CTRL + Alt + S shortcut in Windows 8.1 key

Hello

I am having some problems with ctrl + alt + s shortcut that shows my information system.

I want to cancel the shortcut because the other programs I use have the same shortcut.

I tried to locate the HP Support information (Pavilion) in the folder: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\HP help and Support. When I take a peek in this file there is no file called HP technical support information (Pavilion).

Is there another location where the file is located? Or y at - it another way without tools 3rd party to put an end to this shortcut?

I have a laptop HP Pavilion 17, f-000 series

Thank you for taking the time to consider my problem.

As it seems now, HP has no solution to this problem other than installing a proffesional or the windows ultimate 8.1 version and delete the shortcut in the Group Policy Editor, or delete all the shortcuts with a third-party program.

Edit:

To remove this shortcut simply reinstall the HP system event. I have reinstalled and my Ctrl + Alt + shortcut S is finished now.

Here is the link to the HP site where you can find the download: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-119454-1

Edit: Edit:

Solution is only temporary hard.

In response to my post from 08:13 today. Have tried various ways one seen on the web many points. It is a common problem caused by many things according to what I read on the web. So I took my laptop to PC World and they told me that the flashing is caused by Norton. Basically, a clash of downloads from Microsoft that was huge yesterday evening and Norton do not receive the patch of security right in place beforehand. I know the result when I pick up my laptop. If I was more computer savvy I couldn't do it myself. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

  • CTRL-Alt-2 moves to the second screen windows - how to disable

    Hello

I have a new computer to dual screen in Windows 8.  When I do Ctrl + Alt + 2, my current window is moved to the screen 2 (and equivalent to 1).  Does anyone know if it is a shortcut of Windows 8 or another utility?  I have a nVidia graphics card and the 7200LE Panel is not shortcut (besides the stereoscopic 3D features that are disabled).

The problem is that Windows seems to treat the key ALT GR (right Alt key for the keyboard layout of the French-Canada) as a combination of Ctrl + Alt, then when I press Alt Gr + 2 to type the symbol @, my window also moves to the second screen.  The equivalent problem is when I type the ± symbol (AltGr + 1 gives my character, and move the window), but this isn't as big a problem.

Anyway, if anyone knows how to disable the Ctrl + Alt + 2 sets of shortcuts, or how to make windows treat differently the keys Ctrl + Alt, AltGr do let me know.

    Thank you
    IM

I had the same problem, and in my case it was a third-party application that came with a USB to DVI adapter.

The utility is called "MCTDUtil.exe" and is in "\Program Files".

It has a visible icon called "Super Utility".  There, you have a menu called "Multi Display Control Panel".  The Ctrl-Alt-1 and Ctrl-Alt-2 are mapped to do exactly this: move the window being displayed 1 and 2 respectively.  You can disable the feature of this Panel.

I suspect that this utility is not necessary and can be removed.

  • CTRL-Alt-Del give Task Manager vs Windows Security

In the Windows XP computer, Ctrl-Alt-Delete displays the Windows security group, I can quickly and conveniently lock it the screen.  On another Windows XP computer, it brings up the Task Manager.  Bleah.  How can I change so that I get the Windows Security Committee?

IIRC, the difference in behavior for CTRL + ALT + DELETE depends on whether you have the screen of welcome (and with fast user switching).

You can also use Windows key + L to lock the computer.

    Hi DFiel,

As you say the problem appearing in the domain environment, your question is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited in the Windows XP Pro on the Technet Forums.

  • Login screen will not Ctrl + Alt + Del with on screen keyboard (OSK)

I have a Windows 7 Pro with a touchscreen monitor industrial machine (ok, actually I have 2). My intention is to use it without ever requiring a physical keyboard. It works perfectly, I've set the OSK up automatically on the screen what he does and I have absolutely zero problems with it. The other allows the OSK at startup, but when I Ctrl + Alt + Del does not save the delete key, any more than a certain number of other keys (pgup, pgdwn, home, esc, bksp, tab, insert, etc.). It's good to be something that I messed up, while the implementation, but I cannot for the life of me understand what I did and I absolutely need this feature. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Since the upgrade to ESX 4.1 4 CtrlAltFx on the virtual Linux/UNIX does not work!

    Is this a BUG?

Try the next step of http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006012. Also make sure the VMware tools and the VMhardware are updated.

"Press CTRL + ALT + space, press F1 (or) the function key while now always CTRL + ALT.

Press Ctrl & Alt keys and use the arrows to rotate back.

According to the graphics card on your computer, these can be alternatives.

Right click on the desktop | Graphics options | Rotation.

Right click on the desktop | Screen resolution | Orientation.

  • Keyboard combinations to open the shortcuts with CTRL + ALT + < letter or digit >

I like and use this function all day at work, as it works very well with my workflow.  However, the downside for me is that my office is too cluttered with shortcuts to programs and files that I never need to see because I will only use the keyboard combo to open.  Yet, if I put one of the shortcuts within a folder on the desktop, the combo keyboard no longer works...

At home I use fences and shortcuts still work and I really like it.  Unfortunately, the fences is not supported by our IT Department and therefore cannot install it.  I need windows built in functionality.

Is there somewhere I can store all my shortcuts so that I should not watch all of them on my desktop but the keyboard shortcut (ctrl + alt +) will still work? Or any other feature where I can get the same result to a blank desktop but use the keyboard to open the files/programs?

    Thank you!

  • Shortcuts on the screen of welcome (Ctrl + Alt + Delete)

    Hi all

First of all, I hope this is the right subforum - otherwise, feel free to suggest better alternatives or move (Mods/Admins).

    So here's the deal:

My company has recently updated from XP Pro to Windows 7.

Since then, I had a big problem: I used to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open the Welcome screen (at least I was told it's called like that) and had a variety of shortcuts at hand to lock the computer, users of contactor, open Manager tasks etc.

On Win7, they seem to have disappeared - the buttons are still there and clickable, but just by pressing "T" will not open the task more for example Manager. (Pressing enter still works to lock the computer, but simply because it's the default selection).

I used these shortcuts a lot and would like to have them back.

Please do not try to suggest alternatives (Windows + L to lock, Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC key to taskmanager etc) - I know, but hate to use 5 different ones for simple tasks. I just want my old standards of return...

    See you soon,.

One or two of use is very confused,

    Enter to lock the computer?

    T for :) tasks Manager

Most people want a way to work around the home screen, but you had a three-way key to enter?

  • The shortcut Ctrl + Alt + C does not work in InDesign CS6.

The shortcut Ctrl + Alt + C does not work in InDesign CS6. I don't have an ATI video card, the shortcut key is not related to the center of catalyst.

I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 video card and I reinstalled Windows 7 x 64 three weeks ago. Since then, the shortcut Ctrl + Alt + C does not work.

I tried to reinstall the program. I tried to clean the preferences file. Yet, nothing is done. I googled if there other programs that could take the shortcut for themselves. The InDesign menu says that the Ctrl + Alt + C is linked to the action "was". But nothing happens.

If you have any suggestions on what do I do to fix this, please help.

P.S.: before the reinstall, everything works great.

But no. I think I thought it somehow.

I just reinstalled the CS6 InDesign from scratch, as stated in the above post. Just as new as possible. And he was always in trouble. Then I disabled the two automatic startup items:

Broadcom 802.11 Network adapter wireless Tray Applet

    and

    Driver Logitech SetPoint.

After that, everything is back to normal.

I guess that one of them had caught the hotkey without mentioning, so that should be the fault. I don't think that other programs (with the exception of Adobe) have the same key as InDesign links.

P.S.: Just restarted each disabled program and it's Broadcom 802.11 Network adapter Wireless Network Tray Applet that shows problems with the keys.

So, thanks for trying to help me solve my problem.

If anyone else has trouble with the keys and they have this specific bin running applet, better turn it off to be sure. In the Windows Task Manager, it is called C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WLTRAY. EXE.

  • I can't get the full window with tabs, or other controls. I have to use Ctrl-alt-delete to close the window.

After loading on KnightNews link, all the stuff missing header - box of Firefox, minimize button, remove the button and the only way out of the KnightNews was Ctrl-alt-delete. I now find that any time I use Firefox, I have the same problem. I deleted the program, reinstalled, did a restore of the system, all to nothing does not. When I click on Firefox to open it, the full window appears briefly, then the whole screen is filled with the opening page Firefox. By clicking on a program in the historic area brings up, but it's the same scenario - Ctrl-alt-delete is the only way out. I also was not able to open the troubleshooting information that was below on this page.
