  Only a single bar of favorites is allowed. You can create folders on the toolbar of bookmarks (named 'Sports', 'News', etc.) and add or move your bookmarks to these folders.

  Hi ritastyle, of course - you can right click (or on a mac, ctrl + click) and remove these entries. they are quite normal pre-filled entries that behave like all of your other custom bookmarks.

  I have studied your items and came to the place where it is suggested to drag the icon for this function and drop it in the section Customize the bookmarks toolbar. When I lower it shows the icon, BUT the moment I close the palette the new icon added on the task bar disappeared.

  I've customized bookmarks management widely enough. This is why the option to reset it makes me, panic, especially I lost bookmarks more than once or twice during the upgrade to versions of FF.

  I put 20 cases where I sorted out hundreds of bookmarks.

  • Press the F10 key or press the Alt key to bring up the 'Menu Bar' temporarily if the menu bar is hidden.

  Versions of Firefox 4 + have two buttons bookmark with a star in the window customize.
  
  A single star button has a marker to drop that open Bookmark menu.

  Currently, Adobe Acrobat for iOS (free mobile app), Acrobat Reader (free desktop application) DC and Acrobat Pro DC (paid office application) do not support the user Favorites (i.e. custom bookmarks added to specific pages for each user).  Applications support only bookmarks "Table of contents" which are embedded in a PDF document.

  Although Acrobat for Android supports user bookmarks, syncing with the desktop app is not supported.

• FF22 and prefs.js custom installation, bookmarks.html and override.ini FF23 does not

  I have done this several times with several previous versions. FF19 and 20 being the latest versions of success, it worked. (I wasn't 21).

  All I ever had to do was to extract the FF setup.exe and add three files. Then run setup.exe - ms to perform the custom installation. None of these files have changed for some time.

  We bought a new laptop to Windows 8. I used Windows Easy Transfer to transfer data from the old laptop to the new laptop. Now, my wife, saved bookmarks passwords and other custom settings do not appear on the new laptop.

  I don't know anything about Windows 8 but if you have Firefox installed and running there is a simple method to find your profile: let Firefox for you using the option of troubleshooting as explained in this article

  I imagine that the profile of your wife should be in a similar situation to yours, but under a different username.

  To answer your question, update usually retains your personal data (bookmarks, passwords recorded, etc.). However, it is always a good idea to keep a backup of your personal data in case of hard drive failure or accidental formatting, preferable on another hard drive, a USB pin/USB/thumb/key or a CD/DVD, so that you don't miss them. I use an add-on named FEBE for me to do on a regular basis.

  1. create a custom stamp by using the file name.

  or

  2. create a custom stamp using the name of the bookmark (which in turn will be the file name)

  I was foooling around during a certain number of hours trying to get this to work, here's what I've done so far:

  I created a stamp, the stamp has two text boxes I need to fill from a string. The string is in the format of
  "08363-G-5109-DWG-R-00001_A.pdf" with a variable number of characters before underscore, but still the same after the underscore. In the first text box, that I need
  08363-G-5109-DWG-R-00001 that I get with

  Note that JavaScript is case sensitive, so is not "documentfilename". You have it right in the first script you show.

  You should look at article in the Knowledge Base of Bookmarks Toolbar - view your Web Favorites at the top of the Firefox window . It will show you how to create and manage bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar.

  It is quite similar to the management of all the bookmarks, then you might want to take a look at this article as well.
