  Hello

  I scanned a drawing that I place on it's own layer from the office, he was directly drawn, expanded and consolidated.

  When I select to move it, either using the arrow keys or the transformation/move command, I get a message that I've ever seen before "cannot move the objects. "The requested transformation would make some objects fall completely the drawing area.

  Could someone explain what it means?

  Occurs usually when you have a wandering point or a selected guide. Zoom out all the way. You have something that is going to the grey area (outside the mount table) completely.

  I know that this is not a 'new' error message, but I never got on the previous versions of Illustrator. I just upgraded to CS 4 and get it now on almost all files when I try to move an object in any direction. Not that it matters, but these are files that were created in previous versions of Illustrator and I never had this problem. I followed the instructions of similar positions without success. I zoomed way toward the edge of the art Council: there is no hidden layers, objects or guidelines, no persistent points of the guidelines are erased, or objects of any kind anywhere near the edge of the box art (which, I know it, is huge compared to the size of my working paper of 11 x 17)

  In addition, on occasion, when I CAN move an object (usually a JPG or PDF image that I placed in the document), the image disappears. I think it is always 'there' even if I'm not. Any suggestions?

  Is it possible that your keyboard Increments area struck a giant number? Check under general preferences. (removal of preferences would also reset it)

  Also, to double check - when you zoom in completely to where you can see the limits of the editing table (so you're zoomed out to like 5% or something like that) UNlock all United Nationshide all and select all, is your framework of selection within your page?

  Very frustrating. Someone knows how to fix this? I reset all my settings and it's always the case. If I click in the exact Center of the object, I can click and drag as usual, however clicking anywhere else on the subject do not select or move the object.

  Take a look if in preferences > selection & anchor display the "Object selection by path only" option is checked.

  Step 1:

  Equal to true, the definition of the hasSelectedArtwork layer property is a fun thing to select the entire document on a layer, you've just got to make sure to disable any other settings first.

  Chances are that the image is the same size as the document. You can either add Web Image > canvas... size , use the crop tool and do drag outwards to create more space, or reduce the size of the image ctrl-t or command-t then scale the image inward.

  My guess is that the item is grouped and you are inside the publishing group? For some reason any in this case you cannot move the points in this way.

  Separate the Group and try again. Sorry that's the only answer I know.

  I'm in the middle of a picture and all of a sudden all the objects on a layer are framed in red.  These aren't the stroke, but rather it is as if I am the display mode overview and overview at the same time.  I searched the forums, but I can't find anything that looks like what I see.

• Can I move all the objects again selected layer without clicking hundreds of layer bars?

  I'm working on a complex illustrator file generated by GIS software. He gave me all kinds of groups of clip & road clip - what I really need, it's just to put all the same coloured polygons on the layer of a high level (unfortunately I can't draw all of my polygons in a group because illustrator doesn't pull these objects out of their existing clipping groups, and the card gets screwed completely upward if I release the clipping masks. With simple cards I have no problem Direct by selecting all of the polygons, I want, selecting their layers in the layers panel, then moving them to a new layer. This card is too complex, because there are hundreds of objects and hundreds of corresponding layers (they are not contiguous, or else I could simply click can be done with it).

  
  

  I used select > same > fill type to select all the polygons, I want that on a single layer, but I really hope that I don't have to select all the layers for each item one by one before I can move them to a new higher level layer. Does anyone know if there is a way to moving all the objects in a new layer selected without having to actually click all the layers in the Panel? Completely open to the alternative routes to my desired result!

  Of course, after making the selection drag selection (to the right of the layer) icon on the desired layer. This will move any selected layer to the new layer.
