• Why can I not see the emails of the search results in the files in offline mode?

  When you perform a search in Thunderbird, if the result is in a folder offline, clicking on that result to view the entire email will show nothing. This "bug" has been present for as many years as I use Thunderbird (a very long time).

  1 create a folder offline.
  2. drag a bunch of emails from a direct IMAP folder to your folder in offline mode.
  3. perform a search that will give you results from this folder in offline mode.

  You will be presented with a list of snippets of email, but no result that resides in a folder in offline mode will be completely empty when you click it. The conversation list and the content of the email will be empty.

• Offline files indexed are not displayed in search results

  I've recently updated my PC and now have Windows 7. I want to be able to search for files on a PC on a network (Windows XP).

  I set the folders as "always available offline" and rebuilt the index, but when I search the offline files do not appear in the results.

  I did the same configuration on another new PC on my network and research shows the offline files. So, I don't think that there is a problem with the settings on the XP PC.

• Help files not available in the offline Help system

  Living in the United Kingdom and have BT (British Telecom) as my ISP, it is not at all unusual for my broadband to be disconnected to 75% of the time.

  Earlier today my broadband was again downwards and therefore when I clicked on the Dreamweaver Help system, no help was available.

  The ability to use the offline Help files has not helped much either.

  I use CS5.5 and I can see the offline help that was available in all the other versions (up to CS4) does not exist.

  Click on help/edit/preferences and it seems that you must download the files yourself, so I had to do.

  First that I logged in - which worked.

  On the general tab, make sure "Display Local Help content only" is not selected.

  In the Preferences menu, click Download Preferences and check the boxes next to the items you want to download.

  Then, go to the Updater settings and click 'Manually update my content stored locally using' t, then click on manage now.

  No downloads are available as shown above.

  Back to the Help menu - a message appears - to access or download help, connect to Internet or deselect the "Display Help content Local only" option in preferences.

  I am connected to the Internet and view Local Help is not checked. Nothing! Earlier, I arrived at this point and closed and restarted Dreamweaver with exactly the same result.

  What is the point of a help offline system that is not available for download.

  I did a search on Google and found a post that is supposed to affect people in Croatia or China or some other land away and was able to download a pdf help file. However, it is not good enough. I don't have to load a pdf file when it is supposed to be a support system built into the product offline. Or at least there should be way to aq of binder in the system.

  A search of the line on the help files revealed nothing help on offline Help files.

  Can someone enlighten me?

  Persistence is paying off. Seems that it is not possible to implement offline files in a program now, but it is possible to program from Adobe.

  Point 9 is optional I think - but I'll see. Currenlty I help offline in most programs and he has to say when there is an update available.

  I have found the answer when checking Acrobat X for help - even in this case, the solution seems a bit obscure.

  Can anyone help me please with a problem that has me pulling my hair right now. I googled extensively and had no joy. My Indesign Scripting experience is pretty weak, but I spend a lot of time in VBA and PHP then coding and objects are not foreign to me.

  I'm modyfing the existing (and excellent) script to cover my needs. I need to find each instance of a paragraph style, then use the page number and the text to build a content page later. The original script achieved via an index, but it is not convinient for me in this case that I need to first make a change more.

  I successfully converted the original script to search all text that has a special paragraph on her style. I'm so succsefully entering the text. I just can't do, is to enter the number of the search result page. I understand that I probably need to look at the parent page of tags, but I don't see how. If there is no help, the paragraph style is likely to be nested within two or three tags embedded in a text box.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• My Google search results screen is suddenly very small in Firefox 35.0.1

  When I've upgraded to this version of Firefox, my default search engine has become Yahoo. I then used your directions to move to Google, but the display of results on Google are extremely low, while other search engines results remain at normal size.   Thank you both for responding. I am aware of the functionality of Zoom, but not the non-strabisme that I'll add to my toolbar.

  Zoom was not the way I wanted to go because I didn't want to change how other Web sites appears. And did not constantly be buzzing in and out.

  However, in the meantime, the problem disappeared. Not sure why it happened and why it disappeared, but for now it works correctly and all right.

  This happens only in Google or you have noticed other web pages? Most of these issues could be due to some changes in configuration or plugins.

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

  • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

    

    click Help

    

    then select restart with disabled modules.

  If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

  • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.

  When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

  

  If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

  To exit safe mode of Firefox, exit Firefox (not just close the window) and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

  When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

• How to get rid of the software malicious www1.search - result

  This malware redirects Firefox Google searches to a limited set of trade data and other questionable sites. It is not a problem with Internet Explorer, but I need Firefox because of Zotero. Analysis of standard security software (Sophos) detects no problem, and reset Firefox did not help. Search the Internet for possible solutions suggests looking for www1.search - results via the control panel and uninstalling did not help because the program has not been listed. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

  Just to understand what you see:

  • you are on the legitimate Google site, you click on a result, and it takes you to an unexpected site?
  • you are on the legitimate site to Google and content additional/inauthentic is injected into the results page?
  • You cannot use Google because you are diverted to another site?

  In Firefox, could check you your connection here:

  "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > tab mini network > button "settings".

  The default setting "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE 'LAN' settings, but you can also try the 'no proxy' to see if that helps.

  Any change?

  Malware often masquerades as an innocent name, or is protected by other installed programs at the same time. I suggest therefore return to control panel, uninstall a program, for a second look. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group additions by date. This can help the build-up of undisclosed items bundle or other programs of mystery who snuck with some software that you have agreed to install. Out as much garbage as possible here.

• Vertical spacing of search results display page has expanded without any manual changes having been filed; None of these changes took place in Google Chrome or IE8.

  The result of the problem is that I can't see as much of a page of search results as previously. The change came as a result of an upgrade of Firefox version.

  Sorry for the delay in responding. I had one of these manifestations of the dreaded "blue screen" this morning and have been engaged in rescue operations since then. These included a couple of successful procedures, a Malwarebytes scan troubleshooting Windows and a race of CCleaner. I noticed that the condition that I pointed out in the view of Firefox search results page has subsequently rectified itself as easily and inexplicably as it to materialize yesterday!

  I'll watch points, of course, in the next days and weeks, but everything now seems to be back to norma for the moment. A big thank you to all who have tried to help with this.
