CTRL + c ctrl + v questions

Hi all

possible is to define the alternative combinations of ctrl + c/ctrl + v?
(I'm copying / pasting a bunch of data and my little finger tells me to stop, tough...)
Best,
Sarah

Hello

There are other ways to copy and paste using just the mouse. Right click what you want to copy and then click on copy, right-click where you want to paste, and then click on paste. There are probably other options using the Edit menu also. For help specific to your situation, we need to know exactly what the 'heap of data' is, when you copy from and where you are copying to.

  • Tecra M10 - stuck - CTRL key question may be to do with the BIOS?

    Hello and thanks for reading.

I recently changed my Tecra M10 to Windows 7 (from XP), and it quickly developed the dreaded question-button stuck CTRL This causes the keyboard behaves as if the CTRL key is pressed continuously. Sometimes reaching a key combination, or bring up the on-screen keyboard, temporarily solves the problem, but he returned.

It seems to be a problem that many people have no simple solution. I watched each thread that I find and tried a lot of things to do with drivers etc without success.

So first of all, if anyone knows a remedy that works for this particular machine, I would be very grateful to hear!

Then, there are two things that I did not yet: updating the BIOS and turn off pinch zoom.

I was watching the following BIOS update:

    http://www.Toshiba-Asia.com/SG/support/drivers/details/25244

... which is the version 3.00 and seem to be more recent. My version is 1.90.

However, version 3.00 is labeled "for PTMB0 * ONLY. I don't know what that means or if it applies to me. Can anyone help? Should I install this BIOS?

For the pinch zoom, I was informed that disable sometimes cures the problem CTRL - but I can't find any installation zoom pinch on the M10. I think he doesn't have any one. Is this fair?

Thanks much for any help you can give.

    Hello

    > I was watching the next BIOS update. is the version 3.00, which seems to be most recent. My version is 1.90.

There are different Tecra M10 models on the market.
Check the labels at the bottom of the unit. There you should find numbers like for example PTMB0E-01K00LGR

The first 6 characters are important: for example PTMB0E

I guess that your laptop belongs to the series of Europeans.
In this case, you should check the page of the Toshiba UE driver for a possible update of the BIOS.
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

However, on the page of the Toshiba UE driver you will also find the BIOS for all European units Tecra M10 v3.0.

Anyway, back to Ctrl + button question: guess what, you need to connect an external USB keyboard and must check how is the CTRL key.
In case the USB keyboard would work properly, the internal keyboard CTRL key is assigned and you will need to replace the internal keyboard.

PS: it would be possible that the "sticky keys" option has been activated. To disable this feature, you must press SHIFT 5 times in the line.

  • Cannot receive login prompt on Windows 7 (Alt + Ctrl + delete question?)

    Hello

I had a recording of the show in an instance of VMWare running windows 7 using VMWare Player.  When I try to send Alt + Ctrl + delete using all known methods (button, menu drop-down option menu and Alt + Ctrl + insert).  When I click on these options, nothing happens.  Expected behavior is the password, quick to open it.

The instance is unlocked as I can click on the help button with the mouse on the screen 'Please hit Alt + Ctrl + delete' of Win7.  I know that the keyboard connects when I restart I get an option to secure the keyboard mode.  Safe mode has the same problem.  Alt + Ctrl + Del does nothing.

I even tried to recreate the instance of VMWare using version 7 of the converter (this corrects a problem for me in the past) and it has not fixed the problem.  I tried everything I can think of at the moment.  I appreciate any suggestions.  Thank you!

Edit by wila quit VMware Fusion® (for Mac) for VMware Player

    This solved my problem

Re: HELP my keyboard does not work in my virtual machine!

I had to uninstall lenovo drivers.  Once I did as soon as I uninstalled and reinstalled the PS2 driver on the vmware instance the driver loaded without error and the keyboard worked.

  • Flash player CS6 Stage3D and test (ctrl + enter) question

    Hi all

I just tested Stage3D in test player (ctrl + enter) and found that the video driver that is used for this - "Software (Embedded)" why? In Flash CS6 I can only test for AIR if I wan't to use the hardware rendering engine. This is a bug or what?

    1. Choose Edition--> keyboard shortcuts...

    2. at the top click the 'Duplicate Set' button to make a new profile of keyboard, name it what you like

    3. in the list, roll to the low control-> test the animation, select in Flash Professional

    4. click on the shortcuts [+] button, by clicking in the space provided below to reassign to a new key (for example, CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER)

    5. return to the list, roll down of debugging-> film debug, select in Flash Professional

    6. click on the button [+] shortcuts, by clicking in the box below and set it to CTRL + ENTER

Now CTRL + ENTER will always launch the debugger and give you what version you superimposed. Yes, it launching debugger display, but that shouldn't matter as normal display mode is restored when the film is closed, then debugger display is useful.

  • left-ctrl key of the laptop does not

    the right ctrl key works.
    When I press on the left-ctrl + C or V, I can't copy or paste.
Is the same for any function shortcut ctrl in question.
Is it same inconvenience and I hope someone can tell me the solution to this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

Try an external keyboard (USB).  If it works, your likely laptop keyboard must then be repaired or replaced.

  • Question CTRL on my Satellite L750

Hello! I have a new Toshiba Satellite L750. I use it mainly for MS office, including word and excel. I do a lot of copying and pasting the text, usingn ctrl-c and Ctrl + v.

I noticed the days when I do a lot of copy, all of a sudden, count it behaves as if the ctrl key is stuck. The keyboard is not working properly, so, for example if I type "c" it is not type the letter but rather fulfils the function, as if I pressed ctrl-c.

My mouse still works, so I can save and close. When I restart, the problem is temporarily resolved. This happens about once a day!

I called Toshiba support and the first two technicians had me restrat and rpess F9 to restore the settings. The third has said is a key to "sticky" and I need to send the computer in for repair. I am really reluctant to do!

Any thoughts or ideas? Thank you very much! Jennifer

In my opinion, everything is OK but maybe RAM is overloaded, resulting in this annoying problem.
    > When I reboot, the problem is temporarily resolved.
I think that there is evidence for my theory. With time the memory is going to be overloaded and the problem recurs.

To be honest, I do even all day but I n t have such problems. OK I n t copy a lot of things.

  • Why Ctrl + right arrow doesn't ignore the last word in a paragraph?

Just fossoyée Chrome and Firefox installed on Windows 10. Overall excellent experience with a complaint. When I write an e-mail, Ctrl + right arrow behaves as expected, except at the end of a paragraph when he jumps the last word and jump to the next paragraph. How to solve this problem? Safe mode did not fix anything. Thank you.

I can confirm that what is happening in the box to answer here. Correctly, the cursor moves to the beginning of the last word in a paragraph, but instead to respect the full stop at the end of the paragraph, it will jump to the word starting in the next paragraph.

In Word 2010 for example, the cursor stops before the last point of the paragraph. Even the notebook stops behind the last point.

CTRL + right arrow, Firefox ignores generally up to the first non-space character after next space. However, it ignores also up to the first non-space character after a hyphen or a sign (+) joining the two words.

Firefox and Word seem to work very differently in terms of punctuation: Word stops before the periods, commas, points of question marks, hyphens and signs more is not the case with Firefox. Firefox stops just after the apostrophes, is not the case of Word. Each program seems to have a very different definition of the border between the "words".

Thanks, both. We'll put it down to the vagaries of human nature. It's almost a deal breaker. Using Shift + Ctrl + right arrow to select and "Vault" on the last word in a paragraph is a workaround I can live with that.

  • Why is the update after a CTRL + T (new tab) on the search (instead of address bar) bar in newer versions?

I got all the 'browser.newtab*' in: config by default in my firefox (38.0.5) - (except "browser.newtabpage.enhanced" + "browser.newtabpage.introShown").

When you open a new tab using CTRL + T (on older versions of firefox) has been emphasis to the address bar - which made a lot more sense to me that you can immediately begin typing the URL. Since the last update (version 20 (Heisenbug) Fedora) emphasis is placed on the search bar, so when you type something I find myself looking from ' subject: newtab "page which is really annoying (another CTRL + L needs to first set the focus on where I expect it to be).

This change happened on purpose? If so - is there a way to go back tho old behavior?

Or is there sth wrong with my version of Firefox only and the default behavior is still ok?

    thx for the tips,
    Andare

See my response to this similar question.

In short, if you have the Tile tabs extension, either upgrade to the latest version (13.1) which is supposed to fix this or turn it off.

Let us know if that solve you your problem or not.

  • "Search" Firefox Ctrl-F function always starts with "Case-sensitive" automatically activated

If you don't have a user.js file, as I did not, then you can find this information in your profile folder prefs.js. To find this folder, click menu triple horizontal slash on Firefox button, then click the question mark at the bottom, then click "Troubleshooting information" and then click on "View file" next to the profile folder. At this point, you need to open the js file (prefs.js to me, maybe user.js for others) with Notepad.

The entry "accessibility.typeaheadfind.casesensitive" cor - el mentioned above must be just off the top, and if "Match case" is highlighted then it should have a '1' beside him. You will need to close Firefox, then change 1 to 0 and save. When you restart Firefox "Case-sensitive" must return to being disabled.

  • How to access the address bar via the BT keyboard? (ctrl-l does not work)

Having a whole bluetooth keyboard connected to my Android tablet, I can't really use it well with Firefox, as there is no way to reach the address bar using the keyboard. CTRL-L because it works on the desktop doesn't seem to work on Android tablet.

Is there a different key combination to achieve this, has she been neglected (as is normally not available on Android), or am I missing something obvious?

Are taken in charge for the keyboard shortcuts for entering text. However, you are right that the shortcuts such as ctrl + l do not work. We have an open question on this feature but do not have a precise timetable for its implementation.

  • Using Ctrl + F tool, type a letter then the browser starts to type the letters in the address bar, how do I do?

This just started happening. Whenever I you use Ctrl + f tool, I type a letter and then I start typing the following letters in the address bar. I have to click in the search box type each letter as it jumps to the address bar with all the letters of type I. It's very frustrating, please help.

It certainly isn't by design... In the case where one of your extensions is concerned, could test the search mode without failure of Firefox feature? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

    Any difference?

  • Position the tab in white: How can I make new tab (CTRL + T) opened on the left instead of the right-wing?

When I open a new tab (Virgin, leave a link), it opens on the far right of the tab bar. This does not work for me because when I open a new tab, I use it immediately, so I would be to appear adjacent to the tab I'm currently using. I've scoured the forums and support without finding a way to change the position of new tabs.

NOTE: When I say 'new tab', I'm average NEW tabs - the kind that contains the new tab page, created using CTRL + T, or file-> new tab not tabs opened from links. I am stressing this point because I found a lot of questions and answers on how to make links open in a new tab open on the far right, or next to the active tab by changing the value in browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent in all: config.

The Tab Mix Plus extension seems to have this feature, pictured in the screen shot here: http://tmp.garyr.net/help/#Events_-_New_Tabs

  • Magic of Apple external keyboard, not ctrl alt del

    Hi all

I have an old MacBook Pro (2011) and recently I build a small office area at home where I connect my laptop to a bigger screen and use the mouse Magic Mouse from Apple, as well as the new keyboard of magic.

In OS X, everything works as expected, but when I start Windows using boot camp on the external keyboard does not work properly.

It does not change the BACKSPACE to a delete key once you press fn. That much I'm already sure of since I tried a keycode scanner.

When I finally go through the logon screen using a work around with the keyboard on the screen, I noticed that none of the special keys like volume up/down or works of brightness - that's all simple F - keys.

I reinstalled Windows and asked to download the latest drivers for supported boot camp and it's always the same question.

Someone of you know the same behavior or is there maybe someone here with a solution?

    Thank you

    -Kim

    1. Please check Control Panel-> system-> keyboard to Boot Camp settings.

2 try using Fn + Ctrl + Alt + Delete on your keyboard Apple when you access Windows.

3 make sure you have the Apple keyboard driver installed in devices-> HID devices or devices-> keyboard.
