Cannot open Excel 97

I was unable to open Word and Excel.  Called Tech services at Bell and they set 200 compromised files.  After 4 hours, I was able to open Word and everything seems to be fine except for Excel.  They asked me to call Microsoft and gave me your number.

When I click on the Excel 97 icon, a dialog box appears indicating the suspected areas, Excel opens, then a second dialog box is displayed indicating not enough problem to have malware.  Then Excel closes and I can't use it. Now place comes a screen linking 1 when I click on Excel.

This is a user to user forum, so MS is not too likely to see your message. Looks like you had a form of malware attack and continue to suffer from the after effects.  I won't start in Mode safe and search for viruses, then uninstall Excel and reinstall.  To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode.

By the way that Office 97 is a very old version (it came out about 15 years ago), so I expect that it will be difficult to find support for it.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones cannot open Excel xlsm attachments of the Hub

When I try and open the hub Excel xlsm files, I get the following error message:

"No observer available for 'filename.xlsm'. Download a Google Reader app to display the attachment.

I know that leaves can open the file because I can open it my onedrive using leaves. I tried to save the attachment for the PRIV and then try to open it but I get the same error. Without doubt, I was able to download another app like Docs to go, but I don't want to do because we have a fleet of 100 PRIVs and I want a solution that does not receive a new application for all my users. Especially when I know leaves can open the file with no problem.

I tried to go into the settings of application for sheets, but of course there is no way actually associate .xlsm (or any extension of specific file) manually. All I can do is "Clear Defaults" that does nothing.

I also discovered that if I send the exact same attachment to my gmail account and open it with gmail on PRIV icon, the attachment opens fine.

Another thing I learned during troubleshooting is if I save the file to the workstation account or my hotmail account in the download on the PRIVATE folder, then try and open the download icon he will say 'cannot open file'. However, if I save my OneDrive downloads and then try and open it from the download icon will be

offer open the file with 3 different applications (RSA, import and Lexmark Print Service), but it does not offer the choice of the leaves.

Finally, if I open the file to my Gmail, make a small change to the file (I typed test in one of the cells) and then save it in downloads, I then open it downloads.

Certainly a few funky Android issues going on here. I find it very odd that the same exact file name will try to open differently from the downloads icon based on which application saved in this folder it. My brain focused on Windows has trouble understanding why an OS behave like that!

Other information that may or may not apply to:

-Several months when I was still on 5 Android (I'm now on 6) I was able to open my hotmail account .xlsm attachment in the hub, but not my work account in the hub. It's the excact same email simply sent to my e-mail from work to my hotmail account and I could open the attachment does but not the other.

-J' was also able to save the file to my PRIVATE and open it. This is no longer the case. Now when I try and open the file from the "downloads" folder/app, it says: "cannot open file."

Anyone have any ideas other than download a new application?

    See you soon,.

After working with the support of Blackberry, they have achknowledged behavior is constant in the devices and the problem of development has intensified. They say a future update will solve the problem and allow the Hub to open xlsm files. In the meantime, the best solution I found is to save all the xlsm files in your download folder and then open them using ES Explorer Google game store. He is smart enough to open them with leaves.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Documents to Go - cannot open Excel attachments

I've updated to the premium version of DTG for Blackberry.  It is supposed to open attachments both Word and Excel.  When I tried to open an Excel attachment, he said "this type of attachment cannot be seen on the device.  I sent two accessories of different words, both created with the same version of Word and both about the same size; DTG gave me the same error message as above for one, but open to the other without problem. The DataViz tech support site just takes back me to the RIM, and I can't find a solution on the RIM site.  What should I do?

I just found the solution - I had to add the suffixes doc and xls to my document titles.  After that it worked fine.

  • cannot open excel file 2009

    Hello

Recently, I upgraded my machine to LabVIEW 2009.  I had already created a file of sequence that were running on LabVIEW 8.5.

However when I run on LabVIEW 2009, it fails to open an excel template that I use to store the results.  In fact I can't open an excel worksheet by using the standard vi.

What seems to be the case, is that once the progresses of VI to the Subvi Excel_Open_Workbook.vi error occurs.  The error occurs after the node to invoke, see image attached and appears as follows

Error-2147352573 to the Member not found.
    in NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Excel_Open_Workbook.vi-> NI_Excel.lvclass:new report subVI.vi-> NI_report.lvclass:New Report.vi-> demo.vi

This error code is not set. No one has provided a description for this code, or you could have wired a number which is not an admission of error code error code.

Anyone know how I can fix this error? Is it possible to reinstall maybe the generation VI excel? Is this a known issue with labVIEW 2009?

    Hi SeanJ

What version of the report generation tool do you use?  The latest version (1.1.4) requires the use of Microsoft Office 2007/2003/XP according to the Readme.  This seems to be one of the limitations associated with the earlier version of Excel. You have a Toolkit of Gen report incompatible with the version of Mircosoft office you use. Make sure that the version you have is compatible with Excel.

After installing the system of development of LV on your computer, the problem could be that some methods of ActiveX have been disconnected. If you re - point nodes to call the appropriate ActiveX methods, this should solve your problem.

  • Cannot create Excel to pdf files in Adobe Pro XI

I have lots to create pdf files in Adobe Pro XI every two weeks.  Two weeks ago, I was unable to do more.  It seems that Adobe cannot open Excel or something.  I go to file/create/batch create multiple files.  I add files and select the directory to put them.  I get "unexpected error has occurred.  PDFMaker was able to produce the PDF from Adobe. "I fixed Adobe Adobe and inside Control Panel, uninstalled then reinstalled Adobe, checked the items disabled in Excel and unchecked and rechecked Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin in Excel.  I am still unable to create even a single pdf file from Adobe.  I'll have to open each file separately in Excel and convert them to PDF format it.  Any help is appreciated.

I found the answer.  I was able to create files in Word that made me believe that the problem was with Excel and not Adobe.  I did a repair of Excel, and all is well.

  • Cannot open an Excel macros.

    Original title: opening Excel Doc.

I try to open an Excel doc. I offer myself to enable or disable macros. I tried both and for each, I have been informed that there are errors in some modules, and when you ask the system to continue opening the document, it finally very briefly (1 second) opens and then closes. Others seem to be able to open the doc. I use AVG Internet Security.

Ask in the forum Excel for your version of Excel (select the drop-down 'Version of Office' version).

Include your version of Office in the body of your question, but also the full text of the error messages without paraphrase.

Probably, you should also include the version of Windows you have, including the service pack (right click on desktop and select properties for info).

  • Help! MicrosoftOffice 2011 cannot open the files after the recent update

After the recent update (security 2015-006, Mac OS 10.10.5, Yosemite), I can longer open all files in Microsoft Excel or Word.

When I tried to open the files in the "Open recent" list, Excel reports "Excel cannot open the workbook. The file name or path contains invalid characters (for example, /). "Same error message appears when I go into the folder and open the file in Excel.

When I tried to open an existing file of the word, he pointed out that "this is not a valid file name.

PS: Please do not suggest you use everything as your other favorite programs.

Click the folder just below the recent and see if documents are on my Mac. Additionally, click on a reader-Documents-then the file name and see if the same thing happens. I downloaded the update of security on the App Store and have no problem. Also, in your menu bar, go to help in the Office applications and updates. An Office 2016 update was released last Friday, December 11.

It has nothing to do with what version of Windows you are using. He
has to do with which version of Word you are using (or if you)
    have installed the compatibility pack).

The .docx format is the default format used by Word 2007 and 2010.
Since you are using Word 2003, you can't natively read .docx
    files.

There are two possible solutions to your problem:

    1. ask your correspondent to refer the file to the old .doc format. He
can do this by choosing Save as, rather than save.

2 download and install the free "Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack
for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats"to

  • Microsoft cannot open or save documents more because there is not enough disk space or memory

Using the Chrome browser in Windows 10 attachments to emails sent to my Gmail account are not available. The error message is the same mentioned in the first request:

"Microsoft Excel cannot open or save all the documents more because there is not enough disk space or memory.

The solution is simple - it's just a stupid error message that has nothing to do with the real problem, and the problem is actually a feature of microsoft, is also often:
-office now has a kind of function 'protected mode', which prevents the office applications to do things under certain conditions.
-One of them is to stop excel from opening attachments from outlook :-(

Go to options Excel, the Privacy Center, settings and uncheck all options on "protected from view.

Save and voila, suddenly excel can open all the files and has absolutely no problem with your GB of free memory.

Thanks to the brilliant mind who has designed such an awkward feature with the awkward error messages and options ultra deep to clear - and of course no simple help.
