  The first thing to do is to download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor--> http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=20

  If your hardware and your applications are compatible with Windows 7 (and there are drivers available for your hardware devices) then you can buy a copy of Windows 7 and install it.  You will have to do what Microsoft calls a "custom installation" which is a facility clean Windows 7 in force and which is to format your hard drive.

  Thus, you must first save all your data (files, documents, music, photos, etc.) on another medium (the best is an external hard drive), and then import this into the computer after the installation of Windows 7.  Microsoft is a tool for this called Windows Easy Transfer, but you can use any method you like.

  Also, you must reinstall all of your applications from their original installation media.  If any of these applications has been downloaded, you'll need a copy of the downloaded installation package or a way to re - download.  You must also make sure that you have all your license keys.

  If you go ahead with this, one thing you need to do before your existing XP installation is more usable is to download and run Belarc Advisor (free).  Belarc is mainly intended to let you know if your security patches are up-to-date, it also gives you a list of license keys for a large part of your installed software.

  PS: Don't waste your time with Vista.  If you can not go to Windows 7, stick with XP.

  If this is the case, I think that it is perhaps a good idea to uninstall Dreamweaver. Before you reinstall, make sure that your personal configuration file has been deleted (see reinstalling Dreamweaver (or the extensions Manager) fails to solve problems).   Meanwhile, I solved the problem as follows: I searched "dreamweaver" everywhere one deleted all that I could find. Then I googled "CS6" and did the same. I guess that there are around 20 or more places where I deleted files or directories. Suddenly, installation has not prevented, to 2%, what he has always done before and the installation was a success :-) It cost me more than 4 hours to understand this, and I have found a trick somewhere really help. Adobe itself I could not contact because I couldn't find an email address or a phone number - poor support for such expensive software. For luck, I didn't deliver something just in time. Missing a useful support, it's an attitude really poor, poor Adobe... I think that I do not buy not more products Adobe - it could cost too much of my time... :-(

  After you have installed the CS5, CS6 and CS5.5, CC is not a problem. They are separate installs.

  Projects of CS5--> CS5.5--> CS6--> CC is not a problem.

  It is not possible to move CC--> CS6 projects.

  CS6--> CS5.5 mobile projects can be problematic.

  You cannot update the 32-bit to 64-bit Win Win!
  You must do a clean install of Win 64 bit file to use it.

  Your model is eligible? You can install El Capitan now. There is no disk installer for use with OS X since the release of Snow Leopard. Why do you believe that El Capitan will bring your computer to a crawl, but the Mavericks will not?

  If I were you I would stick with Snow Leopard, because it is more suitable for your old hardware. Note that Snow Leopard is needed in order to upgrade to Lion or later version.

  There are some instructions step by step on the site, but basically you check out the file "update.zip" download, copy to the root of a FAT32 formatted microSD card, then start in recovery mode (press one of the volume buttons [which it depends if you are landscape or portrait mode] and hold, then the power press and hold). From there, you can choose to update in the zip file it finds on the map.

  It is important before you have the correct version of the update, it's different for different regions of the world, and you will not be able to upgrade the (for example) Brazil version from the US site.

  Windows 10 is NOT a free upgrade from Vista; It's onlt free of Windows 7 and 8.1.

  The easiest way to back up your Photos, etc., is to click with the right button on the folder > crushed cursor send to > have a USB Flash drive or a hard drive plugged > copy the files to that.

  If you follow the Microsoft Vista backup process, you will have problems by copying them on later operating systems.
