  Photoshop uses OpenGL to some things that are not so you turn it off, but most of the time Photoshop works perfectly.  You will miss things include:

  • ALT-right click and drag the mouse to change the size of Brush/hardness show you a preview of your brush size/toughness, just an overview.
  • Good zoom and pan.
  • Some of the extended edition 3D features.
  • Some improvements in performance on the screen.

  Adobe has done a great job to do almost all work Photoshop well without OpenGL, but I encourage you to visit the following site and download the latest video drivers for your card.  We can clear up all the problems of Photoshop and, possibly, others you don't know that you still have.

  I am currently on CS5 and upgrading my Mac to OSX 10.7.4 (Lion) in June. I have used PS daily with no dramas, but Wednesday PS has stopped working and was crashing whenever I open a jpg file or even started a new document.

  I uninstalled CS5 and reinstalled since my purchase of disc, done all the updates and the same thing happened.

  I repeated the process, and the same thing happens again.

  I tried to switch to 32 bit... same thing.

  I have run diagnostics on all 4 hard drives and all are ok and in good health.

  I allocated RAM 70% to ch 1470 MB

  Are there known issues with the PS5 and Lion?

  You're crashing on a bug into a routine of BONES associated with plist files.

  I suspect it's because of corruption in the file com.adobe.mediabrowser.plist (in ~/Library/Preferences), but it could also be in com.adobe.photoshop.plist.

  Try to screw up the mediabrowser.plist file (since it is safe) and see if that helps.

  If that doesn't fix it, then try to screw up the photoshop.plist file.

  The file alone is not enough to reproduce the error. If you choose 'Cancel' when the update links dialog box appears, the crash continue to experience? If this isn't the case, please discovers the active panel and look for the outdated links. (Click on the alert triangle icon in the column header to sort the active panel by State link.)

  Please send me the files for all the broken links so I can try to reproduce and isolate the cause of this error (both to fix it for a future release and to find a reliable solution for you). Thank you.

  P.S., The development team (including myself) is officially on leave until the 5th. So the response times are slower than usual, but I'll take a look at this once I have the files of components.

• New import feature is shitty and any new version of LR crashes whenever I open it

  I guess that's the ONLY way to Adobe.   So, if this is the case... the new import System... SUCKS Big time.  It takes three or four different attempts to reach the file appropriate to your player to get my uploaded images.  Please go back to the easy way to sellct where my images.

  As mentioned by Keith, yes we are aware of the current issues with the last update of Lightroom and are currently working on this issue.

  For now, I suggest you follow the steps below:

  • Go to the Lightroom preferences > General > uncheck 'show add photos screen '.
  • Lightroom preferences > Performance > uncheck "use the graphics processor.
  • Restart Lightroom, and check if you are able to import

• whenever I open a file, the computer will automatically create a shortcut in the same location.

  Suddenly, I realized that I had an abundance of shortcuts in each folder.  Shortcuts that I knew that I had not created.  As I paid more attention and also tested, I come to realize that whenever I open a file the computer created a shortcut to this file in the same folder location.  It matters not what type of file I opened, pdf, excel, word... I searched but I can't find if there is a setting where this can be disabled.  Another thought is that if this is some kind of virus.  I ran all the cleanings of my antivirus and malware, and they are.  Any input is greatly appreciated.

  I thought about it, my Adobe Drive application had passed, I had to uninstall Adobe Drive 4 and then install Adobe Drive 5 - then open it and click on updates. It will update then you can have the Player Adobe enabled in your handling prefs file.

  Try the list (you can keep 6) until you can load the cloud).

  The following is a general list of things, try when the question is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

  If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

  (1) close Illy and open again.

  (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

  (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

  4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

  5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

  Hello. I've had problems for more than five days to a week now with InDesign CS5.

  Photoshop and Illustrator work perfectly without any problems. But my InDesign will freeze everytime I try to open any file. Or if I try to create a new document. If I do not try to open a file or create a new document, I can customize the paddles and change other parts of the InDesign. It will freeze then if I try to open a new document file, or even trying to open a document in InDesign. Since the deadly Beachball (loading cursor) is in place, I have to manually force quit it.

  • I reinstalled the InDesign CS5 three times - all came out as the same result.
  • Adobe Support Advisor has detected no problems with InDesign when I have to force it quit.
  • I've updated all the CS5 with the Application Manager.
  • Download SC.5 leave the Web site and thereby Download Assistant has "failed to initialize" when you try to install it.

  Is there a reason why InDesign freezes all the time whenever I try to open it? Help would be nice.

  What I actually did with the help of a friend, they took to SINGING it. InDesign Plugin and told me I have to do the same thing - I did, and everything works completely fine again! [But thanks a lot for the help, anyway:]
