Customize blackBerry Smartphones?
I'm trying to find the settings to customize the appearance of my BB.
for example, it is default blue highlight for any selected item or text. This can be changed? and if so, how?
also, I was going through the pages of advice on this site and sounded well, one having one less row of buttons on the home screen.
but instructions must be for some other phone other than the storm [even if the page has stated that it IS for the storm] because no instructions of instructions exist, if you understand my meaning here... the 'options' button did not get one of the items listed that it specifies.
also, is it possible to send somewhere bug reports about problems with the blackberry Desktop Manager? This program needs serious fixing
Thank you
Aurore.
Looking at all the buttons, select the (highlighted) and double click on the blackberry button, allowing you to move the button. Repeat as be, when it moves only the selected button, not replace one with the other. First line is the first line of the home screen.
BTW if you just click the BB button once, you will see the full menu of move available such choices that move to a folder, add a folder and hide.

BlackBerry Smartphones BLACKBERRY 9320 CONTACTS
Good evening
I got Blackberry my wife because she has updated to a 9720.
My problem is that when I go to contacts, it reflects his old contacts as well as mine and I just cannot remove their contact list.
I went into the installation ID and ander, only my username appears. This applies to customization and synchronization as well.
Help, please!
Hello and welcome to the community!
Please consider this as a buy/sell transaction and complete everything in this KB:
- KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone
How intermingled, it became, it is quite likely that one of you will have to wipe and rebuild EVERYTHING from scratch, while the other will simply remove the unnecessary data that came from the other.
Good luck!

BlackBerry Smartphones active new SIM - now phone SOS only
Hi all. Have a little problem. I had to go back to an old 9700 When my current iPhone broke. I needed a new card SIM from the iPhone using a different card. When I called Rogers to activate the SIM everything was fine for about a minute. I received texts that were pending since Sunday when my iPhone broke. I had full bars etc. Once a minute, he went to SOS only. While I was on the phone with Rogers Tech Support I have reset and removed the battery and SIM and all the things they wanted me to. Everything looks good on their system, he said that the problem must be with the device.
A bit on the device:
Originally with Mobilicity in 2009. Opened and used with the wind. My father then used with Rogers and Fido. Since Sunday, when my phone broke, I used SIM card of my brother-in-law (he just swung at Rogers to the wind, but his plan has always been paid until the end of September) and the BB worked very well. If it worked correctly with a Rogers SIM.
Now, I get the same problem with my brother-brother SIM. SOS only. No connection. What happened when active Rogers SIM card must have done something to the camera itself because now it does not connect to any of them. That both SIMs work as I have tested both in my wife's phone.
The guy on the Support of Rogers suggested that perhaps the closed phone itself - but when I enter the settings advanced for the SIM card that everything is disabled in customization... so it appears not to be locked.
He said that I should try to reinstall the OS, but that it will block the phone and I need to unlocked again.
Is there anything else it could be? Will reinstall the OS relock the phone? Any other suggestions?
Thank you very much!

First this... avoid this tech Rogers like the plague. He has no idea what he's talking about. All what he told you is simply not possible. Once MEP unlocked, a BB device can blocked at the factory. Nothing of what you have done or the facilities of any OS can relock a BB.
I'd rather a complete security on the Device Wipe:
- KB14058 How to delete all data and applications in the smartphone BlackBerry using the security option wipe
Otherwise, a ResetToFactory WIPE:
- KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings
After each one, put it in the SIM card and switch on the device, and then make sure that the voice is through Rogers. Only then start to worry about getting all the data to work (if you subscribe BIS, in other words).
If you want to get off the OS Reload path, then the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):
(1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below. (not applicable in your situation)
2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,
(3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
(4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:
- If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
- C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.
6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:
- Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC.
If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.
You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.
You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:
- Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
- If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
- If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
- Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
- If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents
When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.
If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Unlocking blackBerry Smartphones 8830 World Edition GSM and code provider
Hello
I'm a guy unsavvy tech and have an 8830 World Edition phone. Bought this from Auntie Indicom (Vendor ID: 269), a CDMA operator which also provided a GSM SIM for only international roaming. Last month, number portability Mobile came into India, and I went to a GSM provider, Vodafone India. After the transfer of numbers, simply inserted the new Vodafone SIM and the phone and Blackberry services are working well with the new operator. Two questions:
1. from the Options-> advanced-> SIM card Options, after typing MEPD, I see:
ID: a large number
Customization:
Disabled SIM
Active network
Network subset disabled
Service Provider disabled
People with reduced mobility
Does this mean that my Blackberry is locked? If Yes, is it blocked by Vodafone? Given that I have moved the Auntie service provider Vodafone and does not seem to wear the same number on the same phone, aunt locked the phone.
2. type Alt-EACE, I always see the Vendor ID 269 (Auntie). See also the logo of Auntie initially upwards. Is it possible that I can change the ID of the seller or at least stop getting the start screen for the old vendor? This ID Vendo has something to do with the above-mentioned lock?
Would be very grateful if some kind soul illuminates.
Thank you
Paul

There must be something different on a BB WE that allows the use of other SIMs, though always stuck at home carrier. Odd, but your experience proves the theory. I seriously doubt that release will make a difference, but certainly to try I guess.
I don't know why your BB is as you describe... but, I want to propose the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried. However, you want to be careful here. I don't know how you originally got your BB running services on your current operator. All BB services are controlled by the Service books. If a carrier does not natively support a BB model on their network, there are a few things that need to be taken to get these SBs on than non-native BB. If only it had to do, don't go here... you could just wipe out all your services level of BB. But if none of these tricks are required (which would mean that your carrier supports natively your BB model), then you should be safe to go ahead.
Steps 1 and 2 each should translate into a message to your BB to come:
(1) registry HRT
- KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
(2) Service reference books
- KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
(3) restart to take batt
- Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.
Maybe it will make a difference. I really do not know about you, to be honest. It's a tricky business, and you can well serve just as well by getting a new BB you get from your carrier... which by the way, you would have at least that the formal support at your disposal channel.
Good luck!

Unable to connect to my Blackberry smartphone to sync my contacts and calendar
Original title; Unable to connect to my Blackberry smartphone
Since the last Windows Update August 17, I can no longer connect my computer to my phone smart blackberry to sync my contacts and calendar
Thanks for your help. I decided to check with my Blackberry service provider, and they were able to fix the problem by simply removing and then reinsert the cell phone battery while it was connected to my computer. The old trick 'the battery '. Never thought of that.
Thanks again!

Problem checking blackBerry Smartphones Whatsapp
After you have installed whatsapp, I check my number starts with application whatsapp tried to connect inside and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your it policy.
OK... Here are the steps that you need:
- KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings
Beware of all the warnings, he said. Later, when you make your restore, don't do not restore basically this will just put it on your BB policy... rather a selective restore of only those databases that you absolutely need and especially leaving off anything to do with COMPUTING strategies:
- KB03974 List of database for the blackBerry smartphone
Good luck!

BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry not syncing with Gmail
My Blackberry Bold 9900 stopped sync with Gmail. I only synchronize e-mail, contacts, or calendar. I mainly use Gmail site on my PC to read and delete emails. I have more than 70 unread e-mails on my Blackberry that were already deleted from the Gmail Web site. The option 'balance' has no effect. I can receive new Gmail on Blackberry messages, but if I have to 'Mark as read' or 'Clear' an email actions does not sync with the Gmail Web site. The same is true if I 'Mark as read' or 'Delete' an email on Gmail Web site. The actions are not synchronized with the Blackberry. I have 2 Android devices and a Windows Phone that syncs with Gmail without a problem. I just have the problem on my Blackberry.
My device information:
BlackBerry Bold 9900
7.1 bundle 2435 (v7.1.0.862, platform 5.1.0.662)
Reconciliation of BlackBerry e-mail settings:
Delete on: mailbox & Pocket
Wireless reconcile: checked
On conflicts: mailbox WINS
Gmail settings:
Inbox, and garbage are included in IMAP feeds
Also, I tried to delete Gmail from Blackberry account. When I did he told me he would remove all Gmail messages from the phone but it moved all the Gmail unread messages in my main mailbox. (I keep Gmail and Exchange separate emails on my Blackberry). It is also impossible to select multiple messages at the same time to remove if they are not in a consecutive order.
Hello and welcome to the community!
With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):
1) register HRT
- KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
- Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application
2) Remove and return Service books
- KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
- If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
- KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
- Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) restart
- With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
- See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.
I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.
Good luck!

No. phones smart blackBerry smartphone made by BlackBerry - is it true?
German press reports the end of BlackBerry as a manufacturer of smartphone.
http://www.Golem.de/news/Mobilfunk-BlackBerry-entwickelt-keine-smartphones-Mehr-1609-123511.html
Is this true? And delays in updating a hint of the near end of the BlackBerry smartphones? Both sell hardware as possible before moving to a software developer pure offering solutions to large business customers? And stop doing anything for the devices the year next after a last updated OS10 and Android?
It is a promised how much official BlackBerry will support the PRIV and the DTEK50?
What?
http://blogs.BlackBerry.com/2016/10/the-future-of-BlackBerry-devices/
"Stop us handset hardware development and take full advantage of third parties to develop the hardware and to distribute and support the BlackBerry handset brand."
BlackBerry has signed a manufacturing contract, or in other words has had industrial partners. But BlackBerry has made the development and design, marketing and support. In the statement of BlackBerry itself, which ends. It will allow software; Is no longer develop and commercialize and support material.
So to the OP, Yes to your first question.

BlackBerry smartphones can not upgrade world BB (I think)
A few weeks when starting AppWorld on my phone, it said I needed to upgrade my AppWorld/world software. I went through a process of downloading, including the signing of an agreement of the user, who probably took care of him.
But I don't, because I didn't take over the world. Here's what I'm trying to start:
Press App World icon in the home screen
Message appears: "to continue using Blackberry App World, you need to upgrade your current version. ..."
Select [update]
A web page loads up, that resembles http://appworld.blackberry.com, except that do not load images
And here I go, because I do not know what, if anything, I have to have from there.
I have a Blackberry 8350, and the OS is (I guess)? 5.0.0.601.
Help please?
Hello and welcome to the community!
Please try this sequence:
(1) to remove from your BB AppWorld
- KB10040 How to view or delete applications on a BlackBerry smartphone
- He asks to restart the BB,
(2) a Batt Pull reboot (power on, remove the battery, wait, insert the battery, wait), even if redundant to the one you did in step 1.
3) install a new copy of AppWorld (on your BB)
- Yet once, if he asks to restart, do.
(4) restart another Batt-sweater
(5) see if it works now.
See you soon!
