Mass storage device USB are most recognized

Hello! I use Cavalry 1 TB drive external HARD for a year now.

It was working fine until what a week ago it stopped working all of a sudden.

I can see the lights are on on the device, I can hear the disc rotation, but my computer will not recognize it.

I tried it on 5 different computers, and I'm sure that's not for lack of USB.

When I try to give him a letter via using the tool administration and management of the computer, it says

the disk2: is unknown, not initialized, when I try to boot, I get an error message saying Virtual Disk Manager: incorrect function.

I tried to reinstall the drives USB and all the stuff that I met while I was looking for forums.

Can someone help me with this problem please?

At this point, I think it's rather physical HARD drive is defective... but guarantees that the data losses are not covered by the company if I'm afraid to use the solution from the manufacturer. If I can't make it work, it's good, but at least I need to know how to get

the backup data.

Thank you.

Try this 1:

Restore point:

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

If the Hd has failed, only we can advise you on the normal methods to retrieve data, and involving the system recognizing the HD in a box.

Or using Knoppix as a possible solution:

Knoppix Live CD to recover your data:

http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
Download the Vista software from the link above.
After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
See you soon.
    You have not said if the drive is formatted.
    Hard drives, which are main storage on your computer, need to be formatted before using them. Formatting a disk means configuring the disk with a file system so that Windows can store information on the disk. Already the format of hard disks in new computers running Windows. If you buy an additional hard drive to increase the storage of your computer, you may need to format.
    The Code 10 error code is generated when the Device Manager has not enough information or error that spread upwards by device drivers is not recognized by Device Manager. In addition, this error may occur if one of the pilots who needs the unit does not start. If multiple drivers are used by a particular device, it can be difficult to determine which failed.
  • Problem ejecting USB Mass Storage Device [Unlocker doesn't work]
    Hey everybody,
    Just like everyone else, I get a pop-up message when trying to eject my external hard drive WD: "problem ejecting USB Mass Storage Device. Windows can't stop... "and so on." This does not work when I've only sailed on the disk, but it does, for example, when I made a mistake - check or make a backup. I already checked the forums, but unlike everyone else, third-party programs do not work for me.
    I did the following:
    -closed open task
    -disabled virus scanner
    -used Unlocker and Process Explorer, but he can't find any process that locks my drive. What happens here?
    -rebooted in safe mode
    -disabled indexing
    It makes me crazy that I have to restart whenever I want my drive to eject.
    Oh, and I use Windows 7.
    Can someone help me solve this problem?
    Hello
    (1) is limited to any specific USB device?
    (2) did you try to connect the device to a different USB port and check if you are facing a similar question?
    This problem may occur if there are handles open with all the files in the USB (Universal Serial Bus) mass storage device are in use by another program. Follow these methods and check if that helps.
    Method 1:
    I suggest you run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter to check if it helps.
    Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter
    Method 2:
    I suggest you to check and clean the boot if any third-party program is causing the problem.
    How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista and Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Warning: After you used the clean boot in order to solve your problem follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.
    Connecting and disconnecting USB devices:
    Most USB devices can be removed and disconnected at will. When you unplug the devices of storage, such as USB flash drives, you should be sure that the computer has finished saving all the information on the device before removing it. If the device has an activity light, wait a few seconds after the light has finished flashing before unplugging.
    If you see the icon remove the device safely in to the far right of the taskbar notification area, you can use this to ensure that devices have finished all operations in progress and are ready to remove. Click the icon and you will see a list of devices. Click the device you want to remove.
    You can use any USB port when you plug in a device you have installed beforehand. However, the first time you connect a device to a particular port, Windows will install the driver for this device again.
