  I'm relatively new to Illustrator, so thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

  I have a logo I've created. This is simple text which I would like to place transparent cracks (and cracking ice). It seems to me (maybe I'm wrong) that the best way to achieve this would be to find a brush that looks like cracks and draw affects the brush on the logo and then use the pathfinder to "write off" these traces from brush.

  Can someone point me in the direction of some good crack for Illustrator brushes? I searched in Google, but have not met very many good.

  Also, if I'm a complete newb and there is a better way to do what I describe, I would be very happy that information as well.

  In fact the part circle of your example is just a unique, path path, so we really don't know what you want in terms of "parallel curve."

  In any case, a specific way to get parallel lines of any kind is using delay of path.

  This really isn't an appropriate use of Acrobat. You should all use the same editing tool (i.e. Illustrator).

  If the brush has been registered with gray pixels you get transparency in these places when you paint with it, simple as that. Or re-create the brush, according to brush in question, use the airbrush from the Options bar, and then click on and hold until the stroke of the brush is completely opaque black.

  You cannot use Photoshop Brushes in Illustrator.

  Photoshop brushes are raster images that you "paint" in other raster images. Illustrator do not edit raster images.

  Illustrator brushes are quite different. In general, they are vector illustrations that gets stretched or scattered along a vector path.

• White no elements out of the digital press in the PDF created by Illustrator

  I created just a simple map of visit with white and CMYK elements colored on top a black (100-100-100-100 dictated by my store of digital press) background. Search and print well turned off my desktop check printer; then the output via a PDF created by Illustrator digital press, however, NONE of the strong white print and others have a white outline, but no white fill. The white guy, however, works.

  And we did a separate Illustrator layer merged file, transparency has become white. This no longer works.

  It seems that you have put white fillings to overprint that is only useful in some cases with some effects.

  A common problem, check the white fillings and turn on overprint preview to confirm that you have successfully deleted all overprint attributes.

  Oh, Yes, you set and disable the overprint in the Panel.

  There is a script to automatically remove white overprints.
