and USB/SD removable media?

I use Windows Vista Ultimate SP 2 installed on a Dell laptop.  Can I use Sync Center to sync files between the HDD from the laptop and removable media USB/SD MS Office?

I ask because the option 'Always available offline' does not appear when I right click on any folder to removable media connected to the laptop.

    Hi Patrick,

You can synchronize files using Sync Center if you have a mobile device that supports this feature of Windows. However, Sync Center is designed primarily to synchronize files with a server on your network, rather than with a camera.

Sync Center does not synchronize with external drives and USB key.

  • Cannot move files between Mac and Windows

I'm Fusion 8.1.1 and OS X 10.11.5. I can no longer move files back and forth between Mac and Windows (7 x 32 or 7 x 34) while in a single window. In addition, the unit is not available (grayed out). I did a Windows Update for virtual machines two days ago and also a recent update of OS X 10.11.4 to 10.11.5 so I don't know if that's the problem. Everything seems to work another Mac running Fusion 8.0.2 OS x 10.11.5. Do not remember if I've recently updated Windows because the dates are meaningless to me.

Advice as to why it happens? In the meantime, I'll try to recover a backup of virtual machine before my recent Windows upgrade.

    Tony

The fixed! I reinstalled VMware Tools on the W7x32 and W7x64 VMs and found unity and two-way drag and drop. I do not uninstall, just ran Virtual Machine > install VMware Tools in the menu bar. There was no option to reinstall VMware Tools, so I guess that the corrupted Windows VMware Tools update that was there before the update of Windows.

  • Problem with the help of Adobe Premiere Pro *.prproj files between PC and MAC?

Hi, I have finally got myself a MAC with a grunt to replace my PC and installed first Pro CC of the cloud on the Mac.

I copied the files on my PC, but when I try to open the first Pro CC (*.prproj files) I get the following error:

"This project has been saved in a newer version of Adobe Premiere Pro and cannot be opened in this version"

I don't understand, like the MAC and PC versions of first Pro CC have been downloaded from the cloud to Adobe.

    Can anyone offer advice please?

    Hi, Ashton,.

There is no problem of incompatibility between Mac and PC files (files .prproj) project

In your case, it is not updated to the version of Premiere Pro that is installed on your Mac. If the creative application cloud shows first as update, try updates to help Premiere Pro > updates... Menu.

FYI: You should have first installed 2014.2 Pro BUILD 8.2.0 (65)

    Thank you

  • A question about a difference between CS3 and CS6 (sorry if this is a mistake addressed)

When placed in InDesign (CS3 and CS6) a transparent tif (CMYK) image, there is a difference between those who are created in Photoshop CS3 (correct) and CS6 (white background). Why?

Ask in the forum ID and provide all the necessary information such as profiles of colors used layer styles, TIFF, saving options and so on.

  • You can run Photoshop CS3 and CS5 on the same system?

I've done it before on another system where I had CS2 and CS3 installed and I could run either version, when I wanted.  At the time I have just never bothered to uninstall CS2.

Now on this system, I'm tunning CS3 and I have some plug-ins that I use regularly and that are not compatible with CS5 and I'm not throwing new money for them.  So I wish I could install CS5 and especially use it but when I need to use the plug ins and then just switch to CS3.

I noticed that a lot of programs does not these days on top another version.  So is there a reason that I won't be able to run them both?

Altogether.  All versions of Photoshop can coexist at the same time, even if you can only run one at a time.

It is usual to not install the older version, until you don't know than new not work very well.  If you have the space, never uninstall.  It is convenient to have around to answer questions, here for example.
